Primary Server Using Script To Upload On 2nd Server Without A Domain
i am currently with a host, hosting my important sites. I am now going to purchase some space from another host purely for storage purposes and bandwidth usage as they are within my budget.
Now i have my primary domain with my main host, and i would like to have a script or link from my current host which leads onto my 2nd host for users to upload their images or files. Now i have a problem, the second host that i will have will not have a registered domain attached to it, but rather it will be just storage.
I would prefer to have a subdomain from my primary host pointing to my second host. The problem is where will the subdomain point to? Or will it even work that way without having to purchase another domain?

Server Primary Domain And DNS
I got a new dedicated server, and I put the primary domain name to be zeonwebhosting.com. However, when I setup the nameservers, and go to GoDaddy.com and NameCheap.com to change the nameservers on my domains, I get an "Errors were detected" on GoDaddy.com and a "nRRPResponseCode 531" on NameCheap. I fixed everything in WHM and got a server administrator to fix some things for me, and it didn't work yet. Now I am thinking that the problem might not be with the server, but with the domain. ZeonWebHosting.com is registered at GoDaddy.com, and since I was not sure what nameservers I should put as it is the primary domain name, I used the parked nameservers on GoDaddy, and used the Total DNS feature to change the A and MX Records to point to my server's IPs. I tried putting the ns1.zeonwebhosting.com and ns2.zeonwebhosting.com DNSs on GoDaddy, but still I got the "Errors were detected" error. I tried almost everything possible. I even redid cPanel just to make sure that everything was OK with the cPanel configuration. Also there is another problem with the server. I can't seem to be able to delete Nameservers from "Networking Setup > Nameserver IPs" in WHM. I get this message when trying to delete one of the nameservers: "Sorry, the nameserver ip 66.79.191.196 cannot be removing since it is still registered with an ICANN register."

Should I Add 2nd Nameserver IP On Server
My provider just gave 1 IP and to be use as shared IP for every accounts created in the server. I also assigned that IP for my nameserver ns1.domain.com at my registrar. I was instructed also by my provider to use the next IP for the second nameserver which I also created at my registrar and created dns zone at the whm. All of the domains using that two IPs are working but I dont know why when I ping the second dns its not working. from Intodns.com its also showing nameserver 2 as an error.. My question is, do I need to add the second IP on the server/whm? you see when I go to WHM and click Show IP Address Usage I only see the first IP shared to all other domains. Somehow I'm expecting to see the second IP on the screen. Anyone can enlighten me? the server I got should have been a full management but my provider is somehow responding so slow.

One Secondary DNS Server For Two Primary
I have the following three servers, which I'll call A, B, and C: Server A - Web hosting server that uses cPanel on CentOS. Server B - Free subdomain service (similar to afraid.org but on a much smaller scale), using PowerDNS with a MySQL database backend, on Debian. Server C - Backup DNS server for the cPanel web hosting server, using the free cPanel "DNS Only" on CentOS. Originally I had just A and B set up (they're two separate VPSes on the one dedicated server, I own the dedi and some friends and I have VPSes on it). Now I've got a VPS at a different data centre, and am using that for C. To have a secondary DNS server for server B, I believe I can use MySQL replication to replicate the PowerDNS database to another server, then have a PowerDNS install on that server. My question is, is it possible to have server C as a backup DNS server for both server A (cPanel server) and server B (PowerDNS server)? ie. is there a way to check both PowerDNS and the cPanel BIND9 for domains (have them on different ports, and make one query the other if the lookup fails, perhaps)? Or perhaps use both the MySQL backend and the bind backend simultaneously in PowerDNS, and replace bind with PowerDNS (although I guess cPanel wouldn't like this)?

Multiple Servers Managment Creating Subdomain On 2nd Server
I currently own a few web hosting company's. Where i seem to be having trouble is that i have allways used Reseller accounts to run my business. But recently this month i have purchased My own Servers. I currently Own 9 Servers in total. So when it comes to Actual Server Managment im running into a brick wall lol One of my business's invlolves Free web hosting. And and I have been using one server for the free web hosting clients. The problem is that sigle server is Maxed out I cannot add any more accounts to it withought jeperdising its stability. This service Not only inlcudes Free domain hosting but sub domain hosting as well. So now that you know a little background on what im doing heres the question We use Client Exec as our billing and Auto Account Creation and we know its possible to Add multiple server to Client Exec and we can tell it to creat new accounts on anouther server But what hapends when someone wants a subdomain? Its my understanding that subdomains can only reside on the server that the actual domain is being hosted. Is this right ? or is there a way to creat subdomains of a .com on anouther server where is not located... Also i was wondering if it was possible to join servers together in one whm? So under Ip Adresses we could just specify a new Ip & server would this work ? I really need help fast since i get an average of 90 sighnups a day. and im sorry if theres a simple solution to this.. Primary Domain Change For WHM Account
I have a hostee who as part of an out-of-court settlement, needs to change the primary domain they host on. The domain they're switching to is already a parked domain on their account. At first blush, it seems like it would be pretty easy, but now I'm concerned about their email. Both of the principals of the company use Horde extensively for webmail, and as such I have files on the server for their email accounts. What I was thinking about doing is this: 1. Stop parking the "new" domain on the account. 2. Change the account from using the "old" domain in WHM to the "new" domain by modifying the account in WHM. 3. Forwarding email sent to user@old.domain to user@new.domain, in CPanel. 4. Assorted changes on website to account for the new domain - published email addresses, new SSL cert, things like that. My concern is in how to move the mail files, currently set up to be for user@old.domain, to be readable by Horde as user@new.domain, so it's seamless to the users. We will be keeping the old domain under our control, but not using it to point to the site any more; I just don't want to have to tell them "OK, to get your old email, you have to check this address, and to get new email, you have to check this one." Would my plan above actually accomplish that? Is there a better way within a WHM/CPanel framework to accomplish what I need without losing email or access to it? What am I missing?

Small LAMP VPS For Primary DNS Server
Because of the security issues inherent in controlling DNS servers on other VPS/servers that run other processes, host websites and store mission-critical data and for other reasons related to control, we want to keep our DNS server separate from our other servers and our own desktops. Therefore, we're going to get a small VPS for this purpose. We won't totally cheap out on this so we'll be getting a quality VPS from a good provider. But, we probably don't need more than 5 or 10G of HD space but we wonder how much RAM and bandwidth we need to run something like MyDNS with MyDNSConfig with a MySQL backend. Also, what's the best Linux distro for this kind of thing? We use CentOS with facility but are not afraid to try a new one if it's a better choice for this purpose.

I have a vps with dedicated ip's for my domain names. I read that in order for mails coming from my server not be picked up as spam, i need to add reverse ip entries. Now i have already added the glue nameserver records on my godaddy control panel, ns1.mydomain.com -> 10.20.30.40 ns2.mydomain.com -> 10.20.30.41 But do i need to speak to the datacenter to add the reverse dns entries for my domain on their nameservers? What about if i host my nameservers offsite, but then have my webserver/mailserver etc inside the datacenter? Domain Parking - Wildcard Domain Name Server (DNS)?
We have a lot of unused domains that we'd like to setup domain parking for. To keep it simple, we'd like to just change the namesevers to ns1.domainparking.com and ns2.domainparking.com (not real nameservers!) and the domains would then automatically show a simple web page. Using Domain Name Server (DNS) And A Backup Server
I currently have two VPS servers, each with 2 DNS names running on them as follows: dns1.mydomain.com (on Server A) dns2.mydomain.com (on Server A) dns3.mydomain.com (on Server B) dns4.mydomain.com (on Server B) I have websites running on each server and I would like to have something set-up so that when one server goes down, the other server displays a nice page saying the website is unavailable currently and will be back shortly - you know, something nicer then the normal "Server Not Found" default messages. What is the best way to do this? If I have CLIENTDOMAIN.COM and put them on Server A and they use all 4 DNS server names, will the top two DNS names always be used by people finding the website, and the bottom two choices only be used if the top two can't be found? I believe I have to create an account on Server B for them as well, just only placing the temporary page within the account, rather then a whole copy of their website. Correct?

I just migrate my server into IWeb, the server working great and in reasonable price but the problem is this server give me some funny problem. Anyone can help? Basically I am in Singapore. My Website which suppose to show english content somehow become mass question mark as below. I am Sure that its not coding problem or Encoding problem since last time it can working fine (it happen only after I migrate the server from layeredtech into here) But the content will show correctly if you open from US IP or other proxy server. I try in many computer here , some computer show error as I have. So its not computer problem as well since many computer see same error. It will working fine again after I download and reupload the file but it will back again after 2 weeks. Is it anything wrong with my server? or dns server setting? why only shown the problem from singapore-malaysia and indonesia side? Some people say it because error on my DNS ISP , but I dont think so since many people in those country see the same thing. Any idea what should I do?

Sending Email To Another Server When The Email Address Domain Is On This Server
I currently have a domain on Server 1 (Linux, Apache, Ubuntu, Matrix control panel). This server does not have any spam filter, so I have moved all the email accounts to Server 2 (Linux, Apache, Fedora Core, Plesk) which does have a brilliant spam filter; and have changed the DNS record for mail.domain.com to the IP address for Server 2. Emails are being successfully received on Server 2. On Server 1, when an email is sent through SMTP to an address at that domain, it does not send it to Server 2, it gets delivered to the hosting account for the domain on Server 1. So what I am guessing is happening is that Server 1 detects the domain has an account on the server, and instead of looking up the DNS info for that domain, just assumes it is on Server 1. What I need to do, is force Server 1 to send email for that domain to Server 2. Is this possible, and if so, how can it be achieved? If more info about the server is required for a solution please let me know and I'll provide what I can.

Additional Name Server For Each Domain Name
I currently manage a dedicated server to host all of our client’s websites, emails and databases. We are now looking to purchase an additional dedicated server so we can synchronize/mirror all of our clients accounts (email, website & databases) to the 2nd server, just incase the 1st server ever went down. The name server settings for each domain name are managed from our hosting providers own server so we can login and point each domain name to any name server we want. So for example we have a domain say; example.com pointing to the following name servers for our 1st sever; ns1.exampleserver1.com ns2.exampleserver1.com Because we can add as many name servers to each domain name as we want, we would like to purchase the 2nd server from a different hosting provider which would have name servers such as the following; ns1.exampleserver2.com ns2.exampleserver2.com Then we want to add the following name servers to each domain name we host. ns1.exampleserver1.com ns2.exampleserver1.com ns1.exampleserver2.com ns2.exampleserver2.com The 2nd server would be based at a completely different location so just incase there was a problem with the network to server 1, our clients would still have access to their email etc on server 2 because each domain would have 4 name servers. I am under the impression that if the 1st server is down and someone types in the website address example.com, it would first look for; ns1.exampleserver2.com ns2.exampleserver2.com and if the 1st server was down, it would then look for ; ns1.exampleserver2.com ns2.exampleserver2.com which would mean our clients could still use their email, websites etc as normal because the 2nd synchronized server has all the data from the 1st server. Am I right in thinking this is possible? And would this work?

Mod_rewrite To Another Domain On Another Server
So - I'm trying to do the following: Have multiples domains on multiple servers, with a single server handling them all. I need mod_rewrite to map: [url] -> [url] But do it silently - so a [301] Redirect or similar won't do - www.olddomain.com is still the domain I want everyone to use *always*. I've seen ProxyPass (and mod_proxy) but it appears that these need to be done at an httpd.conf-type level - how can this be achieved with mod_rewrite? Effectively, I just want *everything* on a particular domain redirected to another domain silently in the background. We are trying to implement a reseller model shopping website for our resellers. The customized shopping website for the reseller will be hosted on our website, say: abc.xyz.com We want our resellers to load abc.xyz.com from their own sub domain itself, like: shopping.abc.com I know that this can be done using a URL redirection, but is there any way that shopping.abc.com will load the contents from abc.xyz.com and still keep the URL unchanged in the address bar ? Changing Server Domain Name
I have a dedicated server with around 8 clients on it running CentOS and WHM/Cpanel. Server is currently named server.oldname.com with 2 ns records ns1.oldname.com and ns2.oldname.com which are assigned the first two IP's of my block of 8 available to me through the datacenter. I have purchased a new domain name and have changed the name of my company. I am wondering the easiest way to go about changing server.oldname.com to server.newname.com and to create new glue records to replace ns1.oldname.com and ns2.oldname.com with the ns1.newname.com and ns2.newname.com Are there any guides or detailed steps in this? Since my business so far has been local, I have the username and passwords to manage many peoples registrar records. I don't mind having to update theirs to the new ns's manually. Is it possible to have ns1.oldname.com ns2.oldname.com and ns1.newname.com and ns2.newname.com at the same time? So, I could essentially change people over gradually. Would their be any things to worry about in all of this?

Moving Domain To New Server - Imap?
We have a client who has a site currently hosted with some guys in germany. I cannot speak german, so am unable to chat to the support there, so thought I would ask here. We are wanting to move their site to new hosts, as we are re-developing it for them, and their current setup does not suit our needs. The only issue I am not too sure about is the following: They rely heavily on their email (what company doesnt nowadays?), and they currently have IMAP acounts. They use thunderbird on a Mac for all their emails, so all their mail would presumably be on their machines. No, if I moved their email accounts, would all the emails be deleted from their Thunderbird on their Macs? I know they wouldnt for POP, but I have only ever dealt with POP, nt IMAp. If they will get deleted, what is the best way for me to handle this?

i have a reseller and a client couldn't renew his domain name , so he bought a new domain name and he wants me to move his files (hosted on his old domain name) to his new domain name . how can i do that ?? (his old domain name is hosted on godaddy now)

Domain Name Server DNS Pointing
Hello all, hope someone can help. I have a domain incl. hosting (fanferwalde.com) and three extra domain names, fanferwalde.nl , fanfalingasate.com , fanfalingasate.nl (all three without hosting) who I want to point to fanferwalde.com. Before I bought the extra domains I asked the provider if I could point the extra domains to the “head” domain (fanferwalde.com). Yes, that was possible they said so I bought the extra domains. I asked the provider to help with the configuration to point them to the head domain but they refused, I must do it by myself…………………….. There is no possibility they do it when I pay extra for it so I feel pressed to take also a hosting for the extra domains; then I can make a redirect on each index page. All domain names have an own DNS control panel. I have full access to this. The first picture is the DNS from the head domain. The second picture is the DNS from one of the extra domains I want to point to the head domain. What must I put where so the website from fanferwalde.com will appear when I write fanferwalde.nl in the browser? THANKS in advance!!! (Sorry for my bad English, I’m Dutch)

I´m running 4 servers on a cpanel - dns - cluster. - 1 running cpanel (srv01) - 3 running cpanel-dns-only (cluster01 - cluster03) My DNS config is: srv01 - dns1.domain.com cluster01 - dns2.domain.com I ´ve setup on srv01: - cluster01 (synchronize changes) - cluster02 (standalone) - cluster03 (standalone) On cluster01: - srv01 (synchronize changes) - cluster02 (standalone) - cluster03 (standalone) And on cluster02 and cluster03, I did something like that: - srv01 (synchronize changes) - cluster01 (synchronize changes) - cluster03 (standalone) And - srv01 (synchronize changes) - cluster01 (synchronize changes) - cluster02 (standalone) 1. So, is that correct? 2. It seems that when I click on 'syncronize all DNS records on all the servers' only cluster01 and srv01 got all the DNS records. So is it normal? Yet If I add a domain on cluster02 for example, where I need to add the DNS? cluster02 named.conf or on cluster01/srv01?
