some folder may contain over 1000s files,
and the ftp only can show 1000s files well,
where can i large the value and let it show more?

Apache Not Showing Full File Size
Aug 15, 2007I have a 2,3 and 5GB files that I need to download but everytime they appear as 1.4GB for some reason. I've tried IE, Mozilla and opera and the same result each time.
Is there some sort of limit to the size of a file that apache will serve?
What Would Prevent A File Being FTPed Immeidately And Showing Up On Website
Jan 29, 2007I am trying to ftp some changes to my site. The strange thing is that while the FTP client (Filezilla) is accepting the new file, it will not show up on the new site. I've tried caching, refreshing browers, and rebooting but nada.
I then went back into my FTP client and checked the timestamp of the file being uploaded. For whatever reason, it will not show the most recent time of the file being uploaded, much less accept the most recent upload.

Jun 30, 2009When I download a file from my server, only specific extensions are working. This is really annoying since I want to be able to see how much time left to finish a download.
For example I uploaded a video with .vob extension
file.vob --> does not show filesize when downloading
If I rename the same file to different extension:
file.avi --> works fine shows filesize when downloading
file.mp3 --> works fine shows filesize when downloading
file.rar --> works fine shows filesize when downloading
file.mp4 --> does not show filesize when downloading
file.wmv --> does not show filesize when downloading
These are direct download links, not using any download scripts or anything. Why are some extensions displaying the filesize and some not displaying them? I am using Apache 2.x server.
Apache :: Modified Excel File In Docroot Not Showing If Its Accessed
Aug 7, 2014We have few application which serve static information to the users like excel sheet.
We used to place the .xls file in the docroot and it will be accessed using URL
for example, I'll place a file named test.xls and access it through [URL]
Problem here is if i modified the file content and accesed it through [URL] , it is showing the old content. New content is not displaying.
But the same if i did with .txt file , it showing the updated content for .txt file
Dont know why only xls files are not reflecting.
Limit The Speed For Certain File Type

i find some people put big .zip and .iso files on it,
it make my server waste many bandwinth and make the images show lower and lower,
can i install any software to do the control,
to make "if user browse .zip or .iso files, they can only use the 1Mb bandwidth, if the content is images or html,the speed is no limit",

Mysql Open File Limit
Aug 14, 2008I am trying to increase my open file limit on my CentOS release 4.6 VPS.
I have tried modifying my /etc/security/limits.conf with the following:
@mysql soft nofile 4096
@mysql hard nofile 4096
@mysql soft sigpending 4096
@mysql hard sigpending 4096
Even is a mannual set it with "ulimit -n 4096 mysql" it will not stick.
Any ideas what I can do to get this limit increased permanently?
Limit Access To A File (or Folder) To Only 2 IP's
Feb 22, 2007I have a file on my server called admin.php and a folder called "admin" I only want 2 IP addresses to be allowed access to those files.
can this be done in .htaccess? if so can someone give me an example?
I have spent ages trying to work it out myself but I'm a bit of a noob

Plesk 12.x / Linux :: Upload File Limit?
Jun 22, 2015I have a big problem concerning the file upload limit (I need a large size, around 2Go) : I was using my app in /var/www/vhost/default and it was working perfectly, I decided to change it and use /var/www/vhost/mydomain.com to have it throught the plesk panel, and there I have an upload limit than I need to push. I can't upload files larger than 128Mo and I don't know why.
- I have checked all php.ini files (with locate php.ini) and they are all correct.
- I used plesk panel to set php conf -> done.
- I put :
php_value memory_limit 2000M
php_value upload_max_filesize 2000M
php_value post_max_size 2000M
in my .htaccess in htdocs

I reload/restart apache2, psa, ... And it still doesn't work, I have no more idea every conf file seems correct. It's not a permission problem because I can upload some 80Mo files but not 500Mo ...
Script To Limit File Size On Video Share Server
May 29, 2008We have found that we need to limit the amount of cpu uage by users on our video share server. On this server we currently have 20 users on a sharred plan. Thought that the obvious BW usage would be the biggest challenge, as it turns out we havent gone over the 2 TB that we have.
We have come up with an encoding process that uses the 264 codec and gives us excellent results in terms of quality but is very cpu intensive to the point of really slowing down the server when 10 or more users simutaneously are encoding their videos.
Can someone suggest a script that would allows us to limit the file size in terms of MB/GB that each user could upload per month.
So for example a client pays 10.00 per month and we wanted to limit their uploads to a total of 900 MB per month vs the client that is paying 50.00 per month who would have the ability to upload say 8 GB per month.

CentOS Showing 3.5GB Ram Instead Of 4GB

After installation when i type free in SSH the total amount of RAM shows as: 3359580
I have two brand new Corsair 2GB modules installed.
Is this normal?

Oct 4, 2007I have a VPS and am looking for a way to show existing and potential clients the uptime levels of the server. I have a basic uptime page provided by WHMCS, but I want to go a little beyond that.
If I were to choose an uptime reporting service such as siteuptime.com, hyperspin.com or site24x7.com, what would you recommend that I monitor? Obviously HTTP, FTP, POP3 and MySQL, but anything else? Do these services monitor the server load also?
Also, is it a good idea to display these stats publicly?

Php Showing Code Not Executing
May 14, 2007i have a vps account and am trying to setup my website i installed php 4 from a control panel where it auto installed php and there is mysql and i installed all of them but when i upload my script and go to install or go to the index of my site it shows the php code and does not execute.
my permissions are right on i also made a testphp file and used this code <?php phpinfo(); ?> and still nothing just shows the php code when you browse to the file i even went further i installed from the control panel another program called phpmyadmin and when i log in it does the same thing just shows php code so what the hell is going on you think i need to contact my host provider for this issue i sent an email out but waiting for a responce
Memory_limit Value Not Showing In Phpinfo

memory_limit = 32M
but when I load a phpinfo() page, the setting is displayed nowhere.
Is there a reason for this ? I fear the setting is not taken in consideration by the server because of this.
Apache Not Showing Full URL?
Apr 1, 2013When I go to the [URL] ... is loads the index page just fine. When I go use the [URL] .... it still loads the index page, I don't want it to do that, I want it it to load test.php. When I click on a link (for say [URL] ....) on index.php the url stays as [URL] ....; I actually want it to show [URL] .... (while I test things at least). Is this a .htaccess issue?

By default Plesk permissions are set to DENY for PSACLN.
But the JMail plugin cannot work with these permissions !
We change this to be ALLOW for READ & EXECUTE and DENY for WRITE.
And everything works fine.
But every time Plesk does an update it reverts it back !
This means that a number of our customers contact forms stop working !
