We have an AWS plesk instance with around 400 domains on. All domains DNS are pointing mail to a different server and almost all domains have a contact form on their website.
the problem is, the contact forms won't work as mail is on a different server. I'm assuming that the local server thinks mail is on the server and thinks it has already been received?
is this because we need to disable incoming mail for all of these domains? if so how would we go about doing this? I tried stopping all courier-imap services but this didn't seem to work.
1/ What is the difference between maillog and maillog.processed? I want to keep a permanent record of all mail inbound and outbound even if delivery is deferred by the gray listing. I'm not sure which one is the best to keep.
2/ I would like to change the way that the mail logs get log rotated. I am struggling to work out exactly what happens at the moment but I would like to rotate the log out every day regardless of size. I think currently that the maillog.processed is rotated daily if it is over a specific size.
i have installed a new mail server i.e. SmarterMail, and from past few days i have devoted much time to find "How to create Out Bound rules in Smarter Mail?" but unfortunately i ended up with no solution, hence here i am seeking help from all the member of WHT for my two questions:
1) Can we create an out bound rule in smartermail?
I tried a little searching both in Google and on here but this is probably going to be a private or member-based thing anyway.
I've gotten a couple comments that some of my outbound personal mail is ending up in spam folders. I think it's almost completely limited to having Outlook (or Express?) as a client... which I assume doesn't even do network-based lookups. Nonetheless I don't seem to be on any blacklists, and running it through my own spamassassin filter comes up basically zero score. But the fact that more than one person has had the problem concerns me greatly. Also, I haven't seen any significant reason why the content itself would trigger anything.
I realize a public spam test service would basically be a "testing ground" for spammers to evade detection, but there's obviously legitimate uses as well... is there such a tool somewhere? Thanks for any advice. Public information sharing is key to a forum, but PMs are welcome in this case.
I upgraded from 11 to 12 (centOS) and set outgoing mail limits for mailboxes, domains and subscriptions, as per the documentation at URL....However, it doesn't appear the limits are limiting outgoing mail. As I can still send far more mail than the current limit using a PHP script.
#### maillog (partial & timestamp + servername removed for brevity) #### py_limit_out[16427]: ERROR 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'lower' plesk sendmail[16426]: Error during 'limit-out' handler plesk sendmail[16426]: handlers_stderr: SKIP plesk sendmail[16426]: SKIP during call 'check-quota' handler
[code]....
how to configure outgoing mail limits? I've also read through the sendmail documentation but couldn't find anything.
I installed new Plesk in new VPS with Centos 7 (Virtuozzo - former PCS)... One domain is running, but when reboot the server, maillog stopped.

Since upgrading to 12.0.18 i have picked up a strange problem when creating a new email account. The Mail tab is not displayed and does not allow me to create email accounts, in version 11.5 I also appeared tab. I have reviewed the FAQ and the solution to change tables in the DB does not serve 11.5 (I understand that by varying the field names and values in 12.0.18).
I have a little problem configuring the mail server in Plesk 12. I bought a VPS with Plesk 12 is hosted in OVH.es just for learning. I've got an external domain in OVH.es from 1and1.co.uk. The domain is properly configured and all is working well but the mail server. In OVH.es manager I can't create emails for an external domains (it is not allowed), only redirections. This is how it is in the manager: .domain.com MX 1 Redirecciones redirect.ovh.net.Support OVH.es told me that I can configure within plesk 12. I suposse it is in zone DNS but I don't know how to do it.
On the server, there is installed a WordPress installation. Mail from this WordPress installation never reaches for example suscribers. Almost all mail remains in the Queue and will be deleted after 7 days. Could it be because I do not have an SSL Certificate? %
I switched off the mail service for one of my domains in that sites control panel a few days ago because there were some malicious files on my server sending out spam. I stopped the service until I cleared all the files that weren't meant to be there and then tried to restart the mail service again but it won't start.
I get this message 'Information: Mail service settings were successfully changed for the selected domains.' but the service stays off. I had the same problem on another site on the same server and carried out the same process but the mail service for that website started fine.
I installed Cloudflare for Plesk during this time and thought that might be causing an issue but after disabling this I still can't start the mail service for the domain.
Is there a section of the main (super admin) control panel that manages the mail services for each domain I am unaware of?
My server with Plesk 11 died a few days ago. I now have a new server with Plesk 12.
I have the entire /var folder copied up from the old server.
How do I restore emails to the new server? Can I simply copy /var/qmail/mailnames/domain.name from the backed up /var folder into the corresponding folder on the new server?
My mail queue is growing up. I've stopped qmail but the queue goes on growing I must have an script running injecting mail in the queue, how can I find the script? I looked the running process (ps ) but I can not find anything (there is a lot of process!!!!)
I’ve read the documentations of (PBAS, Plesk, and Securing Websites).how to add SSL Certificate to our Webmail? In addition, I need to know, how to request CSR key and install SSL for our mail server in order for us to protect our emails and to use the SSL Protocol in mail softwares such as Outlook? I will explain the scenario in details:
1- We have (www.example.com) which is our "Plesk Server hostname" and a subscription in our "Plesk Server". 2- We have (pbas.example.com) which is our "PBAS Server hostname" and it's not a subscription in our "Plesk Server". 3- We have (account.example.com) which is a "Subscription" in our "Plesk Server".
Here are the DNS records of our domain and subdomains: Host-Type-Data -A-192.168.1.30 www-A-192.168.1.30 mail-A-192.168.1.30 pbas-A-192.168.1.31 account-A-192.168.1.32 -MX-example.com.
how to generate CSR key for each domain/subdomain and how to install the SSL for it? Our "Plesk" is 11.5 and installed on CentOS 6.4.
Lately I've been spending a lot of time grok'ing the Postfix logfile (i.e., /usr/local/psa/var/log/maillog) and I've been noticing a lot of authentication failures (and even one successful break-in).
Most entries are just a simple pair of log entries that includes the source IP address and then the details of the mailbox name, like this one:
Code: Aug 12 08:08:18 www postfix/smtpd[4805]: warning: unknown[162.255.86.250]: SASL LOGIN authentication failed: authentication failure Aug 12 08:08:20 www plesk_saslauthd[4434]: failed mail authenticatication attempt for user 'media@example.com' (password len=6)
[Code]....
How are these entries generated? i.e., Why mailbox name given right away some times (like the first example) while - other times - the account name isn't displayed for several seconds - almost ninety seconds in the second example?
If I execute /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/mail_handlers_control --list than I get a Block with some Email Addresses which are not major. What does it tell?
