I have recently upgraded mysql server from 5.0.75 to 5.1.31 on my Ubuntu server 9.04 32 bit. After that when I am running phpmyadmin it is printing a warning :
Your PHP MySQL library version 5.0.75 differs from your MySQL server version 5.1.31.
loading a phpinfo() shows that the mysql variable "Client API version" on my server doesn't match the version of mysql installed ( 4.0.20 when mysql version is 4.1.21).
Can this cause trouble and php or mysql errors on scripts i'm running?
I currently run a website which is hosted with storminternet.co.uk and, while I can't fault their reliability, the (lack of) performance is undermining the usefulnes of the website.
Key features of the website are:
- completely MySQL/PHP driven so the host needs MySQL support and processor power . Some of the MySQL queries are fairly complex and call upon multiple tables of large datasets.
- monthly bandwidth is much less of an issue than speed (if that's not an oxymoron) as the number of visitors is currently <250/day.
- most if not all of the visitors are from the UK
In terms of budget I would be willing to go £150+/year if the service was top quality.
I have a mysql based e-comm site that works only with older version of php and mysql. My shared host does not meet this requirements, so I have to go with a dedicated or vps.
I am looking for a server to have a fast mysql query.
Is there any vps providers that offer redundancy of the server, meaning if the server crash there should be a standby sever to take over?
I've been using Dreamhost for years and they're very good, but their MySql databases are quite slow. Then I moved to ServInt with a VPS, and my MySql is on localhost instead of on a different server. WOW! It's so fast!
However, now I'm trying to find a shared hosting package that has fast MySQL service.
I'm not sure if the requirement is that it's on localhost but it sure doesn't hurt.
Is there anyone who is familiar of a good solid shared hosting package with fast MySQL service?
for a linux web host that has extremely fast mysql connections, 100GB of bandwidth, and the amount of space has to be at least 1GB. Price doesn't really matter.

MySQL updated from 3 to 4.1. PHPinfo reports 3.1 is still in effect.
Any ideas?
Stumped me a little, every other MySQL upgrade has gone 100% perfect.
Im blaming PHPINFO for now
I need MySQL 5.x for my IPB forum and took one host, but I cannot understand what version of MySQL i have, as:
cPanel says:
MySQL version: 5.0.45-community
but phpMyAdmin says:
Server version: 5.0.45-community
MySQL client version: 4.1.22
What version of MySQL do I really have?
What is difference with Server and client? and why version of client is not 5?
for a hosting plan now. I will mainly use it for developing. What version of PHP and MySql is reasonable to settle for? I understand that the later the better, but I see that most hosting companies are stuck in PHP 4.1 and MySql 4.4. Is that good enough?
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhich version of MySQL is the most used version in webhosts? The latest version of MySQL is version 5.1.
I am wondering because PHP5 which came out back in 2005 has still not been adopted in many web hosts.
Is mysql 4 the most used or mysql 5.x ? Which is the most common mysql version?
The most important requirement is that the webhost must be fast. It must have alot of bandwidth.
The disc space is not so important. 200 MB would be enough.
It must have PHP, MySQL and phpmyadmin installed.
Must be accesable through FTP.
There are offcourse more requirements. But the main thing is that i want it to be fast.
My pages will be only informative and exists of just mainly text and an image every now and then.
Do you know any fast webhosts that is good to handle websites with large amounts of visitors?
I'm looking for something around 6 dollars per month.
I dont know much about webhosting at all, so i'd appreciate any help i can get
Also i see websites where you can register a domain. But the prices vary, isn't a domain just a domain? What makes this price difference?
What will be best combo of those 3 which is main core for running almost any web server.Presently i have latest mysql, apache and php installed, but some people says how that is not good beacuse newest version arenot tested yet well enough.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI can't for the life of me figure out how to upgrade the Client API version authencation method in php for MySQL.
The server had MySQL 3.23.58 before and doing a phpinfo() reflects that. The problem is even after I install a newer version of MySQL 4.1.22 (using RPMs), it still doesn't see it.
I've ran privilege table fix but I am unable to use any mysql accounts unless I use the old password method.
I can have MySQL be up and running using the old password method but I prefer that it works with the newer authentication method since things could go wrong if I do the other way.
Is there a way I can resolve this? or do I just have to stick with the old password hashing method?
I have recently upgraded MySQL to 5.25
However, when I run phpinfo, I see the following:
mysql
MySQL Support enabled
Active Persistent Links 0
Active Links 0
Client API version 4.1.21
MYSQL_MODULE_TYPE external
MYSQL_SOCKET /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock
MYSQL_INCLUDE -I/usr/include/mysql
MYSQL_LIBS -L/usr/lib/mysql -lmysqlclient
mysqli
MysqlI Support enabled
Client API library version 4.1.21
Client API header version 4.1.20
MYSQLI_SOCKET /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock
I'm still using Plesk 11.5.30 and MySql 5.5.39. That was discribed here how to update. But i need to have a MySql 5.6.5 (minimum) for some software (This version is over 2 years old). I'm using CentOs 6.5. and PHP 5.4.33
how to do this, whitout breaking plesk 11.5.30??
Is it possible to update the MySQL version on the db nodes from 5.1 to 5.5 or is it supported?

Apache 2.4.9 Win32 [Apache VC11 Binary] httpd-2.4.9-win32-VC11.zip
And included ModSecurity from download: modules-2.4-win32-VC11.zip..
The version of ModSecurity is mod_security-2.7.7 . It is up and running, but I get a warning:
ModSecurity: Loaded PCRE do not match with compiled!
Here's the difference in the PCRE from the logs:
PCRE compiled version="8.33 "; loaded version="8.34 2013-12-15".
The compiled version does not match the loaded version. Is this something I should be concerned about and try to find compiled versions that match?
Is cPanel 11 stable

IIS6
PHP 5.0.3 and PHP 5.2.1 running with the ISAPI dll
MySQL 5.1.11
I kind of have 2 problems, the first being the one in the thread title and the second is while running any version of php my main site experiences slowdowns and hangs.
For some reason whenever I try to install a new version of PHP I have major problems. I have tried several times when new versions come out. I just recently tried the newest, 5.2.1, which I want to try and use, I think there are performance improvements for IIS and windows platform in the new 5.x versions?
Anyway I can install 5.2.1 and get it running, and my sites load, but soon after my main site starts to hang, stops loading or loads extremely slow. I can't figure it out. I even tried using the exact same PHP.ini settings from my old working php install.
So everytime I am forced to go back to the latest version that I know works with my server/sites, 5.0.3 [url]
If I restart IIS the pages start loading fast again right after, even recycling the worker process that the site uses usualy makes the pages load normal again.
I tried setting the worker process to recycle every 60min and to use 2 web gardens. These changes havn't really had any affect for better or worse.
Downgrading back to PHP 5.0.3 seems to run a bit more stable, but even with this version I get these slowdowns now. I have been running my site(s) on this server for 3 years now and most of the time they have ran stable.
--------------------------------------------------------
I was sleeping this morning and recieved a text-message saying the site wasn't loading. So I wake up and the site indeed was pretty much not loading at all. I look at permon that I left running to see this: [url]
I give IIS a restart, which you can see above, then the levels go back to normal, here is a screen shot a couple minites later to what the "Current Connections" graph usualy looks like when the site loads fine. [url]
During this slowdown the CPU usage was not maxing out, was maybe averaging 60% and ram was 50%. I am getting a 2nd server soon to off-load the MySQL to it and have it dedicated for that. But i don't think that will help this current issue. Here is the system resources when the site is loading fine: [url]
I have around 40 or so other sites hosted on IIS and my main site "canadaka.net" which is purple on the top graph, is the only one that hangs or slowsdown. When this slowdown happens to this site, all the other sites on IIS, which are on a seperate worker process, continue to load fine.
I can't figure out why these slowdowns are happening.
I need a Windows VPS to run ASP.NET 2.0 applications because my current provider is having some issues that keep my VPS down. As i am new to Windows hosting so i need a managed plan.
Another thing is that it must be stable. I usually have VPSes with Knownhost and they are really stable ( just wish they offer windows vps ). I need something like them ( uptime > 99,99% ).
What options do i have?
Well haven't managed hosting on vps machines yes so I am wondering that how much this type of machine suit for running a hosting business ? Very honestly I think that people use vps for temporary bases and later they move to individual servers. I will appreciate your opinion.

I need a stable C2D board that works with linux and lan. I was thinking of a Intel G965 board but I heard that chipset isn't supported in linux?
Building a mid tower for a colo.
Have run through a bunch of threads on mod_proxy race conditions, possible causes, and potential solutions.
What is the status? Is there a fix for this, maybe in 2.4.7?
On 2.4.3 in production we literally have 10K errors in the past 2 months along the lines of:
Code : AH00898: Error reading from remote server returned by...
Application server (JVM webapp) issues no errors at the time of mod_proxy error occurring. It seems then that mod_proxy is sporadically broken, which is horrible for end users accessing an otherwise rock solid production application.
I would like to know which Linux family Operating System is more stable and have a better support for a Dedicated Server .....?
