I want to start with and talk to my English in terms of writing leaves a lot to be desired It is okay for me to read English, unfortunately, it is with the writing.
I have thought about this, whether it is ethically correct to do so. Weighted people's right to privacy, even if we committed crimes. That people should have the right to a second chance, I think that in most cases can agree with. Although it receives in terms of certain crimes.
However, the purpose of the site which is a national site, I thought myself in the country I'm living in is that when pedophiles who expose children to abuse again and again, and the media with his integritetssyn, protects all that often these individuals.
I'm actually a pretty healthy person, with which I see the good perception of people.
But I have been weighted to say, one against the other, and found that if I only once can help to protect a child being abused, so it would be fantastic.
Nevertheless, as pedophiles are able to access images that are vile, that means also an opportunity for ordinary citizens to spread knowledge about people with repeated relapses of sexual abuse.
What I had in mind is to collect judgments, which are public documents and publish them on the site. Without any judgmental. When it's repeated abuse of children has been made on several occasions, so I think it has exhausted his right to privacy.
The problem is that in many countries there are laws against that personal information not be disseminated. To my surprise, if you know any country where it is allowed, and even where there is a hosting company that can be permitted to publish these judgments?
regarding my computers IP. When you restart your computer, some say your IP changes everytime, but the first two blocks of your IP stay the same no matter how many times you restart your computer.
For example: You turn your computer on, and you see your IP is: 64.343.87.39
Then,
You turn your computer off, and turn it back on, and since your first two blocks do not change your IP will keep the "64.343" , so example would be:
64.343.98.643 = new IP (same first two blocks though)
My question is, is this true on how IP's work?
Secondly, if you wanted to allow WHM to only allow certain IP's to access it, could you somehow setup a range since your IP's change every time you turn off yoru computer like: All IP's that start with " 64.343 " can enter the server?
First thing I would like to clear off I DO NOT WANT TO MAKE VPS FOR PROFITS/BUSINESS. I need to make VPS because me and my friend have bought this server
[url]
I want to make VPS because my friend like to use Ubuntu desktop and I like to use CentOS from the OVH website they pretty much give you the basics to make VPSes so I have chosen virtuozzo
So my enquiry is
1. Can I have Ubuntu desktop and CentOS on it at the same time
2. How easy is it to create VPSes using virtuozzo since I need a GUI and ease of use
3. Also if I want can I change from CentOS to forexample Ubuntu desktop too
4. Also does anyone know and good tutorials
My main use of creating different VPS with different OS on them so I can learn there language and other stuff
I am looking to set up a personal game server for me and my clan, initially one or two game servers running and we will go from there but for now I don't even know what the specs for one TF2 server would be acceptable.
I will be hoping to run a 32 person TF2 server and a 48 COD4 server(if possible)
I have done some searching but for 1.50 a slot and some companies not even offering 32 person TF2 - I could very well manage it myself. My problem is I don't know what hardware I would need.
i have about a dozen personal sites for my different hobbies, what have you...and i was trying to find a host for them that will allow me to use Gmail for the domains but to host the sites.
bandwidth isn't that big of an issue but hd size is.
i know about 1and1 and godaddy and see how hostgator gets lots of referrals as well.
my problem is that i need a hosting company that has..ha! a small number of spammers that have taken refuge on them.
the company that i had been hosting these with has had too many problems with spammers and getting domains on the shared server blocked. their support has gone to the dogs and well...i just don't feel like paying them for another month of service.
Does any reliable hosting company that offers hundreds of gigs space allow "personal backups", ie. non-web content? I've been looking at ToS of some big names but most if not all don't allow this.
It would be only 1-2 gigs, so I might get away with it anyway on most hosts, but would like to avoid problems in the future. Dreamhost offers both SVN and rsync, which I'd like a lot, but they clearly forbid such use.
And, I do have an external hard drive and very important files are also on DVD and memory stick, but since I need to purchase webhosting I'm looking at this extra option too.
I choose to try one of their VPS servers and found them pretty stable even did a crash test with a Enterprise Grade Content Management System and well passed with min requirements. Over all their support is good and fast and overall friendly Brian and Dave helped with any issues i had along with Gary. Their network doesn't even slow down either if that counts.

I purchased two SSL certificates from HostGator a few months ago for each of my sites. I realized that when I go to my website and click the "lock icon" at the bottom right of the screen, my personal identity is revealed. In Internet Explorer, I click the "Details" Tab then go down to Subject field. It has my Street, City, State, and Zip Code. Of course, I don't want my personal mailing address listed there and I never authorize Hostgator to put this information on my SSL Certificate.
I've speaken to a few HostGator customer service reps and they all say different things. I spent 40 minutes on the phone with an incompetent employee who ended up opening a support ticket with improper grammar and incorrect things I told him on the phone. I've gotten really frustrated. One said they cannot remove that information on my SSL certificate. Then another said they can reissue the SSL certificates without revealing my mailing address for $25. I never even wanted them to put this information on there in the first place and now they want to charge me. Now another one says that what is displayed on your WHOIS information on your domain will be displayed on the SSL certificate. And since my registration is private through godaddy, that I would have to make it public whois then change it back to private so Comodo can verify my identity. I'm lost in translation here with everything they are saying at HostGator. My question is, what do I tell Hostgator? What are my rights? Why are they charging me for a simple task? It's to the point where I want to somehow get some kind of information about my SSL certificate so I can call Comodo directly to resolve this issue rather than going through their reseller, HostGator.
It's gotten to a point where I want to just call up Comodo and buy SSL through them directly so that it would not reveal my personal mailing address on my SSL certificate. To hell with Hostgator, unless you guys can provide some good things to tell them on the phone.
where I can get a business or personal web packages, email packages or domain registration at one place with smart utilities. Hosting Company must be in local Middle East countries.

This is my first attempt at using a web hosting company. I currently use a free service from my ISP that gives me 25 MB of space for a personal web site. After only a few weeks, I have exceeded that limit and now find myself needing much more.
My personal website will contain information of a bowling league that my friends and I belong to. I plan to have many pages of data from an Excel spreadsheet included, either in a database format, or just plain html. I also plan to have several family photos and some video on my web site. I will be adding pages on a weekly basis.
I did some research and I felt I needed something like 25G of storage for all my pages containing tables and photos. Since I am not using it for business purposes, I am looking for something very basic, if that is possible.
If anyone knows a decent host that can accomodate my needs, which is simple, but requiring a lot of space, please share your recommendations. My budget is between $5 to $10 per month.
Does anybody have an expensive ($300+) dedicated box for a personal site which does not make them any money. Also, why would you spend soo much on something that gives you no return?
I wonder if someone know from where I can get a business or personal web packages, email packages or domain registration at one place with smart utilities. Hosting Company must be in local Middle East countries.
After starting back up in plesk 11.5 I get this error after some time...
Code:
Runtime error: Export dump to FTP failed at /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/plesk_agent_manager line 727. at /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/plesk_agent_manager line 727 main::perform('verbose', 4, 'owner-type', 'server', 'split-size', undef, 'session-path', '/usr/local/psa/PMM/sessions/2014-06-27-025357.825', 'description', ...) called at /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/plesk_agent_manager line 1319
[Code] ....
The backup was stored in Server Repository and was also uploaded to ftp....
Backup file size in server repository : 169 MB In personal repository showed in plesk :169 MB File size shown in FTP in backup server : 169.08MB
I want to restore a database from my repository. In the backup manager (root) I have Server repository & Personal FTP Repository. The personal repository I set to backup every day. The server repository I don't know where to set the backup option. There seems to be some random backups every 2 weeks or so.
In the personal ftp repository I have the backups of the last 7 days as tar files. When I want to radio button "Selected objects" it can not me highlighted. I am on plesk 12.0.18. (I ticked "Restore this backup despite the fact that it does not have a valid signature")In the server depository the files are .xml and there I can select what to restore but the backups are not current. I need the database from yesterday. How can I make my personal backups selectable?
The Problem: I'm trying to set up an automatic backup to an ftp server using ftps (as configured in the personal ftp repository). Copying the files fails however.
The things I checked: The Plesk management website can't show the target folder's contents. The only error I get is Error-Code "1". The ftp server (a synology NAS) logs the ftp access: Credentials are correct, session is terminated after transferring 0 Bytes. Each failed backup leaves a 0-Byte .tar file on the Backup folder. If I disable ftps and go with plain ftp, everything works just fine.
Our previous generation Plesks (v11 and lower) can utilize ftps for backup (to the same ftp server) without a hitch.
Additional considerations: Since the WebServer is on a hosted machine and file transfer has to be done across the internet, unsecured transport is not an option.
"Transport error: unable to list directory: Curl error: Couldn't connect to server".
This happens when I enter ftp settings for the Personal FTP Repository. I'm sure the ftp server is fine. I have it already set on other domains. It connects backs-up just fine.
I've noticed two things when connecting to the FTP server it automatically issues PASV and does nothing else. It also connects using the secondary ip which I guessing it should. Micro Update 5 is installed.
I have 2 identical servers: I'm trying to do backups from server1 to server2 and from server2 to server1.
In every server I setup a subscription just for storing backups.
If I configure Personal FTP Repository from server1 to server1 - the same server - it works (it gives a warning: backup on the same server is not safe).
If I try to configure Personal FTP Repository from server1 to server2 and vice versa, it gives me the following error:
Transport error: unable to list directory: Curl error: FTP: couldn't retrieve (RETR failed) the specified file
If I try to give a different password, it tells that the password is wrong: this means that server1 is able to connect to server2 and the ports are well configured (I hope).
If I connect in active mode from my PC with Filezilla to server1 or server2, same username and password, it works!
I'm not able to configure Personal FTP Repository and to backup to another server.
Current Version Installed :Parallels Plesk Panel 11.5.30 Update #31 Problem: When username have @ like : myuser@mydomain.com
Steps : When configure the setting all go right (test to validate setting is ok too) , but when Scheduled Backup Settings using Personal FTP Repository cannot connect for server because the url use 2 @ like error message below.
Error Message : Cannot parse output file 'ftp://bk@mydomain.com@mydomain.com/' [Invalid URI: Can not parse the hostname.]
I'm using Plesk 12.0.18 on a virtual container powered by Parallels Virtuozzo Containers, and I cannot get the FTP (personal repository) working. In my settings, I've unchecked Passive mode (as the VPS is configured with the Virtuozzo firewall) yet Plesk still seems to test the connection with passive mode, which I know will fail. However active FTP on the command-line works fine.
Saving the repository fails with (after a hang): Transport error: unable to list directory: Curl error: Couldn't connect to server If the "directory" doesn't exist on the FTP server it fails immediately, so the connection is working, and it seems to be on the "dir/ls" command that it fails - which is a symptom it's using Passive mode.
According to the Panel log file, Plesk issues the below command:
Note the "--use-ftp-passive-mode" even though "passive mode" is UNCHECKED in the UI.
From a terminal:
# ftp ftp.hidrive.strato.com Connected to ftp.hidrive.strato.com (85.214.3.73). 220 Another visitor. Stay a while... Name (ftp.hidrive.strato.com:root): xxx 331 FTP login okay, send password. Password: 230 User logged in, proceed.
When I try to reset the Personal FTP Repository setting in Backup Manager, I get "Transport error: unable to list directory: Curl error: Failure when receiving data from the peer"
I've read a solution to this issue for Plesk for Linux, but not for Windows. I have my FTP server setup for FTPS (require explicit FTP over TLS) and when I put the correct information in each box, I get this error. In the meantime, the current settings (for standard FTP) are incorrect.
Obviously the most important this is to correct the Transport and Curl errors, but if I'm unable to do so, how do you clear the current setting? There doesn't seem to be a way to do it...
If I go into the Backup Manager, then click the "Personal FTP Repository", then click "Personal FTP Repository Settings", at the bottom it asks for a password and says how important it is to use a password.
So, I specify a password, then successfully do a backup to a remote FTP site.
But when I examine the backup.zip file at the remote FTP site, it a plain ZIP file that you can open without any password!!!
How is this secure, what's the point of asking us to specify a password when it's not used to password lock the backed up ZIP file?
I am leaving waveform.net and am currently looking for a 1u colo around Boston.
The server is for email and a few personal websites. I don't have the exact bandwidth requirement because 1. no actual bandwidth usage was stated in my monthly invoice, and 2. my server is down right now, so I can't extract any bandwidth data from it. My guesstimate is less than 50GB per month. I should have a better estimate when I get the server back from them. May be I should post this after that but I would like to give myself a head start in checking out the possibilities. (Server has been down for 2 weeks now and I really want it back up a.s.a.p)
The requirements are very simple:
1. Around Boston (or within reasonable driving distance).
2. Easy access to the server (need not be 24/7, only need to do this if there is hardware issue).
3. If possible, serial console access.
4. And (of course) reasonable pricing.
Currently, I am inclined towards netriplex, but am open to other suggestions.
For this kind of "small fly" colo, is it advisible to give quotecolo a try?
