Disk Quota Not Working For User Accounts
I am having Virtuozzo vps with cpanel/WHM installed.I have created some accounts in it by setting disk quota . Now the issue is : some users are using space over the allocted one ,when i use the command quota -u (username),i can see that the users are used the space over the allocated one and they are still allowed to upload file . How to fix this issue ?

I'm running a VPS, it sounds weird but its more like a learning lab I bought to help me get better skills in linux environment, so far I've learned a bit more in BIND and apache. I use the panel webmin, I tried setting a mount but it didn't work. The mounted devices output this: simfs on / type simfs (rw) tmpfs on /lib/init/rw type tmpfs (rw,nosuid) proc on /proc type proc (rw,nosuid,nodev,noexec) sysfs on /sys type sysfs (rw,nosuid,nodev,noexec) tmpfs on /dev/shm type tmpfs (rw,nosuid,nodev) devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw,nosuid,noexec) Now, that struck me is that other VPSes that have CentOS with cpanel has their disk quota installed already. /tmp Disk Quota Exceeded But Not
Has anyone ever run into this before? We are running into issues with one of our hosting servers, it claims that the /tmp folder has exceeded the disk quota but when you actually go to the /tmp folder it's not at all. Here are the outputs: # df -h Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/simfs 60G 2.4G 58G 4% / # df -i Filesystem Inodes IUsed IFree IUse% Mounted on /dev/simfs 1500000 80589 1419411 6% / # du -hs /tmp 8.2M /tmp # echo 11111111 > /tmp/testfile # cat /tmp/testfile 11111111 But it still gives a PHP error saying /tmp disk quota exceeded until I completely empty the folder and then it works for a few hours and does the same thing.

how can setup a monthly bandwidth quota for unix users ? Is there any tool that can measure the in/out bandwidth for all /home/* directories ? Can't Update WHM Account Disk Quota
Using cPanel/WHM to administer Accounts. I've been allocated additional disk space by my host, but can't seem to use it -- the existing (original) Account quota won't update. I've tried changing the quota for the existing Package, as well as creating a new package with the desired quota and 'upgrading' the Account to the new Package, but the Account's quota remains the same. It's as tho' the Account quota value is cached somewhere, and isn't getting refreshed.

VPS Disk Quota Status Keeps Increasing Every 2 Days
I have had over 4 different VPS providers and in all of them, I was always using less than 5 gigs and most of it is from the OS and the VPS files, my website is less than 400 megs of size including the backups. For some reasons, my Disk Quota is at 8.3 gigs and it was at 8.2 gigs yesterday. My website's files are not that big and the Database is like 30 megs and the backups are compressed so they are like 4 megs. The problem is that I really don't know what files are making my Disk Quota to go up since I haven't uploaded anything or download files to my VPS.

Disk Quota Issue - Locating The Folders With The Highest Number Of Files
we've been having issues with reaching or exceeding our disk quotas. I've checked carefully, and while I've cleared our mail queue's, I don't think that's the issue. So what I'm really looking for is a way to figure out why we have so many files (our quota is 220000, and I'm pretty confident that we aren't intentionally doing anything to create so many files). There's lots of information on finding the folders with the largest file sizes, but locating the folders with the greatest number of files isn't quite so simple--or at least, it doesn't seem very clear to me. Does anyone know a way via the command line to figure out this information, short of going through every single folder and figuring out how many files are in the specific folder?

Webmin Creating Folder/user With Space And Bandwidth Quota
how can i create directories in my (public_html / htdocs folder) that have disk space and traffic quota? i activated the disk quota to the native linux file system and i tried to create a user but i could not put this user in any folder in the public_html (i dont know how to do this) also there is no option to create bandwidth quota.. one more detail is that the folders need to be protected with login and password because people may try to enter this folders (e.g. www.mydomain.com/protectedfolder) all this using webmin or another free good script.

CPanel- Accounts Transferred, Email Not Working
I tranferred all my accounts from my old cpanel server to my new one, Updated the DNS records with my registrar to the new ips, unfortunately e-mail is not working, i used the trouble shooter and seems to trying to relay or something my mail to the old IP. I keep getting this error when trying to send to an account IPdoes not like recipient. Remote host said: [IP DOMAIN] is currently not 550-permitted to relay through this server. Perhaps you have not logged into 550-the pop/imap server in the last 30 minutes or do not have SMTP 550 Authentication turned on in your email client. Giving up on [IP].

Now my second thought is that I should be logging into mydomain.com/cpanel rather than mydomain.com/whm but I get a 404 for /cpanel. Cron As Postgres User Not Working

My cron is supposed to dump a postgres db in tar.gz format every minute (for testing purposes) but it doesn't. Weird MySQL: User/pass Stops Working After A While
I am having a very strange problem with 2 different cPanel accounts on a server with 500-600 accounts. For some reason after a day or two the mysql username/password stops working. We have tried changing the MySQL user and the password with no success. The log does not indicate that the MySQL password was changed in any way. Only these 2 accounts are affected and this problem occurred at least half dozen times each. Again: these are two different accounts with 2 different MySQL users that after a while stop working (I am unable to determine if they stop working at the same time b/c they belong to different customers). When we reset the user (with the same pass) it works for a day or two. I have checked to connect not only from PHP but also from shell when it's down: it also doesn't work so this is a pure MySQL problem. Also on the server we have Fantastico.

I've a dedicated with VERY high-end specs 16gb ram SCSI RAID10 SATAII RAID5 CentOS 4.5 x86_64 Kernal 2.6.9-55.ELsmp cPanel However, it has a serious problem, which is with any quota process such as, modifying accounts' quota/creating new account with specific quota(if set to unlimited no problem occurs)/restoring account from a backup file even its a 10mb file when it reaches the quota check section. When any of those happens the load goes Very high 50+ and even can hang the server for sometime if there is a big backup to restore so its quota is big . and the top process that appears at 'top' is quotaon 105% CPU. When I reboot the server and it come back online I can do any quota process with no issues at all for few hours after a reboot then if I do any quota concerning action the problem happens again! The DC said its not a hardware problem while I was suspecting it is!

Wrong Mail Quota In Cpanel
i have an e-mail account that in cpanel shows it has 60 of 90 mb of used space... it had some big emails in the trash folder but i deleted em... in fact i deleted everything from the account (sent, trash, drafts, etc) and it keeps showing 60 of 90 mb of used space ive checked if it was spambox... nothing, spamassasin... nothing i even loged on the server and checked the space of mailbox's folder... but it showed only 500 kb... so i assume its a cpanel issue... how can i fix it?

Quota Process Crashing Box
Lately on one of my servers I noticed everytime I try to modify an account or quota, the quotaon process goes to 100% cpu, server load gets to about 30, and if I tried to modify multiple quotas it would basically become unresponsive. It all seemed to have started after stage2 upgrade. I havent seen any errors from the filesystem or even any errors in messages after it does this.

Quota Problem In OpenVZ/HyperVM/CentOS
Anyone of the top of their head know how to fix the CPanel "Unlimited" Quota problem in CentOS/OpenVZ/HyperVM? This post is not related to Infinitie, I personally have a few VPS servers I run and they are on CentOS 4.6 and the latest HyperVM, secondary quotas is enabled but I still keep having that problem where I cannot get quotas.

Exceeding Database Quota Advice On New Host
I run a fairly large but low traffic oscommerce site that is currently hosted on ipower. I exceed the "max_questions" variable they have limiting sql queries. I have already created a bunch of users and it helps but it's still not perfect. What I need: No SQL Limits. Ability to host up to 10 domains. 5 gigs of storage (user uploads). 20 gig/month of bandwidth. Fast network. Access to techs that know what they are doing. 10-20 emails A nice user friendly panel to handle everything. Looking to keep price around $10-$20 a month. I would love to have a slice of the CPU and memory like a VPS but I don't know linux and it's a little scary.
