Change Needed To Parked Account MX Forward?
II just transfered domain hosting from my clients old host to my server. The new website is up-and-running without problems. At his request, I use a MX --> A redirect to send his mail to his local server at his business, where he wishes to receive it. It is setup as follows:
Main domain (xyz.net)
MX ->> extmail.xyz.net.
extmail "A" ->> 99.99.999.99 (at the clients local server)
Here is the PROBLEM. The client has a secondary parked account that just directs to the main account. The client has email MX forwarding from that account, which does not seem to be forwarding correctly after this changeover described above --- it is not being delivered.
Question: Do I have to change the MX pointer at the secondary domain to point ->> to extmail.xyz.net? it is currently set to point to mail.xyz.net.

Primary Domain Change For WHM Account
I have a hostee who as part of an out-of-court settlement, needs to change the primary domain they host on. The domain they're switching to is already a parked domain on their account. At first blush, it seems like it would be pretty easy, but now I'm concerned about their email. Both of the principals of the company use Horde extensively for webmail, and as such I have files on the server for their email accounts. What I was thinking about doing is this: 1. Stop parking the "new" domain on the account. 2. Change the account from using the "old" domain in WHM to the "new" domain by modifying the account in WHM. 3. Forwarding email sent to user@old.domain to user@new.domain, in CPanel. 4. Assorted changes on website to account for the new domain - published email addresses, new SSL cert, things like that. My concern is in how to move the mail files, currently set up to be for user@old.domain, to be readable by Horde as user@new.domain, so it's seamless to the users. We will be keeping the old domain under our control, but not using it to point to the site any more; I just don't want to have to tell them "OK, to get your old email, you have to check this address, and to get new email, you have to check this one." Would my plan above actually accomplish that? Is there a better way within a WHM/CPanel framework to accomplish what I need without losing email or access to it? What am I missing?

Whm/Cpanel 11, Nameservers In Create Account Will Not Change
I changed my nameservers from my last domain, I deleted all the dns entries etc... and updated my hostname etc... But, when I go to create a new cpanel account, it still shows up with my own nameservers and making it with my old nameservers. I tried going to /etc/nameserverips and they were the new nameservers. Im not sure how to fix this, any ideas?

Parked On Addon Domain
Can a domain be parked on an addon domain in a cPanel server? At first thought I do not see it as a problem as a ServerAlias directive for the parked inside the addon domain Virtual Host container inside httpd.conf is all is required but cPanel may not allow for all it's wisdom. Let me know if cPanel would pose a problem or wouldn't allow this scenario.

CPanel Parked Domain Email
I have a domain hosted which is the primary domain with all its file hosted, it also has its own email accounts setup. I now have another domain, i want to make the new domain the primary domain for the account which is hosting my website and the previous domain to be parked on top of it - this is with the use of cPanel. Now from what ive experienced i should be able to use and setup email accounts from within cPanel from both domains. This is my question. The previous domain already has email accounts setup, if i make the switch and make it a parked domain onto the new primary domain will i still be able to retain the same email accounts/passwords/email? e.g. if i have email@[url]after the switch i want email@[url]to be under the new primary account[url]

Addon Domains Moving To Parked
I have a reseller account in WHM and CPANEL. With that I have a range of sites under it created in Cpanel under addon domains. Everything works fine, then suddenly everything goes down, and all leads to the main site. Reason is, it shows all the domains in Cpanel as parked! Even removing them from there or WHM causes it to dissappear from the addon section and not show up online. Now it happened months ago where httpd.conf file had to be edited manually. And it just happened about 30hrs ago. Does anyone know why this would happen? I have asked my datacentre 3 times, with no clear answer about it, except it just does. How can it be prevented in future? Also asked my datacentre this with no answer. Will be putting up a review of them soon, and it will be the complete opposite of what I thought of them before.

Parked Domains And Redirection With Trailing /
it's possible to stop the redirection of a parked domain URL to my primary site. For instance if my primary domain was abcd.com and i parked iloveyager.com ontop of it. The redirection im talking about is this. If i go to iloveyager.com/shots/ works fine. however if i go to iloveyager.com/shots (without the trailing slash) it will redirect me to abcd.com/shots Doesn't mod_dir cover the redirection of a URL with and without a trailing slash? I know there has to be a workaround for my problem and whether it lies in a .htaccess rewrite or modifying my apache conf is.

Changed Dns, But Still Showing Parked Page?
I changed the dns for a domain I purchased yesterday to a parking service at parked.com Last night I changed the name servers to my hostgator ones. It worked. I was installing joomla, and publishing the site. Everything was fine when I went to bed. So I wake up this morning.. now when I go to the site it shows the stupid parked.com parking page instead of what I was working on. I deleted all the cache, history, temp internet files, cookies, everything.. I tried in firefox, and IE. I tried on two different computers. I can't get my site to load up. I called hostgator and they said the site is fine and they don't see a park page. They told me just to clear my cache again. the site is www.wiispecs.com I would appreciate it if someone could check it out and tell me what site they see. I could use any ideas on how to fix this so I can view the page too. I tried switching name servers to godaddy and then switching back to hostgator. I also emailed parked.com tech support.

Email Auto Forward
I have signed up for hostgators webhosting. Upon setting up, I found out that outgoing mails from any email addresses from my domain name cannot be copied to another email account. I've tried scripting on the client software (e.g)outlook. it works. but then again, it only applies on the client side if the scripted client is present. this would not work if the email is sent from the web based login. is there a work around for it? If there isn't, does any one know of any webhosting co. that allows that? Situation is, my current host does allow it. Due to small amount of disk space allocated, reliability of the service, technical support and cost, we therefore have decided to switch to another host.

Is Anything Other Than Open_basedir Even Needed?
Assuming that an account on my server is hacked into, is open_basedir enough to protect other users on the same server? I would assume so, since php would not have access to those other accounts? Why is suphp needed? Ofcourse, I also disabled dynamic loading of modules (apache) and added some disable_functions list.

Can Your Hosting Address Be Seen When You Forward A Domain?
For example, if I forward my business domain abcproducts.com to my domain where I have my hosting, myname.com, is it possible for people to see where my business domain is forwarding to. Basically, I am doing a business website, but I don't want anyone to be able to see that it actually is forwarding to a folder on my main myname.com where I have my hosting. I am masking it, so it will only show abcproducts.com, but I am wondering if even the "tech saavy" has tools to figure this out. I just don't want anyone to be able to see this. I have several domains on my server. ABC.com DEF.com XYZ.com These 3 domains have email hosted my google and everything works as expected there. However, when I try and send email from a php form to an address at XYZ.com, my server tries to send it locally, instead of sending it to google's MX address. If I try and send mail from this php form to either ABC.com or DEF.com, it works great and sends it to google's MX servers. How To Forward Ports 2082 To 2083
My first post here at cpanel, and this is cos i'm now a proud owner cpanel vps Anyways, my question is how do i forward the unsecure 2082/2086 ports to the secure 2083/2087 ports. I have already done the server tweaking so that /cpanel and /whm etc gets forwarded to the secure ports. BTW i have noted that when i use http://domain.tld:2083 cpanel would automatically redirect to https, so just a port redirect/forward would be enough.

Forward One Address, Fail The Rest?
I have a dedicated server with cPanel/WHM and on it is a site with for example user name: domain The main email user name is of course domain I'd also like to forward admin@domainname.com to the domain user account then any other emails would fail. So say if someone sent an email to sales@domainname.com it would fail unless of course I had an account setup. Opinion Needed About Liquidweb
I have 2 dedicated servers and one VPS with liquidweb. Lately I am facing quite an issue with support and I think I am posting 2nd time about liquidweb support. Its all about my VPS, which use to hold 45 clients consumming around 50 % disk space and around 30 % bandwidth. On 3rd of April VPS started to shoot emails about services failure and continuously went for 2 days. Then on finally 5th April, it went down. So I reported this to liquidweb support by creating a ticket(I created the ticket by shooting an email to support@liquidweb.com not by logging into PIMS). I got an reply in around 1 hr 20 mins that server is up. So i checked it and yes it was up, but with lots of issues. Still were getting service failure emails as they are failing and above all my root password stopped working. So couldn't login into WHM that time. I reported this back on 6th April. No reply on 6th of April. On 7th april, I sent a reminder about the issue. They repiled by asking for my last 4 digits of credit card for verification purpose (Designatation of that person was written Web Designer) . Now when I ordered this using paypal, there is no question of last 4 digits of credit card. So I politely replied them back within 4 hours that I have used paypal for ordering the VPS. They didn't reply back on 7th, not on 8th. Finally on 9th, when I lost few customers because I can't login into WHM, I wrote a bit stringly worded post in that support ticket. To quote myself..... "OPPS!!!....This has been a tremendous lack of response from you guys. It seems that you don't have support guys anymore. I have lost few customers because I can't login into my WHM. And it seems that you have changed my root password and now not letting me know about this. Suddenly one web designer is replying my ticket. Whats is happening there? Let me know my root password immediately. Thanks Krish" Now after posting this reply, I decided to call them. So within 30 mins of this post I called them. Jason, a system admin replied and we talked politely about the issue. He accepted over phone that it was big mess. Why big mess?????...because when he restored my old password and I logged into WHM....I don't see any account left . All data lost...everything gone as it appeared there is nothing left. So he took up the issue of restoring account. He claimed that server was rooted. Now how come after so many days and communications they discovered my server was rooted? Then he started restoring accounts....all accounts came back but with a loss of around whopping 80% loss of data. Most of customers started complaining about loss of emails and data. On 10th again I reported them about such loss and mysql which was not working. They fixed the mysql issue, but no database was left. Then I got busy on 11th, could not follow it up as I should have been doing. But still as I was waiting replies from my customer about how much is the loss (I was telling them that we should be able to get them back from backup). So I reported back to support on 11th as follows...I quote myself... "I am waiting for reply from them. I noticed one thing. That the content is not restored properly...as there are only 13% of space used right..which should be around 50%." On 12th I got following reply...I quote...

Load Balancing - What Is Needed
I´m thinking about setting up a load balanced setup. I´ll start with load-balancing MySQL, and after, I´ll go with the webservers. MySQL is currently more important. I have two different bandwidth providers, with two different networks, in the same datacenter. Pings between both are under 1ms. I was think about buying 4 servers, two for a MySQL Cluster (NDB), and two for a UltraMonkey Load Balancer setup. The MySQL Cluster API would be installed in another server, currently in use. So, what else would I need? My intention is to have two servers in one provider, and two servers in another provider. Would this kind of setup require large quantities of bandwidth? Both providers wouldn´t let me pass a diferent cable for this purpose, so I would have to use the uplink. Also, for webservers, I would only need two more servers, right? Maybe rsync them, and have sessions stored in database would be the best choice? Thank You

I would like to setup a load balancing pair of servers. Currently, I have about 7 servers, all of them working stand alone. I would like to use two of them to host some "power-hungry" websites, that require high availiability. What kind of hardware will I need to do it? What Changes Needed Once The Server Ip Address Changes
i run a linux server with the planet it comes with ensim installed. as some of you probabley heard about the fire at the planet and they offered to move my server to another facility but they have to change the server ip address which i agreed to it the server is back online but i'm unable to acces any websites i asked them to point all domains to the new ip address but they are really busy and i assume it would take a day or 2 when i login to ensim and list all sites i still see the old ip address listed under each domain, do i need to change that if so how? will everything work once the they modify dns records?

Sending an email message to info@bar.com doesn't work. Client Question About DNS And Mail Forward
I have a situation with a client who wants to keep their current hosting provider for email, but switch their web hosting to a new host. I have recommended downtownhost to them, and explained that we could set up an mx entry to point to their old host for email forwarding. They came back and suggested keeping their current ISP to manage the DNS entry to forward all http requests to DTH, so that mail does not need to pass through DTH. I'm not a hosting whiz so I hope I explained this correctly. I was looking for some advice on: a) does their solution make sense? b) why would you want to do things this way?
