Just finished migrating server providers and our old servers are being canceled soon. Does anyone know how to delete all log data or any other cached files for security reasons? Is there a command in SSH that can wipe it clean? Without damaging anything of course.

I can not delete only a Domain and replace it with a other Domain. There is just the possibility to delete the Domain incl. the data. The Problem is i have 2 Domains that point to the same root-directory. And now i was making a new website in a other directory. And now i want to use one of this domain for my new website. But i can't change it. Also if i change the document root, the website d'ont use the new domainname - it makes like a redirection to the old domainname.

we've just moved to a new server and was wondering if there was any programs to secure erase all data on the hard drive on the old server (with centOS), as we don't want anyone else who get this harddrive to be able to recover any data.

We use some DoD "approved" applications to remove sensitive data on NTFS partitions on our stationary computers, but couldn't find anything for *nix.
I have 2 IPs for my vServer. Plesk automatically add both addresses to the Plesk Panel. One of the ip address I want to use for another service (openvpn). The Problem is, that i can't delete the IP from the Plesk panel.
I got the message: Fehler: String was provided for unescaped parameter host.
There are no reseller or customers who use this IP. So how can i solve this problem and delete the IP from the Panel?

Now we got big problem. Since our forum has 60GB data, I have no idea how to move files over.
If it was another windows server, I would just install a flashget (or similar download software) and put all HTTP links into it and just go to bed.
The data has been ZIPed into dozens of files, 1-3 GB each. HTTP link are ready for downloading, like
www.abc.com/files01.zip
www.abc.com/files02.zip
........
www.abc.com/files50.zip
I was wondering what's the best way to move data. Can we install a programme and put those links into it and download into my server? Thank you for your suggestion.
I tried wget, seems not working, speed drops to 0 after 10 secs, don't know what reason.

Impossible to delete my PTR record (DNS) on a domain name. Message error: Impossible de restaurer la zone DNS : une erreur s'est produite en ajoutant l'enregistrement (IPv6 du serveur) IN none mondomaine.fr. : Des valeurs incorrectes ont été indiquées pour l'enregistrement DNS.
This happens when I try to add a new domain or when I am trying to remove a domain. It just hangs, the browser says waiting on server while plesk just hangs. This is a fresh new install of Plesk 12 as well. I added a bunch of new domains tonight. No crazy changes or anything to plesk. I have found nothing so far in my search.

I used this certificate for "Secure the Panel"
I went to "Tools and Settings" -> "IP addresses" and made this certificate the default for all the IPs. On the page "Tools and Settings" -> "SSL certificates", it says Used: 0 next to "default certificate".
But when I try to delete it, it tells me: "Error: Unable to remove certificates: one or several certificates are assigned to the IP addresses/domains."
Is there anywhere I can check where this certificate is still used?

I perform a migration with several domains from Plesk 9.5 and Plesk 12, it runs well. Then I remove all the migrated domains in Plesk 12 server. Then I perform a new migration with the same domains from the same server with Plesk 9.5 to the same server with Plesk 12 and it fails.The reason is that Plesk 12 doesn't remove the databases attached to the subscriptions. The new migration tries to deploy the databases and it can't because the same databases with the same users are deployed already.
I tried to remove the databases with `plesk bin database` and it was not enough. Maybe the same error will show when you migrate from Plesk 11.5/12 to Plesk 12.
I have a new Server (CentOS Linux 7.1.1503) and will migrate the Data from my old Server (Ubuntu 14.04 LTS) with the Migration Manager. Both Servers running with Plesk 12.0.18

I changed to a new server with plesk 12 and every php that worked with Plesk 11.5 and php 5.4 doesn't work in the new server with fstcgi and php 5.4. They run fine if I config subdomain with FastCgi php5.3 but don't with php 5.4.35. So, we don't have field (or we don't find...) to update this value (or delete it). The website disk usage is now 2.1 Go. Every day, we have an email alert.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI cannot seem to find a conclusive answer to this. I use subdomains to create client websites then once they are in their own domains the subdomains still remain. Can I delete only the subdomain and leave all the files or at least leave the database since it is still connected to the new domain. Example below.
subdomain.example.com uses database1
newsite.com still uses database1
Is there a way to copy the database into the new domain?
Mail in the spam folder is supposed to be deleted after 30 days.
I have some mail that has been in the Spam folder for 40 days. Why hasn't it been auto-deleted?
On my previous server and on some other hosts, I was able to write to files (for example with PHP) without having to chmod the files first.
Now I cannot, and files are required to be chmoded properly so I can write to them.
I cannot even touch() a file with PHP.
Is there any way to have this permissions removed?
I don't want to chmod the all thing, all I want is to change the configurations so I can fwrite() or file_put_contents() normally.
I's a dedicated un-managed server, so basically any advanced configurations can be done.

I think the wrong text is displayed for the option "Remove Domain Alias".
In Plesk 11.5.30 Update #13, in a Webspace, on the Websites & Domains tab, if I click an alias, a window appears for the alias with the option to "Remove Domain Alias". If I move the cursor over the text "Remove Domain Alias", or click on the link, I see a pop-up: Removing this website will also delete all related files, directories, and web applications from the server.
I think this is incorrect because removing an alias should not remove any files, directories, and web applications.
I have an issue with running of the php-scripts. It runs via Cron (as it consumes a lot of memory), after aprox. 10 minutes after the start-time of the script the following error appears in the error-log file (path - /var/www/vhosts/system/subdomain.domain.tld/logs/error_log)

For a very strange reason another PHP-script, that has the same code, but just runs less arrays, and therefore consumes less memory and can be run via browser - works perfectly from both browser and the cron. The php.ini for this domain set up correctly (see the attachment)...

I'm trying to add multiple PHP version (current version installed: 5.5.13), using the official documentation. I always get 500 Internal Server Error after switching to the new version, with the following error_log content:

After you have made the transition, do you delete everything on your previous server? Or can I expect that everything be deleted anyway when my subscription runs out?
I bring this up because there sometimes is sensitive data stored there (ie. databases with personal info) and I'm wondering how much I should delete. Obviously I'll get rid of the DBs, but what about essential stuff like the operating system?
I've been using CPanel for a few years now and I've encountered an error that I have no clue how to fix it. Basically the files have been with me for the last two or three years and I've changed them from server to server. I'd say these files have been through about four or five servers. The funny thing is I can't delete any of these files. The files are in a folder under public_html and I can't delete the folder or any of the files or folders inside of that folder. I've tried through FTP and through CPanel.
The FTP error I get (I'm using WS_FTP Pro) is:

The CPanel error I get (through File Manager) is:

I even CHMODed all of the files to 777. I don't know how to get rid of these old files, how do I do it? I also have root to the server if that helps.
Is there a script for whm that deletes all mails older than XX years for all accounts on the server?

For example, my server's error_log file is 193 Mb and my access_log file is 14 Mb. Can I "rm" them both?
Are there any other such files I can safely delete that occupy space on the server?
