I have a client who has 3 to 4 websites. His websites are database driven mysql. When we transfered to a new server everything works. Then he requested a iconv and GD installations. Then it was installed. Now all of his sites is impossibly to view but its up. The rest of the clients are doing just fine. What do you think is the problem? we recompiled php several times already same thing.
In the last few days the responses from Plesk's XML API have been extremely slow. It's now taking an average of 45 seconds to handle an XML API request where it used to be more around 5 seconds. What would cause that? What service handles these requests on the server so I can try rebooting it?
My customers are complaining that my web site is extremely slow in China. But I have never received any complain from outside China (I have talked to non-China users).
What could be the reason behind this? Or how can I find the root cause?
I have a website that I recently moved to a dedicated server. Before hand I had the website hosted with 2 other hosting companies (not dedicated).
I decided to go to a dedicated server because the website ran extremely slow or even went down due to traffic.
With the dedicated server I am having the same problem with the same amount of visitors online. This usually occurs with aprox 250 members online.
I know nothing about servers and have no idea how to cure this problem or if possibly it could be a setting in the server. However this is killing my website because new people are unable to register because of site coming down from traffic.
I seem to be having a problem with slow loading. When I type in a couple of domain names on my browser, I noticed that it will take 2 seconds, before the site will start to load.
On my status bar, it would show "Looking for www.domain.com" during that 2 seconds.
It seems like the DNS is taking a long time to find my IP?
a DNSstuff.com's tools report, shows my DNS as pretty healthy.
For about the last two weeks I've had issues connecting with the website that I help run www.learnoutloud.com from my home connection which is Time Warner Cable Internet connection in Los Angeles. I'm on a Dell laptop Inspiron 6000 running Windows XP. I'm always able to connect to the site but what's happening is the page will get hung up on loading a single image usually and then it will take about a minute just to load that last image. And sometimes the page won't load at all, but all it takes usually is hitting the refresh button and the page loads instantly. I was hoping this issue would just go away, but it's been persistent after numerous restarts of our cable modem and switching from wireless to plugged in and so forth. And it's really only happening for our site and no others, which is just puzzling.
At our office on our DSL connection our site loads fine and we haven't had any customer complaints about the site loading slow like this. Our traffic numbers have stayed steady so I don't think it's a global problem connecting with our site. At home I conduct a trace route and it looks good:

Does anyone know what the heck is going on and how I can fix this?
i am trying to optimize my dedicated server to host one website (php-nuke platnuam 7.6v2b5 taking 1min to 1min 30secs to load). ive read the tutorials and it does not seem to make a difference no matter what i try. if one of you guys could kindly point out what could possibly be the problem i would be very greatful.

I have a VPS over at futurehosting, and I'm having some issues with my PHP/MySQL sites loading slowly after a few days of uptime. A restart of the various services (apache/mysql) fixes the issue, but I'd like the issue to not start in the first place.
I know very little of server administration (I'm still learning) so just let me know what info you need to see to do the troubleshooting and I'll get it to you.
Today, without any change on the server side my single running website on my server started running low. After checking the running processes I realised I have these 8 processes running with high cpu load something that didn't had before.

I've been having trouble with my VPS for a while now. In the QoS alerts page in Virtuozzo it seems to be a problem with numtcpsock and tcprcvbuf, mainly numtcpsock.
Copy these into the browser: i18.photobucket.com/albums/b106/gnatfish/qosnumtcpsock2.jpg
I've got 25 domains on a Virtuozzo/Plesk8.6/CentOS5 VPS. Each domain has one up-to-date install of WordPress, most have very little traffic (average 200mb per month), maybe 2 domains get 5-7gb traffic per month.
I monitor port 80 connections and rarely see more than 10 at a time. That should in my opinion be no problem at all for a VPS with 768mb guaranteed ram and 2.4ghz cpu. I've got 30gb hard drive spare too.
But.... about 8 or 10 times a day it grinds to a complete halt: server load at 500-1000%, sites timing out, plesk takes 3mins to load, often I can't even connect with SSH, and the plesk web server, apache
80 seconds sounds like a huge amount of time for a MySQL insert to me! Does anyone know if this is likely to be the cause of my trouble? Some problem with Plesk and the database? Or could it be something else?
how to fix the issue of subdomain suddenly not working. I check httpd conf the entries were there. I did run /scripts/rebuildhttpdconf but still not working. I also roce update cpanel still not workin
I have 5 servers spread out in different locations running Fedora Core, Webmin, and OpenVPN.
My most recent one I signed up with on here and for 2 weeks I have been doing various things to speed it up such as remove ipv6, change the dns servers, etc. and rebooting after making such changes.
Things were working properly and the server was rebooted last about 3 days ago after installing OpenVPN and Webmin. Yesterday afternoon the server suddenly stopped responding and dropped its VPN connections. I created a ticket with my hosts support center and they told me that the network module was uninstalled.
Is this possible? I have NEVER heard of any software uninstalling a network module and even more so suddenly stopping the service to uninstall it without a reboot?
Did my host just try to screw me to get a reimage fee on their cheap server?
first month the server well adn take backup with out any problem to ma accounts then the disk space usage ( accounts + daily backups + weekly backups ) = 56 %
now from 2 weeks my server has not take any backup why?
i've buy a domain name form a hosting company and host it at another company...
everything is fine at first...
however something weird happened when i have accidently agreed on some suggestion during ftp upload (i can't remember what is suggested while upload, i suppose to click NO but...). then my site turn to the cPanel page.
when i try check at the domain name server, the setting is correct.
however, the addon domain in the hosting company is disappeared. all the files are still in the directory, but the domain is no more appear under the added on domain list.
I tried to add the domain again, however it shows "Error from park wrapper:..." i've also checked the park domain, my domain is not in the list too...
i have a VPS on which i host one of my Proxy site and nothing else (no databases, no emails, just the usual proxy files needed).
just today it stopped working it is showing the Centos Page .the URL is [url]
here are the steps that i have taken till now without success: 1. restarted the server 2. stopped and restarted some critical services like httpd etc. 3. restarted my free crappy control panel also Ravencore
but all without success
if u feel that u can help me out then can tell u my webmin root password also via PM (u must be a reputed member).
My Webhost suddenly does not allow php contact forms! Instead, they expect me to change all forms on 16 sites hosted by them to use a phpFormMail solution they provide. It's a real hassle.
I've got something very strange going on....This is a CentOS server running Plesk (32 bit)...I've got clientexec installed and it has been running perfectly fine for a long time now. Today, in the middle of invoicing some clients, I got the zend optimizer not loaded page...which is weird, since i know it is loaded. Nevertheless, I downloaded the source again and reinstalled Zend and the page is still showing up. Could an automatic plesk update have caused this? (I'm not too familiar with what files are updated and whatnot when control panels are updated)
I really need to figure out what's going on here. I can get you any information you need. Are there supposed to be additional lines in the php.ini relating to the optimizer? Because I opened VI and searched for optimizer and nothing came up.......
DNS lookups against domains on my server are suddenly failing. The /etc/resolv.conf shows 3 entries for uplink DNS servers at my provider (theplanet). Bind is running, too.
What else could cause this? All sites are accessible via IP, but not by name anymore.
I have a server that I access through remote desktop. Suddenly I am getting the message "Remote Desktop Disconnected: The computer can't connect to the remote computer." when using Remote Desktop.
It was working a few minutes ago.
A while ago I suspected that someone knew the password for the box. I did change it at the time, and thought the issue was solved. Is it possible to turn off remote desktop remotely (whilst using remote desktop).
Power cycling the server isn't making any difference.
Any other options other than putting in a support request at the host?
