Aug 27, 2014Is it possible to get Plesk working with different bounce message templates? I'd like to make messages in my Polish language to make people know what the bounce problem is. How can I make plesk not to overwrite the main.cf and bounce directive ?

I'm using Postfix 2.7.1 on Debian 6 with Plesk 11.0.9.
Currently the text of a bounce mail shows:
This is the mail system at host example.org.
Your message could not be delivered to one or more recipients. It's attached below.
For further assistance, please send mail to postmaster. If you do so, please include this problem report. You can delete your own text from the attached returned message.

And I'd like to get rid of address <_plesk_bounce_example.org@localhost.localdomain>.
I added the bouce file template to Postfix's config by:

Restarted postfix.

Plesk 12.x / Linux :: Postfix CPU Usage Increases Then Postfix Doesn't Answer
Jul 2, 2014My issue started ince a couple of months seemed to increase with update to Plesk 12.0 (though I can't guarantee it).I am using Centos 6.5, all updated. What happens is that postfix usage starts to increase without any apparent reason (during week-ends for example). Then postfix is not responding anymore.

Feb 6, 2007I have just noticed that for several days I'm constantly receiving these infos in /var/log/messages. I haven't done anything that would invoke them. How can I disable these messages? Are they anything to worry about?

Mar 31, 2009We developed an Exim server on debian that sending mails outside to our customers. It's an IP based auth server. For bounce reporting and management, what would you recommend us?
Is there anything like; send all bouncing mails that sent from this server to myaccount@gmail.com? We need this to be done in MTA level..

May 23, 2007I have a catchall for a domain that has been used for years, e.g. vendor1@mydomain.com, vendor2@mydomain.com. Unfortunately, thanks to the fact that maiming spammers is still against the law, I have to live with the fact that the world can no longer have catchall accounts with any usability. One particular jackass is using my domain to spoof numerous idiotic emails. He uses some combo of bulltek*****@mydomain.com. While I am transitioning all of my emails to either 1 account or forward individually each vendor account, how can I bounce emails using that set above?
I'm also looking for something better than spam assassin to prevent email and which will provide more options and a better interface.
Of note, this method of vendor@domain.com worked well because I was able to identify vendors who sold my email address to spam me...

Oct 23, 2008The Non-Profit I work for uses IXWebhosting for our webhost and to manage email accounts. For the past 2 months whenever we send emails to anyone @baaqmd.gov, we receive CNAME bounceback errors.
I have contacted IXWebhosting and they say that their DNS server's aren't registering baaqmd.gov and that I need to contact baaqmd.gov. Well I've been in constant contact with baaqmd.gov's IT guy and they are receiving emails just fine from outside agencies. In fact, when I send a test email using GMAIL to baaqmd.gov, they receive it just fine.
To further confuse me, we receive emails fine from BAAQMD.gov.

Oct 1, 2014I just configured the limit for outgoing mail. It works well, but I have still some questions.
Normally the server sends bounce messages in HTML and in german. They look nice and what is much more important, the users who do not speak english are informed what is going on.
The message that is send, when the limit for outgoing mail is exceeded uses a different template. It is delivered in plain text and after explaining in german that the mail could not be send, it states the reason in english.
Is there any way to edit this bounce message, so that a translation could be added?
I had some users complaining that the server is not working, because they tried again and again to send a mail and kept the counter over the limit. For they did not understand what was causing it.
Email Bounce With "full" Error
Feb 11, 2008I have a user that has most of the emails sent to him bouncing back. The bounced email error is that his inbox is full.
I know it is not full, I looked at it myself, and his quota is set to unlimited.
Any idea what could be the cause? Where should I start to figure this one out?

Oct 19, 2007I'm currently having trouble with Postfix. I recently installed some new web hosting software (ispCP) and so some new configs were written for all my software. Postfix was one of them and I can't figure out what's wrong with it.
Whenever I send e-mails to my server, Postfix denies it saying "Unknown address error 554: Relay access denied". The logs say NOTHING about it and I've been trying the old configs on Postfix and still nothing works.

Jul 6, 2007I tried following the directions about 'The Perfect Setup' for SuSE 10.1 for my email server and finally got it to work, but now I am having issues with error messages!
In my /var/log/mail file I get tons of:

Aug 1, 2008I recently moved to a VPS and installed Postfix onto it as my mail server. But I have following problems with its consistent working:
1. I experience that every now and then (once in 2 weeks) , it stops sending mails and put them in the mail queue with the following error:
Host or domain name not found. Name service error for name= type=MX: mysite.com not found, try again
I am not sure why it says so. However if I try to restart my mail server /etc/init.d/postfix restart and then try to flush the mails out of queue they are sent successfully. I am not sure where the problem is.
2. Secondly, I see that the header of my mails contains the hostname of my VPS machine "gospel" which is ofcourse not intended. How can I have my domain name in the mail headers?

Currently I have set it to discard messages marked as spam and messages that doesn't have a proper ascii header (Eliminates mail from chinese & japanese spammers). But how do I make postfix to move spam to "Junk" (or such) folder, not to discard it.
Current /etc/postfix/header_checks:

I did found something that could help, but didn't know how to apply it to my configuration, and it seems to be Php code for ispconfig.

Jan 25, 2007I'm having some SMTP server security issues. I am running Postfix on my Debian VPS and I am trying to disable Postfix from being publically used by anybody except those with webmail.
I read Postfix's configuration at Postfix.org, but I couldn't find anything that I thought to be relevent to this situation. Do any of you have suggestions or ways to fix this? Besides disabling e-mail all together?
As another detail, I'm running Postfix on its original config, not through a MySQL database config.

Mar 2, 2007I've got virtualmin installed and configured and working beautifully, and I'm able to add email accounts and have them checked by dovecot. Now I'm trying to work the SMTP side of things, but I'm stuck.
What's happening here is that when I attempt to send an email through Postfix, it replies with 'relay access denied'
I've searched google and tried various things, but none of them have worked so far. I can post any configuration files you need. After I get this working, I get to add another domain and see if the settings work there too
