Easiest Way To Park A Domain After Registration
I was wondering what you people do when a new customer registers a new domain (only domain) and then parks in on your server. Now I manually park it on top of parked.myhost.com so that everybody who visits this domain will see the custom "Hosted with"-page. But there has to be an easier way/automatic way to do this? So please, share your knowledge

Add-On Domain Park Wrapper
I moved my whole account from one server to another but now the add-on domains inside the main domain are not working. When I try to re-add the domains in the new host's cpanel, it says: Quote: Error from park wrapper: domain.org is already configured. What file is it on the server that holds this information? OS: Linux Red Hat 5 Control Panel: CPanel Our customer lately complained to us about parked domain. He parked a domain domain.name but the problem is that i can't find that an entry for that domain. I mean its not in "Parked Domains" where i ussually find normally created domains. When i attempt to recreate a parked domain, it says that Quote: Error from park wrapper: domain.name is already configured. And whenever i make a query [url]it says that Quote: Unable to find out which user owns the parked domain domain.name. However the domain seem to work correctly. I didn't set these domains up, a previous programmer at my job did. How do I configure resolv.conf, named.conf and the zone file(s) correctly to have domain B redirect to domain A? I've already set up httpd.conf so that any requests for the host name of domain A will redirect. e.g. [url]-> [url] I just need the DNS part of this fixed (that I'm a bit of a noob at). Do I have to do something like this in named.conf: Code: zone "domaina.com" { type master; file "/var/named/domaina.com.hosts"; }; zone "domainb.com" { type master; file "/var/named/domaina.com.hosts"; }; Then in the domaina.com.hosts zone file add an alias like this? Domain Registration For FDC Dedicated Server
I just ordered a dedicated server from FDC.Now I want to register a domain from GoDaddy. It asks for two DNS name. Normally it should be something like ns1.yourdomain.com and ns2.yourdomain.com. But the thing is, I don't even have a domain, how can I provide DNS like ns1.yourdomain.com? What I have now are two dediced IPs for future DNS, but GoDaddy won't accept IPs as DNS. Does this sound like egg first or chicken first delima? can I use FDC DNS instead of mine own to register a domain from GoDaddy.

How To Easiest Do Backup And Transfer Of Mysql Files
I have following problem-i have over 20 sites on server and each site has own database.Is there a way to speed up backup and transfer or other server? Method which i use right now it's following:first i archive entire directory using command tar -pczf name.tar.gz public_html,and then repeat with each directory.But i think i could simply archive all requied directories,but that will took toomuch time,so if i drop connection during archiving it wont be archived at all then.So i think best solution will be to create some kind of batch command which can load in background,so that means command wont stop if client lost connection. So let's say i have 2 sites and two directories located and different places. One is at home/site1 and other at home/site2 So i think i would need to put command into batch file tar -pczf site.tar.gz. /home/site1 and tar -pczf site2.tar.gz /home/site2 Will that work? Also second part,mysql databases,i founded if i login into phpmyadmin as root i can see all databases.I managed to export all databases,but question will import again to phpmyadmin work.I think phpmyadmin create command for each database "if there is no db sitename_mysqlbase,create it",but howmuch i know phpmyadmin have limit with importing size of mysql database.Could that be done with import/export mysql command?

Easiest Automation Of VPS Solutions For Hosting Provider?
I'm doing some research on offering VPS hosting solutions, nothing firm yet as do we start to offer them or not. So, what are you experiences for as automated as possible VPS hosting offering? Using multiple servers as VPS hosts etc. ready made images etc. Or am i better of by doing custom tailored my own? The basic plan is to offer as automated as possible, with minimal support overhead etc. using 2co/paypal/moneybookers subscriptions etc. basicly as simple, and yet as powerfull as possible. Sounds like custom tailored system is the best option. How about just the server backend only automation wise?

After some experimenting with Linux VPS setups, I'm eager to explore windows VPS software. Two questions I guess, first off, what is the cheapest method of offering multiple VPS accounts on a windows server? Are there any free or build in Microsoft methods? Registration Site - What Do I Need
I am building a Web Registration System so people can register to attend seminars that I will be giving. What basic web-hosting functionality and features will I need when I get a web-hosting account? (I plan on using PHP and MySQL, so that is a given!) Questions: 1.) Newservers.com - Big Registration
There are a couple issues here. When I registered for a server, I put in my credit card information wrong, meaning, I put in my new address instead of my old address. As I go to process it, it says, Registration Error, could not process this request or w/e it said. So I remembered that my card was set to my old address and I put that in. Gave me the Registration Error again. At this point, I was like, what's going on? I double checked everything and realized that I put in the wrong zip code. Fixed the zip code, processed the order, and then I was taken to the login screen or whatever, I don't remember. (It's been a long day and night.) Keep in mind, I only had used this server for only 22 Hours and I don't see how this could of happened. Now, I got a couple screenshots here and I want to see if you guys can see something wrong with it. [url] [url] I hate Photobucket's Compression.

I have a vps with dedicated ip's for my domain names. I read that in order for mails coming from my server not be picked up as spam, i need to add reverse ip entries. Now i have already added the glue nameserver records on my godaddy control panel, ns1.mydomain.com -> 10.20.30.40 ns2.mydomain.com -> 10.20.30.41 But do i need to speak to the datacenter to add the reverse dns entries for my domain on their nameservers? What about if i host my nameservers offsite, but then have my webserver/mailserver etc inside the datacenter? Would i need to request the datacenter where the nameservers are hosted to add the reverse ip entries for the domain, and then the request the same from the datacenter for my web/mail servers to add the reverse entries? Is it really required?

Domain Parking - Wildcard Domain Name Server (DNS)?
We have a lot of unused domains that we'd like to setup domain parking for. To keep it simple, we'd like to just change the namesevers to ns1.domainparking.com and ns2.domainparking.com (not real nameservers!) and the domains would then automatically show a simple web page. We use cpanel servers and are wondering how easy this is to do? I've seem mention of wildcard dns? Is that the answer?

i have about 8 different domains i'd like to point to a nameserver (ns1./ns2.mydomain.com) on Win2k3 server, but i can't get them resolved through my nameserver without creating a manual forward lookup entry for each *parked* domain separatly.. Does anyone know how to resolve "parked" domains automatically on Win2k3 DNS?? I just can't find any answer for this, everything i've found required manual creation of lookup entries.. anyone?

delving into a new server, a dual opteron w/Centos. Got two questions as I think about setup. 1) 32 bit or 64bit? 2) Regarding host names and server assignemt...I can either assign it as a node to a domain hosted elsewhere in a reseller account, or I can start with a completely unused domain which is currently parked. Any preference, in an ideal world? (I have absolutely no preference, but it occurrred to me it may or may not be of consequence, perfomance & IT-wise and generally speaking .. all things being equal, of course.) Like I said, a newbie. I'm setting my first eCommerce site and right now I need to resolve the following issue. I need to install (well, the hosting company will do it for me) a SSL certificate and I need to know what is best or common practice, to use domainname.com or www.domainname.com I don't know what difference it would make but it seems to do so because the hosting company is asking me to choose. have a such problem./ my customer have site domain.net, which is hosted on another host. now he bought domain.com and ask me, to setup this domain and point to domain.net. i'm on cpanel/whm. i ask customer on registrar page setup my nameservers, and trying to do edin dns zone..: as i know, i must do Quote: domain.com. Getting Www.domain.com To Work, Domain.com Resolves Correctly, Just Not With Www
Okay guys, a quick question for all the gurus out there. I'll admit I'm a bit embarassed posting such an easy question, but give a guy a break, I've been using managed servers for god knows how long and I've finally decided to take a dive into administration. Everything is firewalled and secured properly, I'm just having trouble getting the ServerAlias to work right. What happens is I go into my browser and enter in [url]walaa! It works. Now, when I enter in [url], it does not resolve. I have checked with "dig" the domain settings and it looks as though all of the nameservers are set up fine, this is an apache problem. I'm running apache 2.2 on Ubuntu 7.10 for all those who are interested. I have a domain aaa.com that has a page on it. It used to work fine. I added another domain bbb.com and both were working well. Today, I discovered that no matter if I go to aaa.com or bbb.com, it always shows bbb.com. I didn't try to do something like that and don't want to. I have bought a Domain Name and changed the NameServers, it is still not picking up my site, I have been in touch with company I bought it from and they are not telling me I need to change the DNS to point at the server. What is the best way to get a Domain Name registered? Do I pay for the domain name fee or does the client go and get it? If I use GoDaddy for registering a domain name can it be used on another web hosting server? I see fees on some web hosting sites that charge to move your domain? Does this mean I/client gets charged for the Domain Name Only when moving their site from host to host or is it just the charge for moving your SITE to another host?
