but there are many parameters;
which is that good?
I would like to replicate all that I have inner a folder to oneother;
so at the finish they must to hawe the identically content;
but I see, that some parameters can change symlink etc...
I want one clone exactly .
the originally folder have at inner directory,subdirectory, files htaccess etc..
How To Transfer Huge Files Without Shell Access
Feb 8, 2008transfer a client's site files (over 220 MB) to my server. The client does not use cPanel or have SSH access.
FTP is horribly tedious. I have created the account on my server and have SSH enabled. I have a feeling I can use wget to download the files to the account's home directory, but I am not sure of the correct syntax to recursively download all the directories and the files.
Shell Script To Copy And Rename Files
Aug 27, 2007To automate a task, I need to create a shell script that will allow me to copy the folder blank/ to a new location and rename it to news/, same for the files inside that directory. And, if possible, change the content of one of those files as well.
For example, I need to copy this:

but my users can upload shell hack files (Like:c99 ) then they can access to another website ,,,, they can`t Write ,,, they can Read files only
but there is a problem because the hacker will read the config files so my Database websites will hack soon

Sep 2, 2013I think the wrong text is displayed for the option "Remove Domain Alias".
In Plesk 11.5.30 Update #13, in a Webspace, on the Websites & Domains tab, if I click an alias, a window appears for the alias with the option to "Remove Domain Alias". If I move the cursor over the text "Remove Domain Alias", or click on the link, I see a pop-up: Removing this website will also delete all related files, directories, and web applications from the server.
I think this is incorrect because removing an alias should not remove any files, directories, and web applications.

Jul 22, 2009ive got a site which auto creates subdomains and installs a script automaticly and inserts details into a mysql db. i have had some issues recent so have loads (talking 100s) of folders that are empty which i need to remove, and to remove the details of said folder from db also. any ideas how i can do this, using plesk control panel so removing the subdomain via plesk cli may be the best way in that respect but the db is external to plesk so that would not be edited

Jan 2, 2008I couldn't keep my mouth shut (technically fingers). A customer wanted to upgrade servers and he needed a way to move the data across. Since I don't allow hard drives to be swapped, they have to do it manually all by themselves. I generally allow up-to 4 days for them to transfer data and make DNS changes, etc. But this time, I offered help! I agreed to move the data (darn me) and it just came out of me, involuntarily.
God knows what just happened... but in a positive way, customer is extremely happy!
So...
Both servers are on cPanel - with root access (duh)
200 odd files which total to 25 GB
1 database about 100 MB in size (no biggie)
I was planning on using one of my Windows 2003 servers (via remote desktop) to download the 25 GB and upload the 25 GB, but that sounds like a waste of resources and time.

I want to allow user to run few processes on machine (debian etch).
I configurated limits at /etc/security/limits.conf for group "shell".
When I attached user to group shell, limits work well, but he still can look
everywhere on system. (he can do cat /home/somefile.txt, even owned by root).
Is there any method, software to limit user to acces only their home directories?

SSH/Shell Not Connecting
Apr 16, 2005I'm having a problem connecting to SSH/Shell on my server. I get the Login Prompt, but when i enter the User/Pass i just get "SSH-2.0-OpenSSH_3.6.1p2", everything under that is blank.
I've restarted the SSH Server and made sure the account i was using was set to use Normal Shell (not jailed). What could be the problem?

How To Program In Shell ?

1) checks for the number of a script running say, "ps aux | grep php | wc -l" returns that number.
2) deletes temp files folders "cd /to/that/directory/; rm -fr *&" every 90 seconds IF that number in check #1 is below say 50....
and then have this shell script launched in shell every so often, not sure on the frequency but first is how to program in shell is a TIME DELAY....

If it`s .com domain, for example, I would be able to easy change NS1 and NS2, but since this is ccTLD (and we will wait 10-15 days) I need quick solution for DNS forwarding.
ns1.oldnameserver -> ns1.newnamerserver
ns2.oldnamesrever -> ns2.newnamerserver
se when I run ping for example, I have to have reply from new server.
I have shell access but I don`t know how to modify zone or named, since obviously I can not do this using whm.

Jailed Shell On A VPS
Apr 2, 2007On a VPS I am using, I was astonished to see that when I login through SSH to a WHM account, I can go right up to the VPS system directories, do an ls, read the files etc. the user is able to get into the all the VPS directories, except root.
It's fine in FTP. Although I can see the link to the directory above home, clicking on it does not take the user to those directories.
When I ask my service provider, they say, "Yes, this is normal behavior. The users will still be able to move into the other users' home directories but they will not be able to write to the files or open them".
It seems to me this isn't a good situation. How can I prevent shell users from going beyond their home directories? Is implementing a jailed shell a good option? Can I use this feature that is readily available in WHM?
How Do I Run A Cgi Script As Shell

I've saved it as a text file called "portwatch", and uploaded to my server. But no matter how I chmod it in FTP and call it in shell, I get a permission denied error. Can someone shed some light on how I'm supposed to run this script in shell?
