How Can I Give A Customer Access To His Specific Domain On Godaddy
Apr 14, 2008
I have an account on godaddy, with more than 20 domains registered and well, so far i have been in charge of the updates of these domains and the websites they represent. But now I have this customer who is asking me to have access to his specific domain so he can upload files by him self, the thing is that i dont have a clue of how to do it. I tried to create a new account in godaddy for this customer and tried to transfer this domain into his account and I was not allowed to. I cannot give him my username and psw cause he wont only have access to his website but all those i have registered under my account. I will really appreciate some advises to help me work this out.
I can't believe the hours of BS I had to go through with Godaddy hosting to get a subdomain to work. Their online "help" is horrible, incorrect, and incomplete.
For people who may have this problem, here's what I had to go through:
You can go into "Domain Management" and "Add a Subdomain" and have it point to a specific directory. Fine. That's all well and good, but that in itself does nothing and their help implies that's all you have to do and you're set, boom you have a subdomain. Not so fast.
You have to go into your "DNS Manager" and add a CNAME record with the same name as your subdomain and have it point to @. So apparently you have to change the DNS first so web browsers recognize the subdomain and get redirected to your host, then the domain management "subdomain rule" kicks in and it knows to go to a certain directory.
The funny part is the customer cervice person knew none of this. He kept insisting I had to add an A record, obviously just reading from a script. And even if I did have to mess with my DNS settings to enable my subdomain why wasn't this in the "help" on your website? Unbelieveable.
My reseller have got one plan, where option "Gestion de l'accès au serveur via SSH" (Manage SSH access to server) is on "Peut autoriser l'accès uniquement à un environnement chrooté" (Can autorize access only in chrooted environment).
This plan contains only one subscription in which I would like to permit users to use sftp. If I go in the subscription, and then I click on "Customize subscription", I can see option "Gestion de l'accès au serveur via SSH" (Manage SSH access to server) is on "Peut autoriser l'accès uniquement à un environnement chrooté" (Can autorize access only in chrooted environment)...
=> So same than in the plan.
After that, when I click on subscription => WebSites and Domain => One domain => FTP Access and I choose a ftp user, I don't have any option to allow ssh access to the user.
Is there any way to give a reseller or customer access to the php custom settings box labeled "Additional configuration directives" on the website & domains -> php settings button that an admin can see and alter? We have attempted to give resellers the "Common PHP settings management" and "Setup of potentially insecure web scripting options that override provider's policy" options, but it still does not show up to a reseller.
I am just curious, I know that it is a great customer retention hook, but really, and how about unlimited bandwidth? This is my first post on the forum, and I will be asking many more questions as I want to get the inside scoop before I take the reseller plunge.
At first glance it seems as though the advertising is throughout the site and not just in the advertisement section. I know it's only $7.95, but for life? I guess if they're paying for 2 years at a time, but month to month there is no way. They would end up with a ton of registered domains, and allot of parked domains. Oh well just thought I would ask.
I'm using Concrete5 CMS to create a website. This CMS creates/manages all its webpages in a mySQL database. Thus, there is no physical folder associated with each webpage, so I can't simply create an .htaccess file and place it in the directory tree in the right sub-folder to restrict access for that sub-folder and all folders it contains.
I have one .htaccess file located at the root level (e.g top-level folder for the website).
QUESTION 1: I need place in this top-level .htaccess file to (1) restrict access to only two specific IP addresses that I can specify (blocking access to all other IP addresses), and (2) specify the URL addresses that I wish to apply this rule to?
This is the mod_rewrite rule I'm trying to create. I am very new to Apache admin. Here's the issue:
I have 3 vhosts running on my HTTPD Apache 2.2.24 server: Server1, Server2, Server3. Each vhost is connected to a Weblogic application server. We are trying to prevent access to the Example.portal page on each application server.
I migrate to 12.0.18 Actualización #28, última actualización Dic 11, 2014 02:12 PM.
When I try to Access to the domains in a specific client I´m geting this error:
Internal error: D:Plesk wes.escarmerieradomenech.com is out of webspace MessageD:Plesk wes.escarmerieradomenech.com is out of webspace File Webspace.php Line401 TypePleskFatalException
I used to run a blog on blogger.com and it was going well, but I decided that it wasn't enough having it run by someone else, so I decided to purchase my own hosting to install wordpress and continue the blogging there.
I already had purchased the domain name from them, so it made sense to me to purchase some basic hosting from them too, as I'd never really heard anything bad about them.
But, now I am having problems. I tried to install wordpress, followed everything exactly, but this lead me to nothing, so I went back to basics, and just put a basic html file on the server, to see if I could look at it from a browser.
The domain is: theapblog.com (file= theapblog.com/home.html).
Whenever I use the domain name, I get a 404 error, it cannot find the server. If I use the IP address of the server directly, I get a 403 error, so I don't think I can actually access any of the files from a browser.
Basically, I'm pretty new to this, and would really like some help. As far as I can guess, it appears as though the domain isn't linked to the server, as surely then it too would return a 403, and as for the 403, I really don't understand.
I have a .fr domain purchased from Gandi.net. I have webhosting with GoDaddy.com.
After setting the DNS to point to GoDaddy.com (ns51 and ns52...) I get an error message and the DNS revert back to the default settings (gandi's DNS). AFNIC's(.fr regulator) zonecheck fails with the following error:
Currently i'm running a server with 12 customers on it. They all have their own domainnames and subscriptions. One of them wants to secure his site with SSL and also his mail traffic. Currently he is using the mail.hisdomain.com server for receiving/sending e-mail. I want to install a certificate so that domain is secured. How can i accomplish this?
When i look on the server there is only 1 PEM file for the whole server. If i'm going to install his KEY and CRT in that file than all my clients will use that certifcate right? Can i make it so that only his domain uses thoses certifcates? Plesk is configured to use Postfix with Courier.
A customer asked me if it could be possible to disallow certain email accounts to send emails out of the accounts domain. Is there a way to do so with the Exim installation in Cpanel?
A domain on my Plesk does not receive incoming emails from a specific external domain. Other domains on the same server are receiving correctly emails from the same external domain. DNS are configurated by the same way (external of Plesk). Can't see a bounce anywhere. External sender does not receive a bounce too...
So: - I've deleted the domain in Plesk and re-created it (just in case...). - I've added the external sender in spam whitelist (I've tried in user conf and in server wide conf) - When I send mail to a different address in the same server, I can see the mail in syslog and maillog (send or bounced) - When I send from this external f***** domain to my domain, I can't see anything in syslog and maillog
I'm using Plesk 11.5.50 CentOS 6.5 64bit with Qmail. I have installed a SSL certificate on mail server "mail.company.tld" and is running successfully with smtp/pop3/imap4 daemon. Every user agent uses "mail.company.tld" for smtp/pop3/imap4. The qmail name is "mail.company.tld" (file me). The server has about 300 domains and 1000 accounts.
Now we want to add a new SSL certificate, called "mail.newcompany.tld", and use it only for certain domains. I would like to know if is possible to use the new SSL "mail.newcompany.tld" for a specific mail domain without using the old SSL "mail.company.tld" that isn't expired yet. From Plesk Panel I haven't found a section for using the SSL for a specific mail domain.
I just got a VPS plan for the first time where I want to host several new websites. In the past I've used individual accounts to host a couple of other websites and haven't paid much attention to nameserver setup, just configured at my registrar whatever I was given from the hosting service.
So, I got a brand new domain to act as the host of the rest of the domains I'm setting up: www.example.com.
In the VPS I have setup this one as the default domain for nameservers: ns1.example.com ns2.example.com
Question 1: - Can I setup ns1.example.com and ns2.example.com as the nameserververs for www.example.com ? i.e. nameserver is used for the same domain in which it is named. Even if this is possible, is it a good idea or would it be better to host it somewhere else? When I try to define those as the nameservers in Godaddy I get the error message Nameserver not registered. What am I missing?
Other DNS questions Question 2: - If I host my nameservers in my VPS, I will need a separate IP for each one (ns1, ns2...and so on). Can I still use those IP's to actually host websites, or do I need additional IP's to host the actual sites? Any value in keeping each IP dedicated to a nameserver?
For example: IP#1 = used for ns1 IP#2 = used for ns2 IP#1 = used for website 1 IP#2 = used for website 2
Question 3: - Are DNS backup services valuable if I host my own nameservers? Any suggestions on good quality providers? Price not an issue.
Question 4: - If I used DNS backup services for example.com will that apply to ns1.example.com and ns2.example.com which I used for my VPS? and therefore will be applicable to other domains I host? Does this make sense? Or would I need a separate backup for each domain I host? Can I use one backup for multiple domains?
Question 5: - What are the drawbacks of hosting multiple sites under the same IP? I control all sites under these IPs
Question 6: - Can somebody recommend a good resource to learn how IP, DNS, nameservers, etc work? Any book, paid website, video... anything ? While there's a ton of info on the web, all is scattered and none seems to be too detailed enough for somebody starting to learn about this.
Company is using software Parallels Plesk Panel 11.5.30 for Windows And There currently are in trouble about how some websites it's can't active Customer, domain or Subcriptions on 1 Resellers.
I am experiencing a weird issue after a Plesk upgrade (from 11 to 12, installed on Ubuntu 12.04).
