from some time, the plesk password is no more stored in chrome.I mean that even I delete all passwords/history etc chrome don't ask to save password...so something changed in the login page I suppose.from same time every time I connect to any plesk panel. Chrome say that it's not safe and I have to click "advanced" to continue, even it's a new installation make some minute before.
I have an app that opens a new browser window to a URL that opens a PDF file at a named destination. For example: URL.....I need to authenticate each user that enters this link, but preferably only once per browser session (valid until user closes browser). This authentication process needs to be performed by an oracle-database stored procedure (via a Java servlet, or other technology). Any outline steps or reference link?
The idea would be when the user enters this link, that a popup window appears asking for a username and password, which then get verified by the stored procedure, and then, and only then, the URL address is allowed to proceed.I know I can implement password protection in `.htaccess` as follows.
But, I need this process to connect to the stored procedure to validate the user, because this stored procedure has to apply business logic to determine the users' subscription status, etc., which can change at any time.
today i changed the password for the admin panel for a customer (username eg. mylogin). 10 minutes later he called me and said that he cannot get into his emailaccount anymore. Checked the password and saw that the emailpassword for his emailaddress (eg. mylogin@mydomain.com) is now the same from the admin panel login. So i changed the emailpassword and checked the admin panel login - it now has the emailpassword. What a mess.. I'm running Plesk Panel 11.5.30 MU47.
I am just a newbie with linux and ssh.I know that we can control the server with ssh. SSH is faster and more secure than Web control.I need your help about with ssh:How to change the email password? How to add email address? How to disable/remove email address? How to forward email?Pleaser help me with one or more question above. My Server installed with Centos 4.4 with Cpanel 10.Thank you so much in advance.Longpt
When you click on "Forgot your password?" in Plesk for Linux 11, you'll get an email like this: Dear <firstname>Your password could not be sent because it is stored in the encrypted form.To set up a new password, please follow the link: <link to reset password>
How can I change that? It's a bit sparse and it doesn't even include a email signature with the company name.
I'm wondering where are the linux Sys V semaphores stored? It seems that at least CentOS 5/5.1 stores them in files but I'm hoping that they are stored in RAM, so are they stored in files or in RAM? I'd also like to know how they have been programmed, as in how they work. I tried to google for both questions but for some reason I can't find the answers.
I paid a programmer to make me a custom image script. Everything works perfect... the only problem is that all images are being stored in the same folder, will that make my server too slow? we are talking about thousands of images
Ubuntu 12.04.4 LTS Panel version 11.5.30 Update #45
The data stored in roundcube webmail (like contacts and signatures ), located in the database table "roundcubemail", is not transferred when migrating the whole server, customer or the domain that uses it. Also in the backup server, account, domain this data is not included.
I think it's a real problem if a customer with many mailboxes, who only uses roundcube, needs a backup or wants to migrate to another server. Ok, this data could be exported in rounbcube with a few mouse clicks, but it´s not very comfortable. In my opinion this should be included in the backup and also in the migration process (migration manager).
restore a VPS onto a different server due to a hardware failure. The new VPS is up and running and I can apache is displaying the cPanel WHM login panel ok. So I know the VPS is fine.
However, my WHM username/password are no longer working.
What options do I have resetting the password for the WHM? I have full access to the shell of the VPS (root access).
i have a dedicated server with CENTOS Enterprise 4.6 i686 on standard i have main problem that there is an account on my server that the password can enter the FTP account normally but not enter the Cpanel i see that if the coanel pass is 951753 he can not log in the cpanel but can enter FTP why this problem ? and how to resolve it
am having some issues with cpanel's password changing. password of a user changes fine from shell, changes fine from WHM. however no luck in the user's cpanel.
error i get is:
Quote:
There was an error manipulating the password file. This generally means you entered your old password incorrectly. The following services were updatedif any)
Changing password for user xxxxxxx. Changing password for xxxxxxx (current) UNIX password: passwd: Authentication token manipulation error
i'm looking into this user's directory, and oddly see that the /etc/<domain>/passwd and shadow and quota files are all 0 bytes. but i can log in with the password i set from whm.
permissions on these 3 files are -rw-r--r-- which seems normal, plus ownership is <username>-mail.
I searched the forum articles but couldn not find specifically what I wanted.. just learning with my dedicated server...
I want to change my cpanel password and ftp password but NOT change the msql server password. I tried to do it in WHM it also changes the database to my website and causes it to go down. (so I changed it back)
I tried to change it under: [URL to actual WHM removed] Password Modification in WHM but it changed the databse program as well.
Again all I want to change is the Cpanel acces and main FTP pass
Im doing this to keep old programmers out of my server)
I use WHM and have a client that lost access to cpanel because the site's owner (an organization) turned over the management of the site to a new person. The previous person never used the site so he forgot the password to get into cpanel and ftp. I can login to the site using my WHM password, but I cannot change his password in cpanel because I don't know the old one. How can reset it?
I'm having a problem with a hacker...using insecure scripts on my user's accounts he changes Cpanel passwords. I do not understand how a script running as user nobody would change a Cpanel password. Any ideas on that ?
I am using mod security (rules from gotroot.com), register_globals are disabled. I also disabled the password reset feature as I thought the hacker may be resetting the passwords and then reading the new password from the email account on the server using the insecure script.
Unfortunately this guy simply doesn't stop...he seems to have a reverse DNS list or something. He is only attacking accounts on one specific server of mine but I am pretty sure he doesn't have root access.
