I just want to check my email. Unfortunately, my connection dropped while I was downloading mail and now exim wants me to wait for the previous open connection to timeout.
So where is the exim lock file stored by default? I just want to delete it and access my email NOW!
I currently have a vps, just name it myvps.com (not subname.myvps.com).
I wanna send email to somename@myvps.com from php
php with sendmail function always try to send to user 'someone' on this vps that doesn't exist, junk the root user mail with mailer-daemon explaining that no such 'someone' user. I want to route it to another server.
I'm migrating some accounts to a new server. So the dns will also change with it.
I want to ensure no email is lost in the process. Here's how I plan on tackling it, and I'm hoping you can offer suggestions:
1. Create all mail accounts on the new server.
2. Each person who has an account does the following in their respective desktop email applications:
a. Create a new mail account and use the IP of the new server instead of the domain name. b. After a few days, update the IP to the domain name, and delete the old mail account.
Will this ensure no email is lost?
One other question:
What about the case where one of the sites has data updated each day? How to properly move this to a new server, without getting the database out of sync?
Exim on my dedicated have been a very strage comportment. If I try send email for some domains I receive errors as:
======================== root@server01 [/var/spool/exim/db]# mail -v xx@terra.com.br Subject: lol10 . Cc: Null message body; hope that's ok LOG: MAIN <= root@server01.xxxx.com U=root P=local S=377 root@server01 [/var/spool/exim/db]# delivering 1K3Ptz-000110-L8 Connecting to mx.terra.com [200.154.55.2]:25 ... connected SMTP<< 450 Client host rejected: cannot find your hostname, [xx.228.179.xx] SMTP>> QUIT LOG: MAIN SMTP error from remote mail server after initial connection: host mx.terra.com.br [200.154.55.2]: 450 Client host rejected: cannot find your hostname, [xx.228.179.xx] LOG: MAIN == xx@terra.com R=lookuphost T=remote_smtp defer (0): SMTP error from remote mail server after initial connection: host mx.terra.com.br [200.154.55.2]: 450 Client host rejected: cannot find your hostname, [xx.228.179.xx] ========================
But My server have RDNS and PTR configured correct.
So If I try again I receive other kind of error as:
======================== root@server01 [/var/spool/exim/db]# mail -v xx@terra.com.br Subject: ggg . Cc: Null message body; hope that's ok LOG: MAIN <= root@server01.xx.com U=root P=local S=375 root@server01 [/var/spool/exim/db]# delivering 1K3Pyt-00014j-3C LOG: retry_defer MAIN == xx@terra.com.br R=lookuphost T=remote_smtp defer (-53): retry time not reached for any host =============================
But If I delete file /var/spool/exim/db/retry and /var/spool/exim/db/retry.lockfile before sending i can send message without any problem. So If I try again some minutes later the problem come back.
We have a script that will be sending out emails from our server. A few already have hit the Outlook SPAM folder. The email that's sent is a validation check, where the user has to click a link to verify an account.
Is there some service out there where you can send it your email and it will tell you if and then why it will be caught by leading spam filters?
Is there anyway to capture emails sent using SMPT with exim? I need to find a way to monitor outbound email traffic, along with the subject, message, etc.
Just started to have problems sending emails out but no problem receiving.
Seems to be a exim problem.. tried updating it but the problem still exist but everytime I restart exim then it works for a few hours before the problem comes back.
For the last 5 days, exim has been retrying to resend email to a recipent every 1 millisecond.
As result, logs are huge, and load is being affected.
So I'd like to know how can I set/configure exim to ingore sending to any email I'd tell it.
I mean is there any config file I can look into, to set a ignore list, or even how to have it so that it retries sending every 1 hour, instead of every 1 millisecond.
I am having issues in receieving emails. For some reason, the rbl lists I had setup are causing the server to reject emails (retry - timeout). So, I need to take this rbl list completely. How can I do that? exim.conf is locked and using the advanced editor is no fun even though I tried it putting the dnslists without the rbl causing the problem.
I would like to know how to check load via ssh and check files causing load?
I want the ssh codes for 2 different set of control panels, one with cpanel+whm and other with kloxo+hypervm
and I would also know how to check the files causing the load, such as some files could have been interrupted while processing, so they could be causing load some times, so I want to stop such processes if any are running on the vps on my friends accounts

Cipher list []. Due to weaknesses in the SSLv2 cipher you should disable SSLv2 in WHM > Apache Configuration > Global Configuration > SSLCipherSuite > Add -SSLv2 to SSLCipherSuite and/or remove +SSLv2. Do not forget to Save AND then Rebuild Configuration and Restart Apache, otherwise the changes will not take effect in httpd.conf
Can someone explain this in laymen terms? I know this is new in Cpanel. I'm already running Apache 2.2, PHP 5.2.9 with suPHP enabled and mod_security as well (these rules: [url]
Also, what exactly are these CSF checks?
Check csf PT_SKIP_HTTP option This option disables checking of processes running under apache and can limit false-positives but may then miss running exploits
Check csf SAFECHAINUPDATE option This option closes a window of opportunity that opens when dynamic chain updates occur
