We have recently launched a new website with a SSL homepage which houses our login. Our website moved to a new IP address, therefor we moved the certificate to the new server as well. Thus far, we have had NO problems with the site with the exception of 2 MAC users who's browser hangs when they try to navigate to the site now. They can access other HTTPS sites, and they can access pages on OUR site that are NOT HTTPS, but when trying to browse to our HTTPS Page, the browser hangs. This is not just ONE browser on their MAC, it's EVERY broswer on their machine (Firefox, IE, Safari). It connects, but then doesn't load anything onto the screen. We tried clearing their DNS cache on their machines with no avail. To this point, we are stumped. We have identical machines, with idential OS and browser versions and everything tests fine. It is obviously something on their machine, but we don't know what it is. We have run out of ideas. Any MAC users that can lend a hand here? Is there a way to delete the certificate on the MAC and have it redownload to the user?
Have a domain, and I want to make a single Contact Us/Order page SSL. Have purchased the SSL certificate, put the domain on its own IP and it's ready to go. Now, how do I go about altering the page to be an SSL page. Do I simply call it as [url]? It makes some calls and loads a little SWF contact page from within it's own directory, and then shoots an email out to the contact email.
This will be the only page that ever needs an SSL on the whole site, so no worries in expanding it later.
I´ve read that a whole https website might be better for SEO than just a mixed version. So I want to change the whole website to https.
We are using Plesk 12 on Win 2008 R2. One Website is using DotNetNuke 7.3.2.
How can I automatically set the whole website to https?
What happens to the users that just type domainname.com without http or https.?
What is the right search engine friendly technique to permanently redirect to the https version even when the user is not using the application protocol prefix http/https?
Where can I do the setup in Plesk 12 fro Windows?
Are their any other drawbacks that I have to think over before I do the changes?
I have set up an Apache web server that has ssl enabled. If I go to https://myserver.com I get the 'it works!' page and the certificate is valid and trusted. If I go to https://myserver.com/myapp that also works (it's an Oracle weblogic deployed java app that I'm fronting with Apache).
I would like to configure Apache so that when a user goes to simply https://myserver.com it automatically directs them to https://myserver.com/myapp rather than showing the 'It works!' page. I have read some documentation and experimented with setting a redirect via the https.conf file and even the ssl.conf file but nothing seems to work. I either get a 404 or simply the 'It works! page.
I have a dedicated server which I am managing myself. I have experienced a strange thing today. The whole Apache daemon seemed to be hung. Every Web request resulted in a timeout, even when executed from localhost. The CPU usage has been minimal (like 99.7% idle). No MySQL long statements being executed, nothing. mod_status did not help me, because requesting the status also hung (as it is retrieved by HTTP). After Apache restart everything went back to normal.
I have no idea what could have happened, and moreover Apache does not provide me with any tools to diagnose it (because mod_status doesnot work in such situation). So I am asking you for help - do you have any idea what I could do when such problem repeats to diagnose its source?
I have a problem. When MSN Search robot looks through my VPS, the machine is going "asleep", e.g. Apache2 (Port 80) doesn't answer at all. Here is the last falling:
Code: 23:14:15 up 4 days, 9:06, 5 users, load average: 37.18, 31.25, 27.46 I hardly ever can enter 'pkill apache2' to kill Apache2 processes. Here is my Apache2 configuration (timeouts, prefork, e.g.):
Code: Timeout 30 KeepAlive On MaxKeepAliveRequests 20 KeepAliveTimeout 5
I seem to be having troubles getting yum to run. The problem occurs when I try to run yum via ssh using putty or install perl modules through whm.
When I try to run it, I generally get: Loading "fastestmirror" plugin And nothing after that, even if I wait a while. This happens when I run: yum update yum install imagemagick (my current reason for trying to get yum to run) yum clean all (probably other yum commands) If I run yum with --noplugins, it just skips putting out the fastestmirror message. Some info on my system: CENTOS Enterprise 5.2 Kernel Version: 2.6.18-92.el5 Intel C2D e6750 WHM 11.23.2 cPanel 11.23.6-R27698
I have a problem with my server. I am trying to make a subdomain, and it isn't working. I create it like how in all tutorials says here( click here ) . I completed all fields, but when i try to open the subdomain in a browser page, it's telling me, page not found / page doesn't exist. I have a dedicated server on window server 2008 for my website with a dedicated IP.
problem I was having which was Windows Small Business Server 2003 would hang on boot up. I never got the time to reinstall the server until now.
I have installed the server and applied all updates. This worked fine until I install the Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 or 2. When I install SP1 or SP2 on reboot the server loads the Dell splash screen then the monitor LED light goes orange then green then orange and then just hangs with a blank screen.
I can boot into Safe Mode and uninstall the Service Pack and I can then reboot without any problems. I have installed ADAM SP1.
We have flash files site hosted on dedicated server in that Apache is utilizing the more CPU. When the server reached more than 1000 connections server get down automatically.
I am running into a problem with my home linux server running Fedora 8 (2.6.26.6-49.fc8). The problem is with my SSH sessions, in that they hang or freeze when I try to run certain commands such as (ps -auxt or top) or when trying to edit (/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf) via VI or Pico. I am able to edit my pure-ftpd.conf file with little to no trouble through either Vi or Pico however. I did some research already on openssh.org but my problem does not resemble the tcp timeout issues I've seen described. When the SSH session hangs I'm forced to disconnect and then reconnect. Just curious if anyone has any ideas as to what I can try to resolve this problem.
I just got a new server and discoverd very strange problem. It happends 2-3 times every hour. When I try to access some webpage which connects to MySQL, I get page header and then page hangs for some 1 minute. After some 1 minute everything is back to normal. I can open several windows with different websites hosted on my server and the same problem is in all windows. At the same time I can access al websites without MySQL connections.
Right now my stats system only shows from what website traffic is coming. I have google analytics aswell, and with all its functions, it does not tell me from exactly what webpage traffic is coming, and to what webpage the traffic is coming to.
So, let say someone is sending me traffic from www.reffererxxx.com/cool_video.html to www.mysite.com/super_cool_video.html
My statistics would only show that www.reffererxxx.com is sending traffic to www.mysite.com
Is there a way(a script/service/program) to find out exactly from what webpage the traffic is coming, and to what webpage of mine the traffic is going to? (I do not have server logs / webalizer / awstats as my server cannot handle the log processing due to high server loads)
I have a dedicated machine collocated at some hosting provider and after a while (14 days or so, but timeframe is not constant) it hangs for no apparent reason. It happened 2 times already. Nothing in the logs (it logs everything), nothing at all.
Before the commission the machine was running for a month without any problems.
The first time it happened the tech guy plugged in monitor and keyboard and could not see anything on the display. Before that machine was not loaded with any traffic, nobody should have actually known it is there (except for some DNS traffic). It took some 20 days of uptime.
The second time it happened was yesterday, after some 15 days of uptime.
I suspect hardware malfunction because I have 2 "identical" (OS & progs, not the hardware) systems running without any problems. It is an HP DL380 G5 machine, the problematic one.
This happens when I try to add a new domain or when I am trying to remove a domain. It just hangs, the browser says waiting on server while plesk just hangs. This is a fresh new install of Plesk 12 as well. I added a bunch of new domains tonight. No crazy changes or anything to plesk. I have found nothing so far in my search.
I thought I knew enough about my .htaccess stuff to do this, but I can't seem to work it out. What I want to do is if a user visits domain.com/folder, we check to see if the folder exists. If so, show as normal (IE domain.com/support)
If a user visits domain.com/dynamicusername (dynamicusername is not a physical folder), redirect to dynamicusername.domain.com
I moved my sites to new linux server of mine (apache, mysql, php).
From that time i experienced some bigger websites hanging for like 2-3 seconds before they start loading. I mean when im browsing thru my website i click link, submit something and it waits saying in status field like "Waiting for mywebsite.com"
So i want to ask what apache, php etc values, what to check on server?
NOTE: my server is NOT overloaded (I am checking "top -c" stats) so don't suggest me to upgrade etc.
I have impression that it is waited until website elements are loaded and then webpage load very quickly after mentioned 2-3 seconds delay..
I'd like to upgrade my server from Ubuntu 12.04 to Ubuntu 14.04. The idea is to migrate my actual server (S1) to another one (S2). Then, format and install ubuntu 14.04 with Plesk on S1, and finally migrate the data from S2 to S1. Is it a good solution? Is it possible to do this using only one server? I don't know if I can do it making a backup, install Ubuntu 14.04 and then, restore the data into the server.
However, I have a problem with the migration agent. When I go the migration page, the migration agent tries to update itself and it keep at 0% forever (I attach an screenshot).
I have an issue with my daily backup. I configured to have a daily backup on an external FTP server. Everything looks to work correctly but in the panel I see that the task is a 100% forever. Never finishing completely.. So the next day, the task is not starting.. I have to remove manually the task in backup manager screen.
here is the last lines of the log file (in /var/log/plesk/PMM/backup-2015-01-20-20-46-02-824)
My website is currently running on http and the plesk control pannel is running on https
However the certificate for https for the plesk panel is out of date and self signed therefore web browsers promit its not valid.
I want to get a valid SSL certificate for https for Plesk, Client/Billing area and the main website.
I want to do it as easy as possiable (as I'm not one for technical stuff but if it was resoniable I could give it a go)
I dont want a self signed and want to try to go for something free or very cheap.
Any got any suggestions? I've looked around and come up with companys wanting alot of money I did come across another which was free but it was self signed.
Currently I have a URL that has HTTP. This has been given to the public. There is no doubt that they have added this URL to their favorites.
In about 2 weeks, I will be applying an SSL certificate that would add an ‘S’ to the HTTP (e.g. https)
My questions is: After applying this SSL certificate, which adds an “S”, will the link saved in my users’ favorites still work? Or do I have to add some HTML code that will redirect them?
