Adult Hosting, EU Based, Small Package

Jun 17, 2009

I am looking for a host that allow adult content.

it is to be used for a blog, wordpress based with a minimum of space requirements.

EU based is a must have.

currently it is using 25mb + 200mb bw/month.

I need it to be cpanel based and with awstats.

Mysql is not required as it is hosted aldready.

so I am looking for something reliable with a fair amount of space/bw for a small monthly price.

not required but a nice thing to have would be the posibility for more domains on the account.

Eny host you can recommend for this?

Host For CMS Based Small Business Site

Apr 22, 2008

I am currently facing a move from my existing web host, as they are altogether incompetent. Four of the last five days, my site has either been down, showing a suspended page, or redirecting to the main page of the host. (I am a legitimate business - not selling penis enlargement supplements)

So now, I need a good host, who will provide maximum value for dollar spent. My requirements are fairly simple. I need 5 SQL databases, the ability to install and configure a CMS of my choosing, and a site that is based in the US. (I need my site to be US based and listed, for very specific reasons)

I have used Rochen in the past, and am very happy with them. However, I want my sites on a different host, as several of my other sites are cross linked.

Finding services in such a competitive field is overwhelming. It's getting too hard to cut through the BS.

Reseller Web Hosting Package

Mar 27, 2007

to start a web design and hosting business and am in need of some hosting for it all...

I've looked at the reseller hosting at [url] which looks good, but they said that I cannot host a 'file distribution' web site. Because one of the sites I will be hosting is an eCommerce application that sells videos for download, I'm not sure whether this would be allowed. I read the SLA and I think it would be, as long as the bandwidth didn't exceed 25GB per month.

I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of other web hosting packages that might be suitable for everything I need (PHP4, PHP5, MySQL) that weren't too expensive. I don't really want to pay more than £40 per month.

Ideally I'd like unlimited bandwidth and data transfer and web space, but if not, at least enough for a good number of sites!

Small Business Web Hosting

Jul 18, 2008

I just joined this forum because I want to let as many people as possible know about a horrible experience that I had with my last small business web hosting company: LogicWeb.

Then I would love to hear other people's horror stories about companies they hate and praises about companies they like.

Let me just say that I had originally signed up with another company that was bought by LogicWeb. I had their VPS package and the biggest problem was the customer service which used to be good under the other company. Run into a little problem, send them an email and have to wait three days for a response. A response that generally said something like "we don't cover that."

So, anyhow, I found another small business web hosting company and then tried to cancel with LogicWeb. Sent them email after email and I was still getting billed. Finally, I found their cancellation form buried on their site and submitted a cancellation with a note stating that I had sent several emails trying to cancel.

A couple of weeks later, I get another bill in my email box so I decide to call them up. I'm on the phone with a guy and tell him that I have been trying to cancel for three months and the first thing he says is, "I don't think you're being honest."

"What?" I say not believing that that could be the first thing he says to me. "I think you're lying."

"Well, I'm not lying and I resent this conversation so far."

"Well, you are lying. It's only been two months since you stopped using our system."

"So, because I'm off by one month, you call me a liar?"

"Yes, because liars lie!"

I couldn't believe it! I couldn't believe that any small business web hosting service would call their client a liar even if they were lying. So, I made a mistake and got pissed and cursed!

"I can't believe you're calling me a ****ing liar! I've never ever been called a liar before. Let me speak to your supervisor!"

"Well, I'm the owner and I'm recording this conversation and if you're going to use foul language with me then I'll just report you to my collections department!"

I say, "Let me get this straight. You say that I'm lying and call me a liar, something no business person should ever do to a client, and just because I say '****ing' because I'm insulted, you're pissed at me? Well, if you are going to hang up on me then let me just finish with this... you are a ****ing *******!"

I don't know how much worse a business owner can act with a customer and I highly recommend avoiding LogicWeb since they are the worst small business web hosting around.

Small Business Hosting ...

Feb 2, 2008

It is looking like I am going to have to leave IX hosting. They have a bandwidth problem on my shared server that they cannot seem to solve. I am experiencing slow loading & slow interactive features. Ping times can exceed 500ms during peak hours EST. I have run tracerts that show them specifically that the bottleneck is between thier server and quest-comm and they still cant seem to get a handle on it. This has been going on for a month and I have given them till tuesday.

So, this leaves me to prepare to move my clients' sites UGH! My parameters are somewhat unique which makes it a little tougher to pick a new host. My clients sites are all small local business sites ranging from 5 to 60 pages. I need very little storage space and I use very little bandwidth. However, I do need unlimited domains, ASP support and I really like IX's web shell feature. I will also be doing some e-commerce in the near futures.

I am spending a paltry 7.95 per month with IX. I may spend as much as $20 per month for the right service. Beyond my afformentioned specific requirments, I want a host that is established, proven reliable, in the states, has their own real bricks and mortar facility and a stellar reputation with the experienced web guys.

I have contacted a few that I have seen mentioned here but many dont support ASP and many require a dedicated server deal to host unlimited domains, which of course, is outside my cost requirements.

Setting Up New Domain With Hosting Package

Jul 7, 2008

I ordered a domain from Name and a shared hosting package from Hawk Host. How do I set them up so they work together? I thought all I had to do was add the Hawk Host name servers to my Name account but that doesn't seem to be helping. I don't have any webpages up yet but I do have some files uploaded to be used as a redirect for a game server. The redirect isn't loading properly most of the time and when I type my domain name into a browser my directory won't show up either, just the parking page. I ordered both of these last week.

Semi Adult Web Hosting

Aug 2, 2005

I have never worked with an adult oriented website before, so I really don't know a whole lot about the arena. I might be making a web site for an exotic dancer that may contain explicit photographs (no sex, topless images probably). This is more of a homepage, not a pay for membership adult site.

Anyways, whenever I have signed on with a host in the past they all seem to have the uniform user agreement that states no pornography, warez, etc. Would this type of thing be considered a pornographic web site? If so, are there any hosts that provide affordable shared web hosting that allow this, or would I be forced to get a dedicated server or something?

Just trying to get a feel for how much of a pain in the butt this could end up being, I might decide not to do it if this will require some expensive specialty hosting. Any advice would be appreciated.

Best Adult Hosting Site!?

Jul 28, 2008

I'm after some hosting for some adult content (nothing too bad!) as my current host won't allow it (no big loss, they're atrocious anyway)

Preferably something UK or US based, not too bothered either way as long as it's fairly reasonable in price and has a good service.

Not sure about bandwidth limits, to say the site is in it's early stages would be an understatement, but something flexible would be good.

i've been with cirtex for 1 month and in that month i've had my account suspended due to high cpu usage.. and the sites mysql has been down due to disc space full cos they didnt clear the tmp folder.. all in the space of one month..

My site gets currently 4,000 uniques per day with around 13,000 page views..

its a tube site however the videos are embedded from another site so bandwidth is relativly low at around 4gb/dayso if anyone else runs a similar site i'd like to know who you host with and if you get many problems.

Small Business E-commerce Hosting

Jul 8, 2008

I've been poking around here for a few evenings trying to find someone else who's asked just the same question I need to ask, but I'm not really seeing it.

My situation is this. I am writing a website in ASP.Net 2.0 for a small business. I do web development for a living, so the database admin, asp/vb.net coding is not an issue. However, I've never dealt with the hosting side of things.

I need the following:

1) ability to host two different domains using some shared DLLs that provide funtionality used by both sites. I've read that some hosting companies won't let you put DLLs on their servers, so I'm not sure if I can do this.

2) Ability to send and recieve e-mails at "mydomain.com". I think this is a no-brainer.

3) Ability to use SQL Server express.

4) We will be taking orders with credit card numbers, so I need to be able to do HTTPS and I need to know my data will be secure.

5) obviously, I need a server that has the .Net 2.0 framework on it.

Best Budget Hosting Package For My Phpbb3 Forum

Jul 12, 2008

I have found this forum through searching google for articles etc about the best/cheapest host for a small forum, and I think this is the best place to ask I have searched the many topics on this but none of them quite answer my question, so I apologise for repeating what may have already been done.

Anyway....

I currently use a free host (forumotion) and have become increasingly frustrated at not having total control over my forum, and not having access to the database.

I figure now will be a good time to move as the forum is only a couple of months old.

So what I am looking for is a basic hosting package including domain name, that can support phpbb version 3. Im looking for cheap and cheerful basically. I dont know enough about this kind of thing to elaborate, but here are my forum stats;

Number of posts 10781
Posts per day 121.13
Number of topics 625
Topics per day 7.02
Number of users 153
Users per day 1.72
Most users ever online 40
Stats generated on Tue Jul 08, 2008 2:31 am
Avatar directory size 1016.43 KB

As you can see it is pretty small.....it may grow over the next couple of years but has a shelf life of 2010 as that is when the TV show finishes (its a Lost forum), and it may continue for a while after that but I dont expect it to go on and on and on

We have a lot of media posted, mainly youtube vids and jpeg, and we also have a small aracde, so i'm guessing I would need a lot of room there? Plus we have newsletters that would need to be hosted as online versions but they are just html documents.

I hope I have given enough information....oh budget wise I am looking at cheapest possible as I dont want to start charging members to fund the hosting costs.

ADULT Hosting - A Few Specific Questions

Nov 13, 2008

I had a few specific questions about ADULT hosting. I've been refining an idea I had for an adult website after getting some good feedback from this site, but I had a few specific questions I still need addressed. If you think this forum is the wrong place to be asking about this, do you happen to know of any other forums that specialize in discussing adult web hosting?

My general plan is to set up a video-based adult site that charges people money (a monthly fee) to see the premium content. I have a general idea about my start-up investments, but not necessary how much each would cost, and I'm trying to put together a budget. If anyone could help me fill in some of these blanks I would really appreciate it!!

I'll need a lawyer to set up site disclaimers, contracts, etc. - I assume this will be a few hundred dollars - does this sound correct?

I need to build the site- this is where I'm not sure about costs. The general specifications are like any other adult website - users pay to register - so I would go with one of the established companies that deals with secure online credit card transactions - any ideas which ones are good? How much do they normally take?

Users then can watch the videos, rate and give feedback. Since I don't really know any programming besides HTML, I'm assuming I need to hire someone to build the site and make sure it is secure. I'm also assuming this will be the most expensive part of the investment. Can someone give me some estimates about this? Are there general templates online that I can use that will save money? Is guru.com a trusted place to hire programmers? Is this something I could do myself without spending years learning a new programming language? How DO I make the site secure, and how can I keep people from stealing my premium content and posting it on other sites? I'm obviously trying to make this as cheap as possible without sacrificing all the quality - but unfortunately I have thousands to invest and not tens of thousands (i don't know if this will be a problem or not).
Also - hosting. I was told that a popular adult video site will cost a fortune in bandwidth. If I'm charging a monthly membership fee I'm hoping that can offset the costs. Can someone recommend good, scalable adult video hosting - and give me a general idea about what kind of server I need, how much bandwidth etc. I figure since this is membership driven I can start small and then increase bandwidth depending on how many members join, so I'm always making a profit. Does that sound realistic?

Finally, can adult pay sites still make money today? Not just a couple bucks here and there, but enough so I can eventually quit my day job?

The wonderful feedback I got here before helped me to reshape my ideas, and now I'd like to begin the next steps. Thank you all very much again for ANY help you can give me - I sincerely appreciate all the generous, knowledgeable people that make this forum a pleasure to visit!
