Lost Connection To Mysql Server During Query

Aug 12, 2007

some vBulletin customers facing to that error message, with session table with attachment only. Other just work fine. It's not because of server load. The load is just around 0 - 0.1

I have increased wait_timeout to 200 and max_allowed_packet to 64MB. Each attachment file in those vBulletin is just around 1-3MB.

Is there any idea why and how to fix?

Sharepoint Services 2003 Upgrade Lost Data

May 29, 2007

We have recently had an IT guy perforn the upgrade from wss 2.0 to wss 3.0 and we have since lost the entire database architecture and I believe the data stored therein. Is there someplace on the server where the data records could be stored and has anyone had similar problems with this type of upgrade? The IT firm says it's a problem with a security patch from microsoft but I can't find anythying referencing that online.

The following may provide some background on what transpired and how it has been handled thus far; these are from correspondence between our company and the IT firm in chronological order:

Our initial inquiry:
5/23 We have several questions regarding the upgrade of the SPS software, not the least of which being why was the upgrade performed without any advance notice to our office, this notice would have allowed us to take the precaution of having our people save their work in progress and prevented the loss of data and time that we experienced. In the future we would ask that we be shown the professional courtesy of prior notification before commencing any major work to the server environment.

At about 1:00 yesterday all of the computers at the shop went down, we contacted (IT REP) and he said that you had started the install of the 3.0 software that morning and at the time he said that the install was complete.

And since that time we have had multiple problems with the system. First we have no remote access, and receive a server error of the server application is not available, the lay-out of the pages does not process properly ie…the column order displays in a random sequence and not as called for in the column settings. The default page now has the added search feature however the format of the prior software has been retained which causes the navigation of that particular page to differ from the rest of the site.

Please contact us as soon as possible, as (COMPANY OWNER) has no access to the system and no e-mail.
Reply from IT Rep:
5/24 IT REP worked on the phone for over 7 hours yesterday. The Microsoft Tech and IT REP agreed to continue this morning. I know as of last night the remote portion of the Companyweb and the internal site were functioning. However, they are continuing to work to retrieve the existing data.

Did you ever add the other external hard drive to your backup rotation? If so, please let IT REP know. I have meeting this morning until 11:30, if you need anything please contact IT REP.

We will discuss what caused the problem and future prevention after all is resolved.
Our response:
5/25 I am inquiring as to the progress toward restoration of the company web. As you are already aware, the data contained in the company web is crucial to the day to day operation of our business. We are not able to access any of our scheduling information for installations, production or customer service issues. While we have been able to track most of these items thus far, the amount of information available for scheduling next week is quite limited.

It would be helpful to have some indication of when we expect to be restored as well as an estimate of the percentage of data which may be lost, so that we can begin to formulate our response to the situation.

I am certain that you and IT REP understand just how serious the consequences of this situation can become, and assume that you will be capable of providing us with periodic updates as to your progress.

I would also be interested to find out if there are plans to work this out over the weekend or if it has been decided to place this on the back burner and resume restoration of our vital data on tuesday. IT Reply:
5/25 At this point, this is a Microsoft issue that they are working on to resolve – I’m only facilitating their ability to access the server and work. I am doubtful that they work on the weekend, but I will find out. IT REP and I have spent roughly 25 hours in the last 2.5 days working on this, myself until almost midnight last night, so he and I are putting forth every conceivable effort to resolve this. In the mean time, I have turned off the automatic updates (which are enabled by default) to prevent this type of thing from happening again. Keep in mind that if there were 2 hard drives being used in a rotation as IT REP suggested, we’d have backups from before the failed patch to revert to.

As soon as I have any indication of a target time for resolution, I will not hesitate to let you know. Our next question:
5/25 Have we checked to hard drive that is currently in use to see if there is anything salvageable on there. Isn't the server partitioned and mirrored?Latest IT correspodence:
5/25 I have a few suggestions from microsoft that we were going to try, but it looks as though someone took the external drive off the server, so we were unable to do it. I was just checking to see that someone did do that, and that it's in a safe place until it can be reconnected.. The server uses a RAID 5, not mirroring. Mirroring wouldn't matter either, as in a mirrored configuration, 2 drives mirror each other - when the primary is written to, the secondary (mirror) is immediately updated. I'm pretty sure we can get the data files (.dwg, .xls. ,doc, etc) out of the sharepoint database, but we'll need the drive reconnected. The Microsoft engineers have left for the day, but we'll be back on it next week on Tues when they're back in.

Plesk 12.x / Linux :: FTPS Not Working After Upgrade - Could Not Establish Connection

May 5, 2015

For some reason FTPS is no longer working as it used to before plesk upgraded. At this point, I am not sure which Plesk upgrade caused this since I do not FTPS or ftp in general often. its enabled as it was before, even disabled and re-enabled it again. Still gives a "could not establish connection". Restarted the service via command Line with "service xinetd restart". still isnt working...

5GB Space Lost

Jun 2, 2008

We delete LOGS.

We delete QUEUE mail.

After we add up all the space of the counts.

space of count1 + space of count2 + space of count3 + ... ALL COUNTS

And TOTAL < to 2GB included MySQL space

But space used (say Vistuozzo), is 8.47 Gb!

How we can understand this?

Ok, maybe 2 GB of CENTOS + cpanel + WHM+ MySQL + Files config = 2 GB

Home + MySQL = 2GB

4 GB is very different to 8.5 GB!

Ok think in 3 GB of SO+WHM+CONFIG add 2 GB of files this = 5 GB

what is packets lost,

I used just-pings.com site and its says my site had 100% losts packets in some locations, what does this mean?

One of my other host doesn't have any packets lost, so for a new package should I go with them, rather than the host which has packets lost?

When I asked my host they said do not trust just-ping and told me to use,

PHP Have Lost All Libraries

Nov 20, 2007

I have a problem with PHP installed on my Linux server.

PHP 5.2.3 worked fine with JSON, MySQL and other libraries.

But when I:
- installed FFmpeg-PHP module
- added extension=FFmpeg module into php.ini (nothing was changed in php.ini)
- installed PHP-devel with yum
- rebooted server

PHP stopped working with MySQL and JSON. I've added absolute path for mysql.so in php.ini and it works now. But I couldn't find json.so library on my server (with find command).

So, I've downloaded and compiled Json 1.2 and added absolute path to .so in php.ini, but it doesn't work.

FFmpeg-PHP doesn't work also.

I get these errors in php error log file:

Quote:

My Ping/packets Lost

Feb 20, 2008

I'm getting slow server response times I've been struggling with this for quite some while.

Here is what I know so far:

1. My website divinelightingdotcom through justping returns average 60-80% packets lost for all locations but Santa Clara, which usually has 0-20% loss.

2. My VPS is in Dallas

3. My ISP is also in Dallas, yet justping their website returns 0 packets lost

4a. When I ping my site from Atlanta, the avg trip is 44 ms

4b. However, the first access of my website through a browser usually takes about 5-10 seconds to respond

4c. I assume that my customers have this same experience (if so, this is killing me on my sponsored search advertising)

5. subsequent navigation through the website is usually acceptably fast.

6. wait an hour or so, and the initial page load has 5-10 second response delay again (can be any page on the site)

7. perhaps related, WinMTR from my location in Atlanta shows an comcast IP in virginia that consistently has 20% loss. I have opened a trouble ticket with Comcast.

Webhost Lost All My Files

Apr 9, 2008

I'm just wanting some feedback in response to what I feel is gross neglegence of a Webhost I used. I have a website thru this company, WebsitePros. They seemed great for someone like myself, a retail business owner/operator w/ no eployees. I pay 1 company to host, market, and provide software for me to build & manage my site & store. My site had an ecommerce store which was mistakenly deleted by someone at their company. They lost all my pics, product descriptions, customer info, etc, from 2 years of business. They have no backups at all for the store (i had to login to my account to manage store using thier software-- no ability to backup the info on my computer). I was told by their supervisor that traditional webhosts like WebsitePros don't backup store files, just the site itself, and that they would only be willing to help rebuild but offer no monetary compensation (oh yeah, and 3months at 1/2 price...sweet). This isn't a case of failure to pay a bill or anything along those lines---they admit total liability.
My questions are:

1) Is it not the webhost's responsibility to backup these "store" files?

2) Do I seem unreasonable in asking for damages since they lost all this info, including 100's of customer profiles & outstanding orders?

3) Heard of precedents here? Right compensation?

Database Username, PW Lost

Oct 21, 2008

I am trying to change to a different server within the same webhosting company and they have asked me for the username and password of the SQL database I have in my site. Call me stupid, but I have lost this and now I am wondering what I can do.

Since I can log into the cpanel etc I can very well make a copy of the database etc., if that helps. Is there somewhere I should look in the files and folders where the username password info may be store in? I seem to recall reading somewhere that is the case. Any info appreciated.

The reason the host needs this info is because the new server doesnt use cpanel, it uses something called plesk. So if all fails, I am thinking, I just move to a different host who uses cpanel, that way I dont need the UN/PW? Seems a rather silly thing to do, but I have t consider all alternatives now.
