Does this mean the .htacess file is not there?

Opening Up Local Access
Jun 6, 2008I have a script running on my server that has access via port 1031, but I would like to block access to it from the public, and instead allow access only through a php proxy script on my server which will connect to port 1031 via 127.0.0.1 (i.e. 127.0.0.1:1031)
So some may be thinking why? Currently users gain access by heading to mydomain.com:1031 . However I would now like to include adverts along side the script (but can't physically make adjustments to the script as the company that made the script has vanished of earth)
So the only way I can think of doing this, is by having the adverts in an Frame next to the proxy script.
So does opening up access via 127.0.0.1 just for this case, give me security problems?

Oct 8, 2012I was trying to set up archive-my-tweets [URL] .... and I seem to have gotten stuck with a 403 error. When I remove the .htaccess file the 403 goes away but so do the rewrite rules so that's a problem.
You'll see the contained .htaccess file that's included in the project.
Basically for now I'm just trying to run this on my mac. I have set up the files in a subdirectory of my personal web server. The personal web server is working fine--but when I go to the /tweets directory I get the 403.

Plesk 12.x / Linux :: Error Opening Panel After Upgrade To 12.0.18
Jun 17, 2014I have a V-Server account with Strato and just upgraded to 12.0.18 through the panel updater. The installation completed successfully, at least the installer gave me no error.
After the installation I tried to login and got the following error (I wasn't able to enter my credentials..):
I tried to repair permissions with:

Which worked and I could now login. The Panel opened with the following error:
I can access certain areas of the panel without error (i.e. tools and settings etc, but I get the error when I try to access the control panel for single domains etc...)

Jun 6, 2007I've been using a Fedora Core 6 box to develop my site with PHP and MySQL. The web directory is /var/www/html.
I just recently bought my first hosting plan, and it says to upload my site to the Htdocs folder.
Is this a BSD server? I know nothing about BSD, and I'm worried, because I don't know if my site is going to need to be re-written. You see, some of my files, like the db connection script, are in /var/www/myfoldername ... Is there an equivalent on my new rented server, where I can put these files?
How about my databases? When I run the installer I wrote to create them, it just creates them, and FC6 has been doing what it will with them to get them working. Am I going to have issues connecting, because they're stored in a different dir?

This redirect works fine on Apache 2.2.8, but doesn't work on Apache 1.3.41
The following is the entry from error_log:

A simple Rewrite is working fine in Apache 1.3, but the above regualar expression doesn't seem to be working on Apache 1.3. Does anyone know whether Apache 1.3 doesn't support it?

May 7, 2007Today I have a customer want to swich the register_globals on on his account ,,, i'm running PHPSuExec and running php as cgi not as Apache module , and as you know using php as cgi will cause internal error 500 if some one add php_flag register_globals on
to .htaccess file.
what is the soluation to switch register_globals on for his account only without using the .htaccess file.
put in mind the php files that need the register_globals to be on is encrypted with zend , so we does not have access to it for modification.

Oct 21, 2009I Have Kloxo Runing in my Server , and i use Apache for handling php , and htaccess .
From kloxo Panel under Extra , Error Handling .
I made editing to where visitor will be taken when come to page not found , banned , ..etc
The error 404 , 403,500
But won't work , it just take User to the Apache Test page instaed takes him to the Page i spicifed..
So i edited htaccess like ErrorDocument 403 forbid.php to try redierct the users to the error pages but got same reslut instaed takes them to the apache test page .
I tried install Plesk and Try . But seems the Same thing , when user comes to not found page , or forbidden page he will be directed to Apache test page.
Apache :: Local Server Works Once And Then Won't Again
Oct 3, 2013I found a socket available other than 80 which would not allow me to use. I set it in the conf file as 1800 and then go to apache/bin directory and load httpd.exe. When I go to the browser, I have to type in http://localhost:1800 for it to work once. If I close the browser and try again, or I try a php file, it says it can't find localhost. I have to stop httpd.exe and reload, then it will work once.
Do I have to find a way to use socket 80 for it to work?

I am trying to get Google to verify that I am the owner of this site (so I can use their Webmaster tools), and I have placed a page with a name they specified, in the site. Their verification fails, because, 'We've detected that your 404 file (file not found) error page returns a status of 200 (Success) in the header.' They need a status of 404 in the header of 404 pages. Note: Google does a HEAD request (not a GET request).
Also, I have noticed in the Webalizer statistics, there are no 404 codes listed with the other response codes! I know the Custom 404 page is getting a lot of hits, but, they are not shown in the statistics, because the wrong code is being sent.
The web site is small and the Custom Error page is with the other pages. I'm using MS FrontPage 2000.
Question: What do I need to change that line to, to get this to work properly, for Google and for my Webalizer statistics? Apache/1.3.27 (Unix)

Apache :: ProxyPass 503 Errors With Local Host
Feb 28, 2013It seems with the latest version of 2.2.24 I've had to change the ProxyPass address in http-virtualhosts to the actual address of the web server itself (Websphere / tomcat) and not the reversproxy (Apache). It seems like originally we had it looking like this more or less: ProxyPass / ajp://localhost:8009 but now have ProxyPass / ajp://webserverip:8009 and it's working that way. Which way is correct and if this isn't the correct way how do I fix this? I was getting 503 errors when it was connected to localhost (along with ajp errors) but I was able to telnet to the webserver on 8009 successfully.

Set Apache Handler Through .htaccess - Possible?
Jun 2, 2007I am running into a bit of a problem. Previously, I can add an apache handler through cPanel easily... but now I moved to mediatemplate.net and that feature isn't available on their contol panel. Since they also run apache, I figured that I can set the apache handler manually through an .htaccess file - is that possible? If so, what is the syntax that will enable me to set .html files to be handled like .php files?
There is one setback to this process - this will be a manually inserted file for every directory that I want to do the above stated file handler. Is there an easier way to do this via SSH? I don't have root access, only normal user access.
