I'm consulting to a large company that would like to setup
servers in co-locations in the countries listed below.
Does anyone know of any reputable data centers located in the countries listed below?
Moscow
South Africa
Egypt
Dubai
Does anyone have any recommendations for a VPS provider in the South Africa region?
View 3 Replies View Relatedcan anyone recommend a windows VPS located in south africa?
I just can't find any.
I run a UK based GSP which has been successful in dedicated server packages.
I'm looking to expand over to south Carolina / greenville / anywher near Clemson uni. Personal easy access to the machines is a must have.
Can anyone recommend some providers in these areas. I prefer the 'personal' service over the mass scale providers.
Any one happen to know the Brazil NAP Data center address? I found the sales office address on their website but can't seem to quickly find the data center address.

If should be reliable, economical and Ii would be good if I can host multiple domains.
Also if the hosting company has its site in English or their staff can communicate in English?
Good day to the users of the Forum.
be always i :-) But this time in Germany!
As the title, search Web-Hosting with server in Germany. (NO SERVER DEDICATED-NO VPS SERVER)
I must register a domain .COM contents on the Forex, trading online, borse ecc....
For the moment i need a little space not more to 100mb.
I wish the following characteristics for me obligatory:
- IP Location my web site: France
- IP DEDICATED
- Protection WHOIS
- Custom error pages
- The option to install BLOG WORDPRESS
- Statistics Webs professional
- And if it is possible Anonymous FTP, otherwise can renounce this characteristic.
I have a pet project that I am working on in Frankfurt, Germany. My problem is, I can't seem to find any retailers that have server grade components.
Err as an edit, I am hoping to build my own 1U/2U rackmounts and avoid big box stuff like dell, hp, ibm etc. I'm a big supermicro fan if anyone knows a supermicro retailer it would be perfect.
We have an image hosting project, which uses ~5Tb/mo,
Currently we are running it on Pentium D 2,8GHz CPU (Dual Core), 1Gb RAM, 2×160Gb 7200rpm IDE HDD for ~170$/mo.
We don't need much better hardware, but need some good hdds (IDE sucks) + RAID.
Stats for 20.03.08-30.03.08 (10 days) - incoming: 35 Gb, outgoing: 1.3 Tb
So it's about ~4 Tb/mo. And we want 5-6Tb for a reserve.
Keyweb doesn't allow image hosting on their servers
Best choice is OVH, but I'm not in Germany..
If you got a dedicated server in Germany not running on maxium load and would like to make some money I'd be interested in running a small gameserver from your machine.
View 0 Replies View RelatedMost of my traffic is in South America (argentina). I need a VPS with lots of cheap (500GB-700GB) bandwidth available, plus maybe 1-2GB of RAM. Having a VPS as close to Argentina as possible might work well.
I think maybe VPS from Texas might work?
i'm interested in putting two servers (possibly scale up for more) in the South Bay (i.e. San Jose, Fremont, etc.) colocation facitity. Any suggestion on the providers would be greatly appreciated. and what to look for.
i only know Hurricane Electric (and Savvis?).
My server hosted with 1and1.co.uk (and therefore in Germany) has been down since 6PM UK time (20 hours ago) - support is just excruciatingly bad - the structure they have set up to make sure the actual datacentre people aren't customer facing is atrocious... you can't speak to anyone who knows anything, it's so frustrating.
I'm writing this to ask if anyone else has a root server in Germany as the latest fob off is that a router CPU has gone down knocking all those root servers offline. I'm surprised to not have seen any other threads from disgruntled customers if that were the case. They even added the router is in Canada... which begs the question - why would that knock out my German server??
My server isn't even accessible by the serial console and the reboot/recovery system isn't restoring it - they swear it's network related, but surely I'd be able to get in via the serial console?
This is winding me up good and proper, I can't concentrate on any other work and I just find myself trying to find other ways of getting any kind of real information out of 1and1 given their complete lacklustre attitude to coming forward with any themselves. 1 hour of downtime I can put up with, 20 hours without a hint of belivable feedback is just unacceptable...
I am testing out a proxy we have in NY, and a proxy we have in Japan. The computer that I am using is in Toyoseu, Japan. What I want to know is why, when navigation to the website: stuttgarter-zeitung.de/stz/page/detail.php/1693599
it takes longer to load using the Tokyo proxy. Normally, I would think that it would be shorter than having to go to the NY proxy, get the site, and then come back.
Whats the best dedicated server provider in Germany with connections to the east to Asia...?
I need a server around 300 Euros / month
RAID, daily backup, cPanel, Redhat
I'm one of the Layeredtech "future refugees" looking for a new hosting. I have a AMD Athlon 3000+ 1GB RAM + 2 160GB HDD's and last week I started looking at LT specials to upgrade our server (1 website only, huge traffic). I'm glad that I got the "Price Hike" increase before :-)
After looking at all the posts in the forum about unmanaged providers I really like the prices and reputation of Hivelocity, but I'm not so sure about the speed of their network.
The website is in Spanish (I'm from Spain), and we got 50% of our visitors from Spain, 45% from South America and the rest from all over the world. I tried their download tests and they were slower than LT (from Spain), with the pings 20/30% higher and the traceroute has like 5 more hops.
Any experiences from European/South American customers of Hivelocity?
Any colo sites in this city?

I dont want to pay the earth though!
We need to get another dedicated server in Germany for a video application (so low latency and high-quality connectivity are crucial). Our current server is hosted with NetDirekt in Frankfurt -- our first year with them has been very good. However I want the next server located in a different city, for redundancy.
My considerations:
- English-speaking sales & support
- Highly reliable network
- Low latency to Germany users
Do you have any recommendations among the following short-list of providers?
Germany:
- plusserver.de
- probe-networks.de
- hosteurope.de
Amsterdam:
- eurovps.com
- leaseweb.com
Is Amsterdam a suitable location if I'm serving German end-users? Latency matters a lot... so if a German datacenter saves 20ms of latency, that's important.
Do you know of any other comparable providers -- especially ones that do not require a 12-month contract?
can anyone recommend a good windows VPS provider from India?

I was wondering if anybody has experience dealing with Dell India for servers, racks etc. I find it very hard to get decent pricing, including trying to get them to match Dell UK/US/Canada quotes. Is this normal?

Can anyone from India open this website?
I am not able to open it in India but can open from a US Proxy.
I am not sure whether if its ISP problem or a problem at the US datacentre.
We are India based web hosting company and we have daily requirement of dedicated servers.
We would like to discuss regarding US or India based servers. Which servers are better as per performance basis and benefit.
I know bandwidth is a big issue in India. Also also want to discuss, on what basis the US bases dataceter calculate the bandwidth. Because some Indian datacenter guys says that the US bases dataceter don't give bandwidth as per their mentioned terms.
Also what is hardware reliability of rented servers in US
Which DC have good ping for India, lot of us based dc have big ping value in india, any one suggest good one.
View 12 Replies View RelatedFor india overall, is bandwidth mostly inbound or outbound?
In other words, is there more data (via internet) coming out of the country or into the country?
Link to stats preferably.
