Can I Point MX Record For Third-party Domain To Yahoo Small Biz Mail?
My client has a domain registered at GoDaddy and a Yahoo Small Business email package.
The only info I can find on Yahoo suggests I need to redelegate the domain's name servers to Yahoo, and I'd rather not do this if I can help it.
Is it possible to simply leave the name servers at GoDaddy and point the MX record to Yahoo's servers?
I don't see anything on Yahoo saying it won't work, but then I see nothing to suggest it will either!

Point My MX Record To CPanel's
I wanted to point my MX record from my registrar's dns to a hosted account that is controlled by cPanel, but inside cPanel I don't see a unique MX record, it just lists my domain name. Is this possible with cPanel? I have done this before with H-Sphere. I am just parking my domain and using my registrar's nameservers and wanted to just add in the MX record for email.

Small Hosts With Proven Track Record
Often when it comes to choosing or recommending a host, I tend to favor the ones that are larger, and more established such as Hotgator or Downtown Host. But in some other threads, I have seen plenty of people swear by some smaller hosts. Are there some good examples of small hosts that have been around for 3 or more years and have a great reputation?

Expected Maximum Traffic For Yahoo Small Business?
I am a customer of Yahoo Small Business unlimited hosting. I am running Joomla (CMS) with jreviews which uses PHP and MySQL. I now need to expand my review and rating website to earn some profits. According to my business plan, I would need atleast a 1000-2000 unique visitors a day to actually earn off the website to afford a VPS. My question is, can Yahoo Small Business "Unlimited" hosting plan sustain that number under the usage of Joomla? I have been trying to find an answer to this for a long long time but to no avail. I know that "unlimited" is actually a marketing tactic and that one must move to VPS or Dedicated servers for serious traffic. But I cannot move to a VPS before I earn something from the website initially due to lack of funds. Can I expect to be tension free till the range of 1000-2000 uniques/day?

3rd Party Mailserver Rejects Incoming Mail
We switched to a 3rd party mail server provided by our local ISP, however when attempts are made to mail anyone on our domain a message similar to one of the following is received: Quote: This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently: my_email_address@our_domain Technical details of permanent failure: PERM_FAILURE: SMTP Error (state 13): 550 5.7.1 <my_email_address@our_domain>... Relaying denied or Quote: Hi. This is the qmail-send program. I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses. This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out. <my_email_address@our_domain>: 70.43.63.21 does not like recipient. Remote host said: 550 5.7.1 <my_email_address@our_domain>... Relaying denied Giving up on 70.43.63.21. I've made sure the MX records are in place on our nameserver, and I've verified this with DNS Stuff. I seem to think the problem is on our ISP's end.

Send Mail From Web Form Using 3rd Party SMTP
I have a CDONTS script which has been sending mail from a client's website form to their address. However, the script has suddenly stopped working. It doesn't error, they just don't receive the mail. I've tried CCing myself in the script and the mail is not getting through. The script itself is tried and tested and syntaxially correct. I think the problem is because they're using their own exchange server, not the web hosts' mail server. Therefore I would expect that mail sent from the web script wouldn't go through because there is no local mail server to process it. The problem is that the script hasn't changed, the host say their system hasn't changed, and the client's IT team say their exchange settings haven't changed! I could set up a CDOSYS script to use their Exchange server to deal with the email, but their IT support won't allow relaying, so I don't think this is possible. Is connecting to their Exchange box the only option, or should the website host still be able to process the web-script-generated mail despite not being their mail provider? I'm getting a lot of grief here, but it can't be the script that has suddenly broken because nobody has touched it!

DNS Subdomain Record Point To Another DNS Nameserver

Dreamhost tells me what nameservers to use for smackjeeves.com, but my Hostgator server is already serving as a nameserver. Can I have my main DNS record point to Dreamhost's DNS only for img1? Or do I need to have my img1 mimic Dreamhost's DNS for img1?

Anybody using 2 different 3rd party Managed DNS services like dnsmadeeasy.com and ultradns.com on same domain name ? Reason for doing it is because we are having resolving issues also the domain name is ".in" not ".com/net/org". Now we have added nameservers of both the providers in the domain registrar control panel. Total it has 8 name servers now. I copy pasted exactly same A records & Mx record and same ttl. Q1) The NS records on both the dns services are Different. Should i add the 1st dns providers 4 nameservers in the 2nd dns providers panel and viceversa? Point Domain To A Different Server
We are trying to implement a reseller model shopping website for our resellers. The customized shopping website for the reseller will be hosted on our website, say: abc.xyz.com We want our resellers to load abc.xyz.com from their own sub domain itself, like: shopping.abc.com I know that this can be done using a URL redirection, but is there any way that shopping.abc.com will load the contents from abc.xyz.com and still keep the URL unchanged in the address bar ? I'm not referring to URL masking using iframes and note that xyz.com and abc.com are on different servers. Does anyone know whether this is technically feasible?

Hotmail - Yahoo Mail
Nowadays it's everyone's headache for sending mails to hotmail and yahoo i guess. I am having the same problem. I add the domainkey to domains, but when i send mail to yahoo it drops to spam. I didn't tried it with hotmail, but reason for dropping spam at yahoo is probably because of no spf record. I am having a bit trouble with setting spf. I read some documents and my mind is messed up, i can't figure out what to do. My server's ip address is : xx.xx.xx.xx My server's hostname is : server.x.com and i have domains like , y.com, z.com, f.com bla bla that wants to send mail to hotmail. Those sites are using different ips, but each ip is using more than 1 site, I read that i need to setup reverse dns, but one article says i should do it for my hostname, other one says for mail server : mail.x.com. So first question how should i setup reverse dns? Second question, it says i need to add spf record for my domain, does it mean my hostname, or the domain i want to send mail ? v=spf1 a mx ptr ~all and than i should fill form at https://support.msn.com/eform.aspx?p...rid&ct=eformts and than wait. So i will be glad if someone can answer my questions and tell me if there is any missing parts.

Get Mail Delivered To Yahoo
I am looking for an expert who can help me configure my dedicated server to ensure my email gets delivered to Yahoo. I have an autoresponder script hosted on the server. The script was previously hosted with another host and I got excellent deliverability to Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail and everyone else. Unfortunately the volume of mail was too large for that host, so now I have a dedicated server. Since I moved to the dedicated server (two weeks ago), my mail does not get delivered to Yahoo. It doesn't even go into the junk mail folder. It just disappears. I am very strictt about using confirmed optin for my lists, so it's not a blacklist issue. Right from day one on the new server, my mail did not reach Yahoo. So it must be the way my server is set up. If there is someone who knows how to resolve this, I am willing to pay you to solve the problem for me. Or, if there is anyone who can give me some advice, that would be much appreciated.

Re-routing Yahoo Mail
business is just getting out of hand. I applied several weeks ago for Whitelist status, and my issues finally went away for a little over a week (though I never received a response to my Postmaster requests). But then today -bam- 100% deferrals for going on 18 hours now, not a single message has gone through. And naturally no two Yahoo servers give me the same error message. So... At this point I'm ready to contract out my Outbound mail to Yahoo through a whitelisted 3rd party until I can get this resolved on my end. Would this be reasonable? Is anyone else doing this? I worked with an outsourced SMTP provider in another life for an internal company mailing list with good success.

New Domain Name, How To Point It To My Server 2003 System

I have also changed the nameserver to my no-ip domain name. Nothing is happening. I have also googled dns.. If I want to point my domain directly to my server do I need to go and install Active Directory and then dns or can I just install DNS, do I even need to do this?? Setting Up Domain To Point And Mask To The Hosting Service
I have a domain name from godaddy and recently got a host plan in hostgator. As this is the first time I use hosting, it is very confusing how to set it up properly. So far what I figured out and was able to set is the DNS in godaddy and the add-on domain in hostgator. So now I was able to point 'MyDomain' to direct to 'hostgatorDomain/MyFolder/' (names just for example). The problem is that masking is not turned on and who ever clicks 'MyDomain' will get to the right location, but the address will change to 'hostgatorDomain/MyFolder/'. How to do the set up so the URL will not change?

Received-SPF: pass (google.com: domain of webmaster@vbulletin.org designates 209.62.16.134 as permitted sender) client-ip=209.62.16.134; Authentication-Results: mx.google.com; spf=pass (google.com: domain of webmaster@vbulletin.org designates 209.62.16.134 as permitted sender) smtp.mail=webmaster@vbulletin.org Mails sent from this server are sent to SPAM folder by default: Received-SPF: neutral (google.com: 66.90.101.249 is neither permitted nor denied by domain of zahidon_4u@yahoo.com) client-ip=66.90.101.249; Authentication-Results: mx.google.com; spf=neutral (google.com: 66.90.101.249 is neither permitted nor denied by domain of zahidon_4u@yahoo.com) smtp.mail=zahidon_4u@yahoo.com One thing i am sure is there is something that needs to be fixed in WHM. Firing Back At Yahoo For Their Inconsiderate Mail Service
We've installed domainkeys, SPF, and taken all measures suggested by Yahoo but customer e-mails continue to be delayed for days at times. And then of course they end up in the recipients junk folder. Worst of all is that Yahoo does not care to take the time to help or inform ISP's. No explanations, just generic tips. So I was wondering if there is some sort of exim or sendmail script (procmail?) we can create that will do the following: For every e-mail sent to Yahoo, the mail server sends another one to the recipient with a notice saying something like: Attempts to deliver this e-mail to you were rejected by Yahoo mail service X number of times [or delayed X hours/days]. If this is unsatisfactory, we suggest you contact Yahoo support for a resolution.

Some of the alerting tools my client use are too stupid and don't support SSL or TLS, so they don't work with the pop/smtp services google apps uses. Can I setup this ensim box to utilize it's smtp server to send mail as user@site.com even though the mail is hosted by google apps? I guess it's kinda like e-mail spoofing.

Yahoo Is Blocking Our Domain Name Emails
We are only a small construction business in NEW Zealand, and send very few emails. But from the 4th April, Yahooo has started blocking all emails from our domain name? We hve not done bulk newsletters, we have not had bulk reject messages. Our website/ email host is Clevernet. YAhoo NZ have sent us a bulk email form, which Clevernet submitted. We then had to get another approved server form filled out by Cleverney which they did last Friday, but our email domain is still blocked. Xtra/ Yahoo NZ< seem to think there is nothing they can do, but wait and see if Yahoo unblock it. There does not seem to be anyone who we can contact at the Yahoo server. NZ say they cant contact anyone at Yahoo. We seem to be stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Pointing Domain From Yahoo To Go Daddy Servers
I have a customer who registered his domain name with yahoo he now wants to point that domain to a hosting account that I have started for him at GoDaddy. Should be simple but it has been anything but. He has emailed Yahoo several times with no response, he has called their tech-line only to be told he needs to email them instead. We finally figured out through GoDaddy that Yahoo registers through Melbourne IT. He has tryed calling Melbourne they are in turn asking for a 12 digit registration number that my customer does not have. Melbourne told him he needs to get this from Yahoo, Yahoo says they do not give registration numbers out. This leaves my customer with only 2 options, either register a brand-new domain through GoDaddy or go with Yahoo for hosting. Has anyone else experienced this? Did you ever finally get through and get things transfered?

Creating A Real Mail Using A Domain Name
i have just asked about it a local hosting copany and they show unable to understand what i was asking in the beginning and to give me a proper reply when they finally did. What i want is to create several mail accounts using my domain names (several mail accounts for each domain name using it) The usual answer is to use mail forwarding that every registrar offer for free when you register a domain name with them. So you get a free mail account amail@gmail.com domain name adomain.com and you create a forwarding such as amail@adomain.com to amail@gmail.com then you give amail@adomain.com so they can write to you using that fake mail, the message will bounce in your registrar and will send it to amail@gmail.com but what if i want a real amail@adomain.com mail because i want to write replies from that address. With mail forwarding as long as i know you can receive mail using the fake mail forwarding address but as mail is not a real one you then are forced to reply from the real account behing the forwarding one amail@gmail.com Can i do that, is that a service included in hosting plans or somewhere. Or am i wrong and its simpler than that.

Different E-mail/Web Server But Same Domain Name
I was wondering if someone might be able to help me out. I've been trying to get this figured out for the past week and have not had any success. Here is my problem, I have one domain name, I have the Web services provided on one server, and I need my e-mail provided on a different server for the same domain. I can't seem to figure out how to get my e-mail set up that is on a different server. I really need to get my e-mail going because it's very important. I think this has something to do with updating the MX records and some other stuff but I have no idea how to do it through my registrars control panel that they have. I registered it through Go Daddy.
