Assigning Local Groups To Domain Users
Jul 1, 2009I have a samba server running as a NT domain controller, and a linux client computer that is joined to that domain controller. I login to the linux computer as a domain user, is it possible to assign local groups (e.g. games, floppy, video, etc) to the domain user other than modifying the /etc/group upon successful authentication? Can pam_group do what I need?

These emails are simply replies to people contacting me first then I reply with ONE message from an autoresponder. No further contact is made unless they write me back again.
This is not really something that would work with aweber, getresponse, or a similar service.
And most email service providers seem to have a limit of 250/messages a day.
I'm guessing I will need a dedicated server for this?
Anything else I need on the dedicated server? I only have a few mailbox accounts I use that I access via outlook.
Host Thousand Emails - VPS Or Dedicated
Feb 21, 2007My big client is coming to sign up with us included managment. He will use thousand email accounts for his staff in 4 companies in Asia. Just website, download brochures/pdfs and thousand emails.
Should I host him on my server or get him his own VPS / Dedicated server. He said I do whatever host him on mine or seperate server as long as the server is up.
I never host thousand emails before, I do not know which server is suit for him. I find if I host him on my server, many of his staff will check emails in business hours and may be causing my customers' sites slow.

Email Issue: Local Users Can Not Email Each Other
Oct 27, 2009I am having an email issue and I can not resolve. I am hoping for some assisstance here.
One of my local clients are not able to email each other in their office. (About 10 employess I believe)
They are using Outlook mail client, and using ISP's SMTP server. They are able to send/recieve email to other users externally, but not intenally.
Using webmail works perfectly fine.
I spoke with my host and the said everything is working fine. I checked with the ISP to see if they are blocking the IP address on the SMTP server. They said they were not.
I have a personal account on the same server and tried to send email to another local email account, and it did not work either. Tried to send email to my clients email and they did not recieve anything.
I am on the same ISP as my client, so Im still not sure if its the ISP or not.

Oct 17, 2007batch edit of the name servers in every DNS Zone for every domain on one of my cPanel/WHM boxes. Rather than using WHM to manually modify the NS entries, I would like to find a way to do a batch or mass edit.
I simply need to change all instances of NS1 to NS3 and NS2 to NS4.
I was told a simple one line sed script should do the trick on /var/named but alas, I am woefully incapable of writing such a script.
Does anyone have any ideas? With over 200 domains on this box I'd hate to think this will have to be done manually.

I'm monitoring the query process from Phpmyadmin>Status and I notice that after some minutes the number of queries decreases from ~900 to ~30, that means that the script is stopped! Then I check the error_log and infact there's this error:

Preventing Users From Connecting To Other Users Database
Mar 25, 2009On my server, users can connect to any database as long as they have the database user and password. This makes it easier to hack any database on the server.
What I want to do is to make the users can only connect to their own databases and not other's.
I tried changing the localhost ip address but it didn't work ( I assume I didn't do it the right way)

but if you make url as this

it will work right
the problem is now I have more than 40 K of page on google indexed with "/" so and google will remove it cuz all page it now redirect you to archive/index.php not to threade
I open ticket and they tell me vbulletin not have any thing to do to fix it it must doing from server

May 18, 2008I run multiple domains/sites on my linux server. I know there is a php.ini files that comes with the php installation package. But I have heard that there is a way to create a local php.ini file for each domain.
Does anyone knows how to create local php.ini files for each domain. Is there a special setting i need to do to make it run?

Jan 29, 2007in my rc.local i've got it so a program starts up automatically, this works when i restart my machine but the machine has also been crashing randomly (something which i haven't tracked down the source of yet) and when it goes up after this the program isn't started. Could this relate to my crashing problem or would it be something else that isn't configured right?

Every time eth1 is on, eth0 cannot be reached by ssh and http, although still can be pinged. Eth1 is also IPMI BMC port, and automatically got IP from DHCP LAN for web-based IPMI access, and the IPMI cannot be turned off. Motherboard is Tyan B7002.

Jul 26, 2008have only done static html sites in the past, but am ready to branch out and learn php and mysql. I have watched numerous video tutorials on php,mysql, dreamweaver cs3, and how they all work together.
I have followed all the steps on the tutorials and the website works great on my local testing server, but how in the world do I get it to work live on the internet! This is probably a very stupid question but I am at the point of not caring about looking stupid. I just want to know what Im missing/ doing wrong. The website is hosted with GoDaddy, (and the domain is registered with them as well).Am I supposed to have something set up there or a different server? I have tried using ftp to transfer all files over to the domain but when I visit the domain, the php pages do not work.
