How To Install This On A Dedicated Server?

I'm trying to install "Wowza" on my new dedicated server from iWeb. Im not familiar with installing something on a dedicated server so i was hoping for some help.
If you click the link below and click the "Linux install" (i have Enterprise Linux centOS) then next to the download now button you see:
To install:
sudo chmod +x WowzaMediaServerPro-1.5.0.tar.bin
sudo ./WowzaMediaServerPro-1.5.0.tar.bin

I have putty which that looks like a requirement. But do i upload the download to the server? how exactly? then just type those two lines with the install file in the home directory?

For the last several days on one of our dedicated servers, a AMD 3000+ 2GB RAM 2x80GB HDD 5TB traffic installed with CentOS 5.3 64-bit w/a GNU Linux kernel-2.6.18-128.1.10.el5, we use as a 'backup' to our master, we've been having resolver issues. If we attempt to ping, dig or nslookup ANY hostname, we get "unknown host domainexample.com". We can, however, ping IP addresses, including the external one for the server. (Pinging the server from another, not connected to the network returns 0% packet loss.)
Our package managers can't resolve hostnames, either. For instance, when we try to run yum, we get:
"Could not retrieve reponamehere [url]
[Errno 4] IOError: <urlopen error (-2, 'Name or service not known')>
Error: Cannot find a valid baseurl for repo: reponamehere"
We've already tried disabling several repos and it should be noted that when we use "wget" or "git" or any other package installer, we have the same resolving issues.
Our "/etc/resolv.conf" contains nameservers for the major upstream DC to our provider, which gave us permission to use them. We've tried two sets from them as well as those from our provider and from a DNS service provider. None have worked. (BTW, We have two servers with this provider and the other one is fine; the provider, though this is an unmanaged sever, is attempting to be very helpful and responsive. No problems there.)
We've tried rebooting the server and flushing IPtables as well as stopping it altogether. (Thankfully, we've set our DNS, SQL and httpd servers to run on boot) Nothing seems to resolve the issue (no pun intended).
However, we think this problem may have to do with having installed Suhosin on the server this past weekend since it seems to have started shortly after that but we're not sure. We are getting the following errors in from our httpd logs, though:

When we ran 'tcpdump', all it returned was the IP address for the server connected on several ports via SSH. Running 'netstat -an' shows the server's IP address, again connected on different ports, and the localhost address connected on a few. No other IP addresses--and we have about 10--are showing as connected.
Anyway, this is all we've been able to figure out. Anyone had this problem and solved it successfully?

to move from shared windows hosting to Dedicated windows hosting. This will be our first dedicated server and experience with dealing it too.
Someone suggested me Rackspace. But they were charging premium rates 440 USD for entry level windows server.

I am currently using a shared hosting but due to increasing traffic and server load my existing host is not able to provide reliable services and I am planning to upgrade my hosting service.
While I was searching for Dedicated Servers, I learnt about Virtual Dedicated Servers but I am not very sure about their reliability? Are Virtual Dedicated Servers useful? My website current serves over 2500-3000 visitors a day resulting in 30,000 pageviews and I am expecting the traffic to grow by atleast 2 folds in the next few months as I start some PPC campaigns and Email Marketing for my website. Can a Virtual Dedicated Server cater such needs assuming my website to be more of less dynamic website written in php?

I want to install the application (if it is an application) on my Win 2003 dedicated so I can run PHP scripts.

there are a number of files, not sure which one I should download. Once downloaded, where do I put it, in Program Files? Is there an .exe file or something I should double click on to install it? Or id this supposed to be install on IIS?

So I have a website that requires a service be installed on the server (Wowza media server). I'm just not sure what I need to be able to do this. The service will get little use overall, but it is required.
From what I can tell this means I need some form of dedicated server, but that is an awfully large jump in cost when I get minimal use out of the service. That said, if it is the only option I will go for it.
So my question is, are there any options aside from dedicated servers that would let me install a service? If not, how cheap do you think I could get a dedicated server for?

Over the last few days I have spent many hours trying to install a web server onto my Windows XP Pro computer.
First attempt was to try XAMPPlite. It made a total mess of the config files with incomplete entries all over the place. I spent several hours trying to find and fix them but in the end gave up as it still didn't work and I had run out of ideas on which config files to rewrite.
Seconf attempt WAMP5. It managed to get more of the config files right that I had to repair in XAMPP but didn't turn on the .htaccess support and still had the same problem with not being able to run SQL in phpMyAdmin as I couldn't find a solution to with XAMPP.
Does anyone know of a combination package for these products that actually works or should I just do it the easy way with a separate install for each component?

i was trying to create a MySQL database for my site. My site is hosted on a yahoo server. From the control panel, when i click on the Mysql datbase link, i get a page that says Mysql database is active. Then as per the online help provided by yahoo, i created a database admin user name and password. Then i installed phpmyadmin in a newly created folder. Then i accessed the homepage of phpmyadmin and entered my login credentials i,e my database admin username and password. The next page that appears is supposed to let me create a database and access it. But all i get is an empty page with my domain name in the left hand side top corner and the link to the yahoo control panel on the right. I installed phpmyadmin couple of times to check if it was an installation problem, but it was of no use. I tried accesing it from my friends pc, but with no luck. I contacted yahoo support via email couple of days back, but still i haven received any reply from them. Please help me out to fix this problem. Is there anything i missed out?

I am trying to deploy siteminder web agent on apache web server.They have a pre-req which says that while installing apache server, "install as a service, available for all users" "When an Apache-based web server is installed using a single user account, the Agent configuration cannot detect the Apache-based web server installation."
I don't see any msi installer anymore for apache web server, which had this option to select while installing.Now all i see is a zip file and i just have to unzip as part of installation. With this when I install httpd as a service, it is not detected by siteminder agent.So how can I set this "install as a service, available for all users" after installing from zip file?
