My customer have a primary domain in PLESK and we parked 2 another domains on his domain, for example primary domain is domain.com and another domains is domain.net and domain.org .
now how we can create a sub domain with parked domains in PLESK ? for example sub.domain.org ?
I have 2 wordpress blogs, and I'd like a few different domains to be shared on each of them.
Using some exemples, suppose I have domains from domainA.com to domainE.com. domainA.com is my main domain and the others are addon domains.
Today Blog1 is using blog.domainA.com, and domainB.com and domainC.com use WebRedirect to blog.domainA.com. And Blog2 uses domainD.com with WebRedirect on domainE.com too.
To access a post like /2008/02/02/this-is-a-nice-post, it is available only at blog.domainA.com, and not by domains B and C. I'd like they 3 to be able to access all posts directly, without redirecting to domain A.
To do that, I suppose I'd need to do some config on cPanel. And also on wordpress, even if I replicate it over other domains it insists to redirect to its configured domain.
I was thinking on the possibility of using symbolic link (ln -s) on their folders to blog.domainA.com folder, but I don't have access to shell on SSH so I'd like to know if it would work before trying.
In a real exemple of what I want, these domains all share the same phpBB forum: forumpcs.com.br, extremepc.com.br, forumdohardware.com.br.
Do u know if symbolic link would work to share the same wordpress? And how to make wordpress stop redirecting to blog.domainA.com?
I just remove subdomain I was use it for time and when I remove it from cpanel it now work as a subdomain for my site.

I have several hundred parked domains and would like to get up a single page of content for each that I control. Very similar to how godaddy.com does it for parked domains on their servers - buvvi.com .
Any one know of any server or programming scripts out there that can do this sort of thing?
I have a reseller account in WHM and CPANEL.
With that I have a range of sites under it created in Cpanel under addon domains.
Everything works fine, then suddenly everything goes down, and all leads to the main site.
Reason is, it shows all the domains in Cpanel as parked!
Even removing them from there or WHM causes it to dissappear from the addon section and not show up online.
Now it happened months ago where httpd.conf file had to be edited manually.
And it just happened about 30hrs ago.
Does anyone know why this would happen? I have asked my datacentre 3 times, with no clear answer about it, except it just does.
How can it be prevented in future?

Will be putting up a review of them soon, and it will be the complete opposite of what I thought of them before.
it's possible to stop the redirection of a parked domain URL to my primary site.
For instance if my primary domain was abcd.com and i parked iloveyager.com ontop of it.
The redirection im talking about is this. If i go to
iloveyager.com/shots/ works fine.
however
if i go to iloveyager.com/shots (without the trailing slash) it will redirect me to abcd.com/shots
Doesn't mod_dir cover the redirection of a URL with and without a trailing slash?
I know there has to be a workaround for my problem and whether it lies in a .htaccess rewrite or modifying my apache conf is.
I have domains parked on a subdomain. Since i updated the apache configuration with cPanel the parked domains just show the default apache configuration. The domain shows up under parked domains. I can delete the domain and readd then it works. However, that isn't a good option cause there are 100+ domains.

we use cPanel.
I am moving several (small) corporate websites over from an iPower VPS (terrible host btw) to LiquidWeb, which means I'm learning all the nuances in the new CP (WHM, cPanel). Now one company has three domain names (with employee only sections), all pointing to the same website (alias/parked domains). In Plesk, if I set them up as Alias domains, going to domain.com or domain.net pointed to the same website, but maintained the domain URL in the address bar indefinitely. Now on the new host, I have them set up as parked domains in cPanel (I thought this was the equivilant to alias). If a user goes to domain.net and follows a link on the page, they are taking to domain.net/link, as it should be.
However when an employee attempts to login at domain.net/login, the form action points to the login script, which in turn uses a PHP Header redirect to take them to the home page (or whichever page they attempted to access when not logged in). But when the header redirects them, it redirects to the domain.com logged in home page, and as the domain has changed it fails the session validation script, so they get redirected to domain.com/login, saying they are not logged in.
I put a note on the login page explaining you may have to login twice for now, but as you know some people just can't understand the interwebz, so I'm still getting lots of emails and phone calls about people not being able to login. Anyway, long story short, where should I start about fixing this problem? I haven't a clue about how WHM/cPanel manages parked domains and how it configures them, so I'm lost about where I should start looking.
OK here is the background of the problem.
I wanted to host customers for one of my scripts on subdomains.
So customer A will be on [url]
customer B will be on [url], and so on and so forth.....
As far as my knowledge goes, cPanel allows me to create an addon domain with it's own FTP account.
But I need to create subdomains, each with their own FTP account.
The subdomains should be isolated from each other, meaning customerA should not be able to access customerB's files (e.g. via PHP/perl script).
I have a feeling that this is possible with some hacks/workarounds.
I'm trying to create a subdomain using API but get this as the response:

I am using Web admin edition .I need to create two subdomains namely sub1.example.com and sub2.example.com with different IP address. So i need to create two webspaces since a webspace cannot have two domians pointing to two different IP. So now to I can create two webspaces set to different IP. But to create sub1.example.com in one webspace and sub2.example.com in another webspace , i need main domain example.com in both the workspace. But if try to create example.com in second webspace it already exists.Because it exists in another webspace. Actually i dont want to create example.com in both webspace. i need to its subdomain in different webspace.
So one solution is to create example.com and sub1.example.com in one webspace and create another webspace using Adding new webspace and specifying domain name as sub2.example.com. But i don't know does the second subdomain will work properly without creating main domain.

In Plesk (V. 12.0.18) there is no possibility to create mail accounts for subdomains via web interface. The KB article [URL] ..... describes this problem. The article suggests two possible ways.
I don´t want to use option 1 (create subdomain as additional domain) because a subdomain as domain wastes a domain in the license model.
Instead of that I tried the second way (command line interface). I can execute the first command without problems. When I try to execute the second command, I get the following error: "An error occured during mailname creation: Unable to set password: Domain of type subdomain selected".
I need to create more than a 1000 domains and i'm hoping to do this using an automated process. I can create them individually through the command line interface on our windows server but this will take a lot of time and effort.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a dedicated server here in the UK with fasthosts (win 2008 server, IIS 7), which which has been running fine for nearly a year. it was running plesk 9.2, and then out of the blue it got errors creating a new domain saying that PHP wasn't installed.
PHP was/is installed on the server, and is still running fine within my 12+ domains/websites. at the point of the error it was running 5.3.8 - i had manually upgraded the version outside of Plesk, but it had seen the new version when installing new domains.
When Plesk stopped seeing that PHP was installed, my hosts asked me to upgrade Plesk, as it would solve the issue. I used that ai.exe program, and choose v11.
The control panel installed OK - but I did lose my websites for a while, due to it downgrading my PHP to v5.2, and installing an older MySQL version which tried to use the same ports etc (I also have manually installed mysql v5.5 and have 1gig databases in that installation!).
After chosing the upgrade to 5.3 option in the Plesk control panel, and turning the Plesk installed Mysql v5.1 service off and to disabled in windows services - 'revealing' my 5.5 version, I could at least get my websites up and running once again!
Once all those were running (the priority), I have found that v11 Plesk has the same problem as v9.2, namely that it doesn't think that PHP is installed and available.
The error on installing a new domain;
Error: Failed domain creation: Unable to update domain data: Execute websrvmng --add-domain "--domain-name=testkrispy.co.uk" failed with error code 1: PHP 5 is not installed
Oddly it does see PHP 5.3.15 in the Service components screen, and it's ticked 'green' in that page, so all looks well.
On trying to install a new domain using plesk I get this;
And also on pages such as webmail - it also shows 'PHP not installed' against those webmail clients which would need PHP to run.
Any way to 'force' Plesk to see that the PHP 5.3.15 version that it itself installed (and I've removed the component and re-installed using Plesk).

I've tried something found on this forum (under the 10.4 area), but that hasn't fixed it;
"C:ParallelsInstallerparallelsPANEL-WIN_11.0.9dist-msi-Microsoft-2003-i386php53.msi" you will have an option for "repair" - ran that, no difference.
So as it stands, Plesk 11 is running, and most functions work, it just doesn't recognise the PHP install that it put in place... so I can't add software which requires PHP through Plesk, nor add new domains. All existing domains are running and using PHP fine - so it's installed OK.
One error I've noticed on startup - within the PHP error log, is the following - which I'm guessing is coming from the Plesk's own PHP executable (I can see it uses a 5.3.10 version in it's own admin area, with an extended php.ini file? ) I'm guessing the plesk's php.ini extension is trying to double load some dlls (which isn't a problem?) but seems to not find the php_sockets.dll - although that file is in the directory specified!? If it's a php dll around network sockets, maybe it is trying to use those to communicate with a running php instance? (Just guessing here?)

In plesk, ProFTPD ftpserver is showing as installed.
Any time I attempt to create a customer, subscription, domain, anything I get the error "The password should be between 5 and 20 characters in length.". The password is exactly like that. On some pages it gives an error to the username I chose and the error just explains what a username is (??)....
The only actual error I've seen is one from creating an account via the command line. It was a PHP error relating to a function having issues with the encoding or something. (I think this is only relating to sending feedback though?)

I need to redirect page from subdomain to a new subdomain
Example:
esp.site.com/oldpage -> es.site.com/newpage (different subdomain)
esp.site.com/oldpage1 -> es.site.com/newpage
esp.site.com/oldpage2 -> es.site.com/newpage
Source site is very chaotic and there are no clear rule for redirection (no regex )
So I need to redirect every page but syntax:
Redirect 301 esp.site.com/oldpage http:// es.site.com/newpage
doesn't work!
which is the correct syntax ?
Can I manage all from one .htaccess file in main root (www) or should I create "esp" directory (and point old subdomain to it - one for every language) and put .htaccess in every directory with redirection ?
Hostgator.com's cheapest package "Hatchling" does not allow parked domain. Does that mean I will have to register/purchase a new domain name from them directly?
