I have a RHEL4 Box and need to upgrade glibc. Currently have glibc-2.3.4-2.39 installed. I have downloaded glibc-2.7-2.i386.rpm and tried to install with
#rpm -Uv glibc-2.7-2.i386.rpm
but received the following error:
Code:
error: Failed dependencies:

glibc > 2.3.4 conflicts with glibc-common-2.3.4-2.39.i386

I've bought an VPS recently but now I have a problem. It didn't come with yum installed so I need to install it on my own...
Now, I have a problem.
When I try to do:
Code: # rpm -Uvh yum-3.2.19-18.el5.centos.noarch.rpm This comes out:
Code: warning: yum-3.2.19-18.el5.centos.noarch.rpm: Header V3 DSA signature: N OKEY, key ID e8562897 error: Failed dependencies: yum-fastestmirror is needed by yum-3.2.19-18.el5.centos.noarch
So I suppose I need to install the yum-fastestmirror first. But when I try:
Code: # rpm -Uvh yum-fastestmirror-1.1.16-13.el5.centos.noarch. rpm This comes out:
Code:
warning: yum-fastestmirror-1.1.16-13.el5.centos.noarch.rpm: Header V3 DS A signature: NOKEY, key ID e8562897 error: Failed dependencies: yum >= 3.0 is needed by yum-fastestmirror-1.1.16-13.el5.centos.n
I'm in the process of transferring my sites over to a new VPS, which is running CentOS and plesk. The server is also running PHP4 and MySQL4, both of which have to be upgraded for one of my sites (the site depends on PHP5 specific functions and MySQL referential integrity stuff)
So, to begin with, I installed yum to make my job easier. That went without a hitch. Then I did a yum check-update to see what was going to update...among the list was php and Mysql...excellent. When I issued yum update, however, I got a failed dependency error, and for the life of me, I can't solve it. Hoping a centos/plesk/linux guru can help me out here...

Last night the plesk auto updater ran an update. And i was wondering if others have had the same issue?

I got and apt-get dependencies error while installing Postfix. At the end the log told me, to ask for free support - thats what I am trying to get here.

I have used Apache for a fair amount of time but the only thing that really becomes tough is these MSVCR runtime dependencies.
Is it theoretically possible for me to make an x64 build of apache that doesn't use these VC runtime dependencies so that I don't have to keep installing these runtimes on just about every machine I run it on? Even making Apache reference a "local" copy of the DLL (in the same folder as the EXE itself) would be perfectly fine.
I am aware of a "msvcrt.dll" that exists in the system32 folder from XP onwards, and while I was compiling a "hello world win32 C program" this DLL only appeared in "resource monitor"'s "Modules listing section when I began referencing APIs in the OS DLLs, such as user32.dll and shell32.dll.
The reason why that i need to build apache this way is because I'm using this for a Multiverse-powered (multiversemmo.com) server, and I'm trying to make any "system migration" down-times to a downright minimum.
My project only uses these ".so" files:mod_authz_core
According to: URL....I tried to install php 5.3...Before able to .configure php source, i must install several dependencies. I resolved most of them but installing libmcrypt-devel gives the following error:

I google it and found out that this might be cPanel/WHM bug. I've mailed them but they need a lot of time before they reply so I will also ask here

I'm using Plesk 11 in a Ubuntu 12.04 Linux environment on a remote dedicated server. I am NOT trying to upgrade to Plesk 12. But, every time I log onto the panel, I get the error message shown on the subject line. Afterward, it says, "To solve this problem, send an update log to Parallels support." I have the update log ... but "where" to send it. Is there an email address? A webpage?
