i find some company rent dedicated server to offer download server,
the package of month bandwidth is 1TB,and month fee is about $8,
for a stand server with $120 permonth,
it can only run 15 accounts,
and it will need 15TB per month to use,
i wonder where to buy so cheaper dedicated server can offer 15TB with $120 month fee,
and what hardware to run 15TB but only $120 per month?
When a company offers you 1000gb bandwidth,
Is that for upload or download or maybe both?
which case is more preferred: a shared web hosting service with unlimited space/bandwidth, or a dedicated one with limited space/bandwidth?

We are coming from managed servers at Rackspace and are used to a pretty awesome support level. While reliability and uptime are the most important to us we also need a great service level.
Anyone have any recommendations on any Colo's that provide that sort of premium bandwidth, data center and service but also does half-racks?
What kind of spec would I need for serving direct/hotlinking 100mb+ files? I've looked all over the place but couldn't find anything.

i want to use centos and cpanel to build a server, i will create hundreds account on it, all the accounts will put only pictures or little html files, no php or mysql or mail service on it. the bandwidth of the server may be about 20M ~ 30M all the time, how could i build a economical and stable server to run this? about the hardware, intel e2160 with 8G ram and sata hd, is it enough? or should i need to add which part to get better?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI run a large service on 2 machines (we're talking 8x2.66Ghz processing power, 4-6GB ram, etc), however we are thinking about creating a node/clustered setup to help spread the load, bandwidth, mysql (having one server for hundreds of thousands of databases is not wise it seems :p), diskspace etc. Lots of machines just seems to be a cheaper and more powerful option.
Would you advise going with lots of lower end machines, or just a few mid-range machines.

I have a Server with Centos7 + Plesk 12 and in the service configuration say that the Bind service is not installed, from command line i have install named services and make a manual configuration the first domain, but when I return to the service page in plesk... the problem is the same, the Bind Service is not installed; then the problem is when i want create a new hosting i need to go to the ssh to make the DNS configuration...

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy site is hosted on eUKhost, and there are some users who get an incomplete download of an msi-file (about 12 MB in size) hosted on my website. They don't get an error in their browser, it's just like they have a complete download.
The incomplete file users download is usually about 2.7 MB big. When they re-download the file afterwards, they never seem to have the problem again.
It seems to happen completely at random and I haven't got a clue what the reason could be.
Is there a free site out there that lets users download files directly... ie there is no submission forms or download verifications?

..to my pc desktop, using putty / ssh.
A user from USA clicks www.domain.com/video/vid.flv and they go to the USA server to download.
A user from Europe clicks the same link and they go to Netherlands server.
A user from Asia clicks the same link and they go to Hong Kong.
How can I configure Lighttpd to point *.flv to a specific server based on location. I don't want the www.domain.com to change, I would like it to always show www.domain.com but point to different countries depending on where the person is located.
I want this for *.flv only
I have just performed a ftp backup of my entire server. I then zipped it up in Cpanel.
The file size its self it 3322megs big (about 3.3gb). If i press it to download it says:
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /backup/sepmid07/sepmid07.zip on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I have made sure that i have the right permissions, I have also made sure that it belongs to the correct user. Also next to it where it would say how big it is, it says "-"
