Is there a way to run an additional task after the scheduled backup has completed?I want to copy the backup off-site. I can't use FTP, otherwise I'd use the built-in 'Personal FTP Repository' feature. (See Rsync, Amazon S3, Rackspace cloud files, etc)
I could just create a new scheduled task, but the backup takes an unpredictable amount of time, and the tasks need to run sequentially. Also, the 2nd task should only run if the backup succeeds.
I could disable the backups in the control panel and create a new scheduled task that does both the backup and the additional task. But then the functionality of the control panel's Backup Manager page is lost.
I recently updated from 11.5 to 12. After the update, my simple "Websites & Domains->Scheduled Tasks" is no longer executing.
I verified that the task is still present in Plesk and enabled.
The simple task launches one of my PHP web pages to perform an action:
(set to once a day: Min=30, H=7, DM=*, M=*, DW=*)
wget --quiet --delete-after "http://www.MYWEBSITE.com/some/path/index.php?someparam=somevalue"
This cron job had been working fine for more than a year but stopped working after the update.
I'm running: 12.0.18 Update #29
I'm having troubles getting the global scheduled backup task to work at Home > Tools & Settings >Backup Manager > Server Repository.
At a subscription the scheduled backup works how it should.
Home > Subscriptions > example.com > Websites & Domains > Server Repository
The problem is as follows: When I set the scheduled task at a specific time example 00:00 it does not run at all. But when I just do "Create a backup" it does work...
I've done [URL] .... and everything in here is configured how it should be.
This is my configuration for scheduled task:
Cronjob is placed in : /etc/cron.d/plesk-backup-manager-task
Also did run: rpm -q --scripts psa-backup-manager | sed 1d | sh
This problem is only in the global backup configuration.
I'm problem with crone sender email. I changed the version of the panel from 11.5 to 12. After start the corne and sehedule task in one of users I recived email. The crone task starts from email.
For this example, I replaced the user name in Plesk Panel, which is assigned cron jobs on “support”.
This is the mail system at host servername.domainname.

I have a daily task scheduled to run a .bat file which basically runs a query and sends some email reports. My coding is in PHP. The bat file and script works fine when run manually however when I set it up to run in the task scheduler it says it runs but it does not.
The result returns this code (0xFF).
Does anyone know how to get this running successfully?
Recently Rackspace experienced an outage caused by their generators. I would not open this if its wasnt because in the last 10 years everytime there is a power outage on a DC the generators failed. (this is not a rackspace post, i just took 1 of 100 examples)
I dont want to mention names but I have seen plenty of DCs on which generators fail when the task is loaded to them. Some people said its because the maintaince is expensive and they dont do it on time.
Thats not always the case as I have seen DCs which made their maintainces on shape and time and they also had problems.
Now my question is if putting up generators costs so much money and we see them fail over and over again, are they up the task and worth the investment?
We know network only needs a short time without power and all is lost. This topic is ratter an approach on how to best handle power loads. Im sure there must be some way to actually be sure that when power FAILS, generators will keep up the task. The most sure testing would be to actually shift load to the generators every some months to test them but that would be plain Crazy on a production datacenter. I see that most outages have always the same guilty gear, generators...
Lets take another example, Gmail recently failed big time, because some Google DCs dont have chillers to keep the DC from getting hot (New Europe DC) for example. On hot days they shift the load to other DCs and turn the DC off. That of course failed too on a real scenario. Now Google is not a standard DC, but if they keep such a risky scenario in place they must have a sure way that power will keep up when the load is shifted and there is a big peak.
Will there be a better solution in the next 10 years for power or are we going to keep hoping generators dont fail exactly when we need them the most. Maybe we all should have UPS (plenty)on a rack to keep the power until the DC brings up generators, but thats useless if the network is affected as well and it always is.
How can I set up task schedule every minutes to wget "https://domain.ru/cron.php"?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI guess the Plesk 12 is the best version of plesk for windows since i work with plesk on version 8.
But the backup task still has a problem, now i can't backup my server using backup manager. If i create a manual task to create backup after few hours the server and plesk just get to slow to use. Only when i remove task i can use back server.
When Parallels create a backup task who's really work ?
How can i backup all my accounts of server in case of crash?
In plesk it has the ability to schedule a task. It apparently only works for EXE files and php pages ? I that correct ?
How do we schedule an ASP page to run as a task ? I have been trying shells, scripts,
Our data system maintenance and monthly billing are all ASP pages that need to run automatically. Some tasks need to run every 15 minutes.
an email notification for this is coming through every day. It says ended successfully so no errors...
Running task: C:Pleskadmininweb_statistics_executor.exe
Started: Fri Jun 19 01:49:01 2015
Ended successfully: Fri Jun 19 01:49:09 2015
If i go to Server -> Scheduled Tasks and look for it, it cannot be found anywhere. Also scheduled tasks only shows system users, not 'Plesk Administrator' as the kb articles refer to.
I want to add a schedule task for run a script.
Path to executable file: C:Windowssystem32cscript.exe
Arguments Field: E:vhostsmysite.irhttpdocsschedule.vbs
But i get error:
Failed with error: 'C:Windowssystem32cscript.

Since 3 Days the "daily maintenance script" isn't working anymore.

I am working on a new install of PPA, and after installation on the management node Im trying to add the other nodes. Ive tried to add a Apache, Postfix, DNS & DB node, and they all have the same issue. The installation task fails with the following error:
Destination host 'node.domain.com' (#3), IP '192.168.1.*' : The operation can not be completed because the following component is missing or is not running: pleskd (sc_name '', sc_id #45)
(domain and IP are removed here, correct in the original error. The IP is a backchannel IP, and the public IP was properly set in the management node).
I've verified that pleskd was installed and is running on each node:
Code:
24710 ? S 0:00 /usr/local/pem/sbin/pleskd --props-file /usr/local/pem/etc/pleskd.props --send-signal
24712 ? S 0:00 /usr/local/pem/sbin/pleskd --props-file /usr/local/pem/etc/pleskd.props --send-signal
24714 ? S 0:00 /usr/local/pem/sbin/pleskd --props-file /usr/local/pem/etc/pleskd.props --send-signal
...
I've verified that my management node can connect to the nodes in question via 8532:
Code:
]# telnet 192.168.1.* 8352
Trying 192.168.1.*..
Connected to 192.168.1.*.
Escape character is '^]'.
^]
telnet> quit
Connection closed.
So there shouldn't be any firewall or other networking issues.
What else can I try to get this running?
i have setup fresh Centos 6.5 with Plesk Pannel 12.0.18. When i execute the attached command from the console, i get it work, some posts are auto created within wordpress. When i enter the attached command within Plesk (Tools / Settings - Taskmanager - root New Task, the command is not executed...

View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a client that is running backup exec. They have 2 scheduled jobs in the system. One of them runs, and one does not.
It is skipping over the job. If you watch the timer for the backups, it counts down, 2 mins, 1 min. Then jumps to 60 mins. No errors or anything reported in the logs.
Again, the other backup job runs perfectly fine and a manual job runs as well.
Is it possible to schedule consecutive shell commands to be run at a given time or every certain period (like every hour)?
This is important for me as I want to schedule to run certain program and then input the following commands afterwards to do and complete the task, all automatically within the specified schedule.
One example would be connecting to an FTP. First you'd need to input the ftp command to run the ftp program, then following that, input another commands consecutively within that session (the ftp program) to do and complete the task.
I'm running KDE on CentOs4 btw.
Is it even possible to do this on cron jobs?
I am running Plesk 12 on CentOS 7 64bit. I have set up the server backup instead of the website backup as I assume that will backup all server settings, as well as the website? I am running Plesk Web Admin Edition.
I have the backup set to run and dump into Personal FTP, but it does not run. If I run the backup manually, everything works great, but the scheduled backups don't work.
I have created a scheduled task as per my application guide as in the attached file. When i recieve the email it says the following:
: /var/www/vhosts/testdomain.co.uk/clients/admin/cron.php: No such file or directory
i have also tried appending:
php -q
wget -O (using the http to the location to cron.php)
Nothing seems to work.
I have transfered from cpanel and this is my first scheduled task and not getting anywhere with very little information on how to do this.
Im running:
Plesk 12
