View 18 RepliesDo you think if a company offered free web hosting and free domains people would snap them up like there is no tommorow?
Also does anyone one how much ICANN acredited registrars pay ICANN when they register a new domain?
any feedback would be great!
Where can i find the free hosting while register the domain names?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am just curious, I know that it is a great customer retention hook, but really, and how about unlimited bandwidth? This is my first post on the forum, and I will be asking many more questions as I want to get the inside scoop before I take the reseller plunge.
At first glance it seems as though the advertising is throughout the site and not just in the advertisement section. I know it's only $7.95, but for life? I guess if they're paying for 2 years at a time, but month to month there is no way. They would end up with a ton of registered domains, and allot of parked domains. Oh well just thought I would ask.
Can WHT'ers please suggest some reliable UK hosts so I can do some research on them? I am just looking for a small hosting account hosting one domain.
View 14 Replies View RelatedIs it safe to run your website and WHMCS on the same account or site?
Say for example I was running Joomla and WHMCS on the same account. If ever a vulnerability in Joomla was found which allowed hackers to view, edit, or download files on the account, this could mean whmcs getting hacked into. End result would be all account information being stolen or worse all the account being deleted or hacked.
How do I stop my add-on domain from appearing in the search engine as a sub-domain? For example, it shows up as example.com/test.com. I only want test.com.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have several domain names and I pay for hosting for each domain name. Each domain name gets little traffic, uses little bandwidth, and little storage space. I would like to pay for hosting once and share the bandwidth and storage space amongst the multiple sites. Do you know of a hosting company that offers this? I suppose it would involve having one hosting account and multiple IP addresses that resolve to different folders in your account?
View 12 Replies View Relatedi have a cpanel server.. can any one tell me how to allow safe mode to a specific domain?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI know this question has been asked before but I tried the solutions I could find on net but not total success.
So, I have a shared hosting a/c with a domain(say www.xyz.com) pointing to it ..
Now I want a second domain (www.secondsite.com) to point to www.xyz.com/secondsitefolder
There was this article that says to use 'ZoneEdit' [url]how-to-...ting-aaccount/
And it works but the problem is when someone types www.secondsite.com in the browser, the browser url changes to www.xyz.com/secondsitefolder
Is there someway to stop tht browser url change or what's the correct way to have 2 domain names point to one shared hosting a/c.
Currently I have 1 user hosting crash in my cpanel server.
I fail to restore and terminate or recreate his account in whm.
May I know what is the steps to remove and clean the hosting account in ssh?
I user /script/killacct but fail. So, i need manualy to delete user, hositng account and his mysql database in ssh, mode.
I have created a addon domain using cpanel.
I would like to restore awstats from prevous host (normal account) to 'addon domain' (domain2-addon.domain.co.uk).
My backup awstats:
awstats.domain.co.uk.conf
awstats122005.domain.co.uk.txt
awstats052005.domain.co.uk.txt
etc.
need to restore it to addon domain? but addon domain is setup under domain2-addon.domain.co.uk
so i have to rename each file like awstats.domain2-addon.domain.co.uk.conf etc?
I had VPS from SolarVPS a year ago and I found that it requires full attention since it wasn't stable like dedicated server. So, I had to keep an eye on the server and websites where some technical problems happened. These problems like websites stopped working suddenly, email problems, Mysql permissions etc.
I totally agree that SolarVPS has a fantastic support and very quick. They supported me all over the past period. But, a week ago one of my client’s website was used for phishing Paypal customers and it seems like a hacker used the mailing script for this website. Therefore, SolrVPS stopped my VPS immediately and I am still keep on contacting Abuse Department to clarify the situation and resolve the problem. However, all my clients are down now because they are affected by stopping my VPS.
My question here, since I wasn't be able to administrate security or look after the websites at my VPS, what shall I do to have a rest of mind from these problems and concentrate on sales and light support?
Shall I go for dedicated? VPS again? Reseller? However, I always need root access to my server for my technical purposes.
does any one know where i can get a free joml 1.5 webhosting account

View 3 Replies View Relatedis there any other free DNS services where you can submit your domain so that your subdomain can be used for DNS (A)? I cant use afraid.org because it needs all 4 of my nameservers and it would be appreciated to tell me how to do A DNS host through my Cpanel webhosting. I have 2 nameserver slots not being used, but somehow when i used 2/4 afraid.org nameservers, my original website stopped working.

View 24 Replies View RelatedI need a good and free hosting with php/mysql support for a personal site i am making.
All the site is database driven so the host needs to have fast db connections.
The site will also have some audio/photos not bigger than 3/4mb.
Any suggestions?
I've made my first website and I'm trying to find web hosting that is free and that it will also allows me to transfer my files through ftp directly through an ftp server. (ftp.example.com)
I've tried using the one for freewebpage.org but it doesn't work.. I tried it using port 21, 22, and 80 in both frontpage and filezilla and they didn't work.. I guess it's the ftp server that isn't really working, or the information they provide is inaccurate.
I have been searching for free ASP.net hosts since last few months and I didnt have much success in it,
so far I have tried these sites none work ...
i have seen one website ad on internet, offering free web hosting for 1 year (500 mb) with the purchase of any domain name.
I would like to confirm. Is these types of Ads are original or they are offering a fake offer (hidden cost). Because as i know, the domain hosting cost is very high as compare to buy a domain...
I think this information can be useful for you. If you plan to get your website, here is one good free web hosting provider to choose - 000webhost.com
They provide hosting absolutely free, there is no catch. You get 250 MB of disk space and 100 GB bandwidth. They also have cPanel control panel which is amazing. Moreover, there is no any kind of advertising on your pages.
Here's a new free web host to check out:
[url]
5GB disk space
20GB monthly bandwidth
10 MySQL databases
PHP support
Perfect for sites that aren't bandwidth intensive. Anyway, you can't beat the price, particularly if you need to host lots of small sites. I'm currently using the service to host articles and link pages, and it's working out nicely.
some companies claim that they provide hosting services better than some paid ones for free and with no ads. Like 110MB Hosting
View 3 Replies View RelatedMe and a few friends decided to start a web site but we don't have a very large member base at the moment so we are on free forum hosting. I thought the next logical step would be to get some free or very inexpensive website hosting that offered a domain name. So I got gfboards.net from Godaddy.com and tried out their free hosting.
What is really bothering me is that their ad that they put on the top of every page apparently "interferes" with the registration images on PHPBB and SMF forums. I really don't know a lot about web hosts but this just sounds fishy to me. Should I switch web hosts?
I have a domain from go daddy but I want to use free hosting for that domain. any one know any free hosting providers.
