I have tried copy files from Linux server to Windows Server using WinSCP3 and it was so fast.
I am not sure who to copy files as well from Windows to Windows with same speed. I tried to use RDC between the Windows Servers and share one drive. But it wasn't fast as WinSCP3.
I rent windows dedicated server for just about a month, but I never had problem.
When I copy files on my home computer and then paste them onto server's drive, files begin copying, but after some time they stop copying and I hear double beep sound.
Time after which they stop copying is random.
How do I copy all files and directories recursively to another folder?
I did:
cp --preserve -r /sourcefolder/* /destinationfolder/
However, it missed the dot files
I have about 1.80GB of flash games and I want to copy this flash games to another server, I only want to copy the flash games not the entire account.
FYI I have shell access on both server.

I have vps server with win server 2008 and Plesk 11.5.30. when i am trying to copy Mssql Database trough the panel i have an error: " Unable to copy database ". In the %plesk_dir%adminlogs under the php-error.log i have this error:

We also made some automated migration of few domains/sites using Web Host Manager's Copy an account from another server feature.
All the files and other settings were properly transferred from old server to new server, but only the mysql database is not visible on new server. I am unsure if the same got copied to new server.
i use Adaptec 2200s with three scsi HD to do raid,
it is install centos with cpanel.
after rebooting,it can not load into the raid5 well,
and shows no logical drivers... and no operation system found.
i try to add new hd,but it still do not build and run.
i think it may the raid5 configuation on the three HDs are missing are ger problem or it will not work at all.
i want to ask,if a use another three hds with the Adaptec 2200s to set another raid5.
and build another one server.
and i mount the old first one HD from the old raid5 and mount the new first one HD from the new raid5,
and copy the files from old ones to the new ones.

At work, we have a windows 2003 server.
We have a set of files that get modified from day to day.
Since they know I own a dedicated server (Linux) they ask me if it would be possible to have an offsite backup on my server of the set of files on the windows 2003 server.
Also, I dont want to have the whole files set to be uploaded everyday.
I am aware of rsync on *nix system, but do you have any suggestions on how to proceed with a windows 2003 server to a unix server?
I have a scheduled backup set on my panel, to backup all server configuration and content, and is set to run every week. I also set to keep only 1 backup on repository, but this config doesn't seem to work! My hard drive is getting full all the time, and when I check that its because theres a lot of old backups stored that are not getting removed!
My question is: the backup script removes the old files only at the end or it does it while backing up? If the action of removal happens only at the end of the script, i think it would explain why it isn't working: my hard drive gets full before, and the script drops an error, and never get to the end of it and it doesn't remove the old backups.

Now what I want to do is restore 11 files from the backup. What I certainly don't want to do is restore the entire domain as I don't want to loose any changes since the last backup.
As it seems impossible to extract files from the archives.
I am not hosting any domains on this, only using it via remote desktop connection. I need at least 1GB of ram, 1mbps connection minimum.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWe have a Windows 2003 Enterprise server with 6GB of RAM and about 20 terminal services users logging in. These users then launch a program called Accuthin Thin Client giving them access to a piece of software called Southware that runs on a Centos 5 Linux server on the same network.
Problem seems to be that saving files to the network share causes windows to blue screen and crash. Has anyone ever heard of this before? I know it is a shot in the dark but we have been investigating this issue for 4 months, have replaced the Windows server 5 times, increased RAM to 8 GB and installed Enterprise edition clean but the issue follow no matter what we do.
Does anybody know how I can force RSYNC to backup open files on Windows 2003 Standard and Vista Ultimate?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI had a Problem with my FTP-Backup space, so PLESK couldn't do the daily backups that I configured. The problem with the ftp backup is solved. The backups are running again but there are still many large temporary files in a plesk folder.
Can I just delete them, or is this a bad idea?

Migrating existing IIS websites into Plesk we are creating new clean websites and then copying the existing code across into the httpdocs directory.
Should we leave all the documents and file structures created by Plesk in place when we do this OR should we delete everything in the httpdocs directory and copy our code into here?
I just recently created a new server with windows 2012 R2 server and need to move the mail and backups to another drive.
I have tried to run the Plesk reconfigurator as an Administrator and it comes up with the following error message see attached screenshot
If users copy files/folders on Plesk Panel 11/12 with attribute "read-only", I don't see this attribute on File Manager, every time do next "attrib -r <path to file/folder".
Maybe you can improve functionality of "File Manager" on Plesk Panel 12?
