We`ve a cPanel webserver, we are going to migrate accounts to another server, So require to decrease TTL of all accounts there, But that is hard to change them one by one.
Do you know how should I decrease all of those TTL`s at the same time with an special command?
Another thing is that, If we dont increase TTL`s after transfer and leave those to be about 300sec, Will that make any issues for us?
And what should a TTL be a large number (standard 86400)?
I have a client on a dedicated IP, today we needed to downgrade the web hosting plan. As the web hosting plan puts users on a default shared IP, this plan change also changed the dedicated IP to the shared one causing some propagation issues for a small period of time.
I have contacted WHMCS about this asking if they had a way of changing the clients plan but keeping the IP address intact as this could lead to some very undesirable outcomes. They explained that it is not their fault and to contact Parallels.
I know I can change the plan directly in Plesk however by initiating the plan change via WHMCS, everything is automated.
I enter my username, get prompted immediately for a password, enter it, and immediately get a shell. Other times, it takes a second or two after entering my username before prompting me for a password. Other times, it'll prompt me for the password quickly, but sit for a couple seconds before giving me a shell.
Here's the odd thing, though--the machine has a 0.00 load average, is 20ms away, and I'm seeing 0% packet loss.
It's not the end of the world, of course, if I have to wait a second. But I'm curious what's going on, because, on a dual-core 3GHz machine with 2GB RAM, with NOTHING running on it, it should really be a lot faster...
I requested to my hosting company to implement a dedicated IP for my shared hosting, because my domaing had the same IP with other 400 domains. Before that, the site had a good response time and everything was OK. After they implemented a unique IP for my domain, I observed that in Google Webmaster Tools, Crawl Stats, Time spent for downloading a page had reached from aprox. 1 second to 23 seconds and now it is stable to aprox. 23 seconds. Besides this, every online tool that checks the site, response time, keywords etc., is getting timeout errors or it's loading the page in 40-120 seconds. Before that implementation of dedicated IP all these tools worked fine. Did you have a similar problem after changing from shared IP to dedicated IP hosting?
After being with KnownHost for a while, I decided to make the jump to a real Dedicated Server. KnownHost does offer a Hybrid Server -- but it isn't a real Dedicated Server. So I gave up my Hybrid at KH to experience the real thing.
After much research, I selected ManageMyBox (MMB)-- their current special is awesome with a managed Dual Core AMD with lots of disk space and generous bandwidth. My only concern about MMB was some of the discussion threads about their support, but if you read long enough, you will find the same support issues at all hosting companies.
I just wanted to let you guys know that so far in day two with MMB, I'm ecstatic to report that my server was set up correctly from the very beginning in less than the 24-48 hours they advertise (mine was less than 24 , and I have alrerady opened a support ticket to get another software installed -- and within 30 minutes, the software was installed and the ticket closed. This all happened tonight -- a Saturday night.
I'm not getting paid to post this -- but I do believe in giving credit where credit is due. I will report followups if things do take a turn for the worse, but so far, its not just good -- it's GREAT!
We've always used open source linux servers up until now. For a variety of reasons we're contemplating adding one windows box.
Is there much practical difference for the average small business between 2003 and 2008?
What's the difference between "authenticated" and "unauthenticated" windows servers?
How is most administration and regular tasks done? I'm used to sshing into my linux servers-- I'm assuming for windows this is gui based? What's the standard software used for this?
I am currently on VPS, and am finding that my site loads slow. I don't know if it the server or if my scripts are slow/ inefficient. Is there a way to find out?
The site uses wordpress, and has changing content several times a day, running hypercache.
The mysql database is 200mb
I am wondering do I need to move to dedicated hosting?
I have purchased a dedicated server because my existing host gives me a database error during high traffic. the error is
Code:
"Cannot connect to MySQL: User admin0506 has already more than 'max_user_connections' active connections"
Now in my dedicated server I have root access and a Plesk control panel with admin access. I have created a database but I don't know how to change the parameter "max_user_connections". Please help me because I am loosing lot of business due to this issue.
We like to create the mail accounts through php scripts in mywebsite.com website. So we request you to setup the Qmail with Vpopmail server in our server. As we have the following packages are already installed.
1. Qmail
2. Courier POP/IMAP
3. Horde Webmail client
providers who install the vpopmail in the our server and configure these four packages to create the mail accounts via php script. So that we can use vaddsuer command in php to create the mail ids and also imap_open commands to access the mails.
We will take the decision sooner since we need to live the website shortly.
