Which antivirus product works in the VPS?
I just installed Avira Antivir Windows Server 8 to my VPS but it didn't work out (service won't start). Have you ever installed antivirus client for VPS? If you have, what client should work in the Windows VPS (F-Secure, Symantec...)?
if anyone had any good recommendations for iSCSI products, either software or appliances for the small business market. We need good low cost SAN storage. I am looking at Nimbus and Open-E.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm not in the market to lease a dedicated server right now, but just out of curriousity, what is the difference between renting one from HostGator, or from The Planet (who I believe HostGator gets their servers from).
Wouldn't that be the same product with 2 different labels on it?
Also, I saw on HostGators website: "We have over 150 employees to provide you around-the-clock superior support." So do they have their employees at The Planets facility, or are they refering to The Planets employees who support their customers, or how does this whole deal work?
My thinking has always been, whenever possible, go directly to the SOURCE, to get the best deals. Is this not the case?
I am running wordpress for ecommerce using httpd-2.4.12 on my Ubuntu Server 12.04.5. The problem I have is some unknown clients received the message that reads "You don't have permission to access the product on this server" when they were trying to access to the Product page to make a purchase.
When I tested on all of my devices, I did not have any issue with accessing to the page. I know that the page is a secure page with https.I've looked into the apache logs file and found nothing that's related to 404 or 403 errors there.what I have configured for my httpd.conf.
I can access my web domain by typing...
[url]
But i get no server found error when i type....
www.mysite.com or [url]
I am using LxAdmin Panel, and have added (A) record for www

I am using Plesk 12 on Centos 6.
The Add and Remove Product Components panel lists various options to install.
There are options to add PHP 5.6, PHP 5.5, PHP 5.4, PHP 5.3 and 5.2 support. None of these are installed.
At the same time under a heading Web hosting features there is a PHP5 support that is installed.
What is the difference between these two references for same PHP5?
Does the panel allow installing PHP5 from two places?

"Create a zend id for your machine." This is apparently for them to create a product key for their software and have to bind to it?!
I have never heard of this and have been unable to locate any information on it.

There's a lot of anti-virus programs for Windows (Norton, McAffee, Zonealarm, etc.), but there doesn't seem to be any for Linux. Why is that? Am I just searching in the wrong places?

Been hosting with Linux servers for years, one would almost expect that a security on a Windows server is "second nature", but I have some doubts about the security of these servers. We'll be using Windows 2003 standard & Windows 2003 Web edition.

I need it only to filter on ONE machine so it would not have to be extremely fast. Spam filtering would be a plus as well. Any recommendations? I am looking for something plug and play.
