Plesk 12.x / Linux :: How To Install Wildcard SSL For Domain / Subdomain Hosted On Server

Apr 13, 2015

I am running a CentOS 6.5, 64-bit server with Plesk 12.0.18, and need to install a wildcard SSL for one of the domains/sub domains hosted on this server.

So you have the csr and private key installed (and domain.crt?), you just need to open..

1. COMODORSAAddTrustCA
2. COMODORSADomainValidationSecureServerCA

On your desktop and combine the two files into a new intermediate.crt file and upload that as the CA File.

But I'm not sure why you can't add it as text.

Time For A New Shared Server Host

May 21, 2008

I have been with Page-Zone for a couple years now. Just the past year I have had little problems with them.

-For instance once I was trying to update my website and their server went down. I thought it was something on my end so I started trouble shooting it for an hour and then it came back up.

-Another time the users on my website were without e-mail for a week, because they changed IP address.

-And finally the e-mail accounts couldn't receive any e-mails from Comcast, MSN, or Hotmail accounts. So I ended up setting up a Google Aps account for us to use for e-mail.

Granted they are very cheap but I have been having many problems with little support. Also today I just noticed that in the whois it lists Network Solutions as the technical contact. Are these things that I should be looking for a new host for?

PEAR Installation On Shared Host Server

Feb 24, 2008

I have installed PEAR on my
localhost/apache server and
have no problem running pear
scripts such as HTLM Quickform
and validator. (php Anthology
Vol 1 & 2 by Harry Fuecks)
)

But I am having problems
getting Pear to install on
my Linux shared server.
GoDaddy say that Pear is loaded by
default with php4 and are not prepared
to assist in any further installations.

I know that a copy of the pear installation
can be uploaded to the folder where I host
my site. I ran the following script
and this shows that PEAR is enabled

<?php
include("PEAR.php");
$p = new PEAR();
print_r($p);
?>

:OutPut in browser:

PEAR Object
(
[_debug] =>
[_default_error_mode] =>
[_default_error_options] =>
[_default_error_handler] =>
[_error_class] => PEAR_Error
[_expected_errors] => Array
(
)
)
I have searched the forum but I am still
none the wiser. If there is anyone on the
forum who had been through the setup
procedure before I would welcome your help.

Jun 29, 2008

have set up a server at burst.net.But burst.net said they will not transfer my data from Dreamhost.com to my new server.I think it's a bad idea to download all my data from dreamhost to my computer and then upload them to the new server.So,is there any easier way to transfer the data from Dreamhost.com to my new server at burst.net?

It seems dreamhost has no SSH and cPanel,but my server has both of them.I heard that I can use the get/mget command to do that,

SubDomain Host

Jun 6, 2008

I own a domain, www.mysite.com, and wanted to create a subdomain (sub.mysite.com) but wanted to host that sub domain on another host.

In otherwords, mysite.com is on my own dedicated server, but I wanted to host sub.mysite.com on lunarpages, godaddy, or any other host.

I didn't see this ability on Godaddy or Lunarpages which leads me to the question which hosts allow me to use my own subdomain while keeping my main domain on my dedicated server?

Subdomain Only In Other Host

I. the dedicated server have whm and cpanel
in whm i go to DNS Functions --> Edit DNS Zone --> i add sub name , choose A, and enter other ip host

II. the shared hosting only have cpanel
i go to cpanel --> addons domain --> add my domain.com
then go to cpanel again --> Subdomains --> i add sub from domain.com
with above step i just got this when accessing the url [url]:

Great Success!
Apache is working on your cPanel and WHM Server
If you can see this page, then the people who manage this server have installed cPanel and WebHost Manager (WHM) which use the Apache Web server software and the Apache Interface to OpenSSL (mod_ssl) successfully. They now have to add content to this directory and replace this placeholder page, or else point the server at their real content.

Domain Name Server/Nameserver/host Name Issue

Aug 14, 2007

Well, the ns1.NAME.com and ns2.NAME.com is done. It works and links to the right place.

My host name is "dog.NAME.com" and links to the main server IP (example 1.1.1.1). So when i try to do this:
1.1.1.1/~NAME, it redirects me to dog.NAME.com which is good but then dog.NAME.com can't be found.

Server not found is the exact error i get. The IP works. i don't know what i am doing wrong.

My host said they will charge me to fix it, so i am relaying on you guys to save me money.

i have been stuck in this situation for more than a week...

the situation on my side is this:

i have a domain at godaddy, and using godaddy windows hosting..
i have a website in ASP.NET, and i want to make a subdomain for my forum suppose:
forum.mydomain.com
and forward it to other host on cpanel...

Other side:
<--
my friend has bought reseller hosting and have created an account for me with the name of mydomain.com.
and the server IP is x.x.x.123
-->

i logged in to my account in cpanel and created a subdomain named "forum"

then i created the subdomain on godaddy and pointed the A record of this subdomain to x.x.x.123

now when i open forum.mydomain.com.....it displays error page...

Setup Subdomain To Another Host

May 3, 2007

to setup 1.domain.com to another host

I have domain (domain.com) which is on dedicate server with root access.

also have 2-nd-domain.com which is on hostgator host(where can i add domains via addon domains)

now i need to setup 1.domain.com subdomain on hostgator.

how can i do it ?

pls correct me, if i'm wrong

1. via Directadmin Subdomain Management tool (on domain.com) add "1" subdomain

2. check "DNS Management" section -> 1.domain.com is on main domain.com IP

Unfortunately there isn't any option to edit this record. i can only delete it and add manually. (i know, that i can do it via SSH - > edit config file, but i don't have enought experience to edit files via SSH. just know, few commands, how to archive, reboot, move, etc ...)

delete this record and add manually

DNS Management -> Add Domain Records ->
1.domain.com - A record =IP of hostgatore host

btw, did i need to add NS records?

3. go to 2-nd-domain.com and try to add 1.domain.com via addon domains.

hmm

it seems, that i'm doing something wrong, as i got

Quote:

Using nameservers with the following IPs: **.***.***.**2, **.***.***.**1 (my main domain IPs) Bind reconfiguring on gator using rndc

Created DNS entry for 1.domain.com
account is created, but IP-s are wrong

Can I have a primary domain - www.sample.com - point to another primary domain - www.sample.asn.au - but then have the entry point for that domain be a subdomain - www.ccc.example.com?

If the primary domain is parked somewhere else, doesn't it mean that all the subdomains will be too? Or do I use a 301 on the primary domain to the .asn.au site? But does that then redirect all the subdomains too?

Add-on Domain And Subdomain

Jul 19, 2007

Let's say my domain, for which I have shared hosting, is www.mydomain.com

I have also registered the domain www.yourdomain.com

My hosting has cPanel

I add www.yourdomain.com as an add-on domain.

Inside my root folder the folder /public_html/yourdomain/ is created.

When I create the subdomain subdomain.yourdomain.com, the folder /public_html/subdomain/ is created instead of /public_html/yourdomain/subdomain/

Can I assign the /public_html/yourdomain/subdomain/ folder to be the root of subdomain.yourdomain.com?
e.g. I have the file image.jpg at /public_html/yourdomain/subdomain/image.jpg and it's accessed from subdomain.yourdomain.com/image.jpg

Is this possible?

Having a lot of folders directly under /public_html/ would get annoying for me.

Parking A Domain Under A Subdomain

Feb 13, 2009

I have 2 domains ie. red.com blue.com. They are both on seperate servers. I want red.com to be a subdomain for blue.com. I went ahead and created an A host for red.blue.com, I then created a virtualhost and everything is working, I can pull up red.blue.com and it pulls up the same data if I were to go to red.com.

Here is my issue. I want to have red.com pull up red.blue.com by default so blue.com gets credit for traffic, I am moving red.com and moving it all into blue.com.
Hopefully this makes sense. Also, I want to make sure nothing breaks my current search engine results.
