My Server Ip Address Is Blocked By Hotmail

I cannot send emails to name@hotmail.com from any of sites hosted on my server. No mass emails. no unusual activities. Even though they blocked it. I filled out their forms but they didn't remove the block.

One of my VPS clients has had all of the ip addresses on his server blocked/blacklisted on the hotmail service, he cannot send email to or recieve email from anyone with a hotmail email address, does anyone have any ideas on a solution, other than changing all the ip's on his vps?

When my forum sends out emails to Hotmail users, I always get this message back:

My IP in clean from any blacklist/RBL databases but hotmail is blocking with the error message below:-

I have blocked an IP both in host.deny AND in iptables...and the guy is still able to access my server...any suggestions or something to look for.

for about only 3 months running, my server iptables has 36 ipaddresses blocked so far (most of them are from .edu.cn and .edu.tw, dunno why? maybe because of summer break hehe..).
Those IP got blocked mostly because of SSH bruteforce. Everytime I noticed any SSH bruteforce on my /var/log/secure, I just issued "iptables -A INPUT -p all -s [ipaddress] -j DROP"
so, I'm just curious, how about yours ? how many IP in your blocked lists?

I have a hotmail address importer script which when a valid hotmail email and password is entered it should display all the contacts emails and then allow them to send them an email about my site.
The error which appears is:

1. SOme say that it is becasue safe mode is on however my host assures me that it is off.

Just wondering if there was a way to trace if an email has been blocked by a webhosts server.
My customer gets an automated email when he books online for Qantas Australia (Australia's biggest Airline Company). I have moved them from an Australian based web host to a US based server and host.
Since the host move, these emails no longer go through to the clients email address on the new hosts server.
I got Qantas to send the email through to me which is on a US server also but a different host to that of my client?? But they did not come through to me even.
I got Qantas to send it through to my personal email address (an Australian bigname ISP) which went through fine and I received it.
The auto generated email possibly could be coming through a 3rd party server so I was thinking maybe this server IP has been blocked for whatever reason (if 3rd party it could have been anyone) It is just strange that used to get them OK through the Australian server and still through my persoanl Australian ISP.
So is there a way to check and confirm and secondly if my suspicions are right would there be a process of trying to get the hosts to accept an email from Qantas as this customer doesnt want to have another email account.

There is a strange problem with the new feature fail2ban. I have noticed that a local ip address (ip address from the webserver itself) was added to the blocked ip addresses of fail2ban now for the second time. What I can see is that it was the recidive jail.
If there is nginx used as reverse proxy you get a "502 Bad Gateway". Any way to find out more about the reason why an ip address is added to the list of blocked ip addresses in fail2ban?

I just bought a new ip address and want to setup this new ip as my server's main ip, making the 'existing main ip' as the secondary ip.
Which means, this new ip will be the server's default ip address for all services, including when connecting to other server.
I'm using CentOs 4.5 and swsoft's panels: HSPcomplete & Virtuozzo Power Panel, and Webmin.

I have an issue with 4 servers, one at theplanet.com and 3 at ayksolutions.com
Traceroute from any ayk servers to the planet dies on the last router on the planet site,
traceroute from the planet to any ayk servers dies on the last router on the ayk site.
using a different IP for the planet server works.
Now, how can I figure out which router blocks this connection?
Everything was perfect till yesterday. I can ssh on all servers.
Technical staf from both ISPs has no idea and point to eachother. Is it other tool to see where I'm blocked.

I am often blocked by my own server.
So I can access my site through anonymouser.com but I cannot access my site directly. Changing my IP (using ASDL) will solve the problem.
A techie told me that it happened because of failed login attempt.
However, I had not made any failed login attempt?
Then it happened again today.
Why is this happening?
Though I didn't make eronous login attempt, I did try to check whether my sites are on or not a lot.

I have 2 cPanel servers with normal decent setups, and until today, HOTMAIL/LIVE is not accepting my e-mails.
There is no problem with GMAIL & YAHOO, btw.
When I mentioned not accepting my e-mails means it will always appear inside the Junk box instead of Inbox (for every domains in both servers)
I've tried to contact Microsoft support many times but they keep repeating the same thing. I've tried everything including make sure that my IP reputation is clean, and having domain keys.
I need some advise from you guys out there that has this issue before and start from sketch, what do I need to do to identify what Microsoft servers actually want from me?
Here's their 'robotic' respond.
1) Make sure that you have SPF/SIDF records in place. You

2) Clean up your lists. Remove those who do not want to
receive the emails. Make the unsubscribe process more visible. Hotmail
also has a sender complaint feedback loop program called the Junk Email
Reporting Program (JMRP). Enrollment in this free program will benefit

with interested Windows Live Hotmail Customers. This program will help
you to remove those Windows Live Hotmail Customers who do not want to

your MTA. Are your DNS records updated, are you transmitting data upon
making the SMTP connection, and is the problem isolated to any specific
machines? Do your SMTP logs show any failures?

email, transactional corporate email, "forward to a friend" email and
signup emails should be sent from different IP's. This will help to
identify what types of messages are being flagged by Hotmail customers.
5) Strengthen the sign up process. Confirm that you are
using a double-opt-in sign up process. This will not help in removing
existing Hotmail customers from your email lists, but it will confirm
the authenticity of those who sign-up for your email campaigns and
newsletters.
6) If you have any feedback loops setup with other ISPs,
you should look for trends to try to determine possible causes - a new
data source? New advertisement? Maybe folks signing up do not recognize
the mail?
7) Clearly mark your emails so that Hotmail customers are
able to identify quickly and easily that they requested emails from your
service.
8) Do some analysis on the data regarding complaints - look
at Hotmail customers who have never clicked, opened, responded or
bounced in any way. These poor performers could contain many bad
addresses.
9) Evaluate the frequency of your mailings. Are you making
your mailings less relevant and welcome by sending too many emails?
10) Enroll in the Sender Score program. This is the only white
list that Hotmail uses. It is owned and operated by Return Path. You can

Testing out Clientexec, and every time a welcome email is supposed to be sent, it's not.
So i set up a SPF record for the domain, and it started sending that email. However, when checking the hotmail it's tagged as "phishing scam".

I'm in the process of trying to contact Hotmail. I thought it was an SPF issue but that did not fix it. I then thought rDNS, but on an old server the rDNS also pointed to the DC and not to the server hostname and it worked fine. I'm going ahead to fix the rDNS, but I'm not sure that it will fix this.
Anyway, does anyone know the solution here by chance?

On the main mail server I run from my site I have being receiving a lot of issues when trying to send mail to hotmail. I do not receive any error messages, the mail is just never received it is filtered out(it does not even show up in the spam filter). I am not a spammer and have never been. My IP and domain check out fine when I put them through spam databases. So is there some trick to getting your mail accepted?

I have one of our servers that is bouncing all sent emails to hotmail, MSN and some others. The emails often come back saying they are bounced as SPAM.
There were SPAM issues on this particular server at one point, but have since been corrected one we tightened it up.
Now, how can I fix this? Can I change the servers hostname? Are they rejecting by hostname, or by IP?
And do I need to just contact each provider and try to get off their blacklist?

All messages sent by my mail queue in cPanel are being blocked by Hotmail and the British ISP Blueyonder.
It only affects these two mail-companies.
Is there any way to clear the blocks set by them as I just got a new server and wouldn't rly nice to change IPs.

Unfortunately yahoo blocked our server ip, so our customer cant send any email to yahoo!

Yes, cannot access my server with my PC. Tried everything but no avail. I confirmed that the server is up and running, everyone else can access it.
Here is what has been done so far:Cannot access to server after my FTP program automaticly tries to connect few times with wrong password. Fine, my IP will be flushed in 10~20 minutes tops. But no, after an hour still cannot access.
Submitted a ticket to the provider. They have flushed the Iptables, stopped the firewall, and added my IP address to allowed hosts file.
I have stopped the firewall in my PC. Flushed the DNS cache and restarted the windows.
Can use internet without a problem. Can access any website w/o problem except my own server.
Can anyone think of anything causing this?

I got the server hosting at liquidweb.
I access my website and ssh normally until 2 days ago. I couldn't go to my website and ssh anymore. All my clients can go to the website, sftp, ssh normally. I did a VPN to my company office and I can access to my website and ssh from my office.
Obviously, my IP address at home was blocked.
Do you think that was from Liquidweb firewall or my server cpanel firewall or something like that?

everything is ok , i contacted Hotmail to be part of SenderId program ,and told me 2 days and sending will be ok , i waited for 10 days , till now every new member can't recive ctivation email , what shall i do ??????

iam always having problem with Email know i have order a new server i try to use some script like phpbb.vb.ipb and some other script that have options to send email when people register etc...
if i register use hotmail there is no email will come to me in my inbox why ?
but if i send email from my hotmail email to my domian name email i get it
so i make some research on the net i find something maybe this could be the problem but as i am newbie to the server i have no idea how i can fix this problem

I just found out all my mails sent to Gmail are marked as spam. However, if I check my IP address in independant grass-root spam databases, my IP address isn't blacklisted. I checked 7 of them. Do you know how to solve this problem

I cannot figure this out.. I have tried EVERYTHING..
I am running a php script using the mail() function and sending an email..
I have had reverse dns point to the domain
I set an SPF record
My IP is not blacklisted.. I have had the dedicated server for 2 years now also
I modified a few things in the sendmail files.. I am stuck..
I am running freeBSD.. My buddy has his server set up with all of the same sendmail settings being the same.. and his emails don't get flagged..

We have a server with a fine company, BocaCom. They are who the IP addresses are we use ultimately registered to. It seems we are being blacklisted by secureserver (isn't that Godaddy?) because the IP does not register to us for our outgoing email. It registers to BocaCom.
Is anyone else having this problem, and how to we get around it? We've contacted BocaCom and are waiting for their reply. Is this an IP issue or am I reading the secureserver reply wrong?
