View 4 RepliesI'm using Plesk 12.0.18 version with Windows 2012. I need to backup files to remote ftp server. Remote server configuration is Windows 2012 with IIS server. It works with ftp clients very well.
But, i have a problem about Personel FTP Repository. I open Personal FTP Repository Settings and write all boxes with true information about remote ftp server but it says "Transport error: unable to list directory: Curl error: Login denied".
Ftp server works fine with ftp clients and cpanel backups.
At work, we have a windows 2003 server.
We have a set of files that get modified from day to day.
Since they know I own a dedicated server (Linux) they ask me if it would be possible to have an offsite backup on my server of the set of files on the windows 2003 server.
Also, I dont want to have the whole files set to be uploaded everyday.
I am aware of rsync on *nix system, but do you have any suggestions on how to proceed with a windows 2003 server to a unix server?
What is the best way to get backup from linux server to windows same as rsync
i need to take offside backup from my linux server to windows server, before i used rsync to take backup, now i need to make backup in windows server with help of any software which work same as rsync or any software which must have good feature.
I have a 6GB backup file created with another Plesk Backup Manager, now I trying to upload this backup file to my Plesk Backup Manager but after upload 3% I am getting "413 Request Entity Too Large" error, I tried with disable NGINX but still getting this error.
how can I resolve this error or is their any other way to upload my file on backup manager?
I see that Backup Manager have a file size restriction of 2GB how can I increase this?
I rent windows dedicated server for just about a month, but I never had problem.
When I copy files on my home computer and then paste them onto server's drive, files begin copying, but after some time they stop copying and I hear double beep sound.
Time after which they stop copying is random.
I have a scheduled backup set on my panel, to backup all server configuration and content, and is set to run every week. I also set to keep only 1 backup on repository, but this config doesn't seem to work! My hard drive is getting full all the time, and when I check that its because theres a lot of old backups stored that are not getting removed!
My question is: the backup script removes the old files only at the end or it does it while backing up? If the action of removal happens only at the end of the script, i think it would explain why it isn't working: my hard drive gets full before, and the script drops an error, and never get to the end of it and it doesn't remove the old backups.

I setup one Linux server, I want use SSH transfer my website data (already .tar) to another Linux server. May I know what SSH command to use and transfer my file to another Linux server?

I am running Hosting Controller control panel on my servers.
I have noticed in a few Windows server tha the server gets hacked and there are tons of files which are mostly DVD rips and games being transferred away which results in huge amount of data transferred and bandwidth consumption increasing to as far as 29 Mbps. On further investigation, I find that all the files get stored in either the Recycler directory or the System Volume Information directories in any of the drives. Now these two directories are protected operating system files. Even if there is a windows firewall installed, there is no difference. I have even noticed that in some servers there is an automatic exception rule added in the windows firewall enabling the torrent client to communicate outside the server. This seems to be a common problem with Windows 2003 server and seems to be some backdoor of Windows allowing hackers to use the server for seeding. Has anybody come across such a problem or know the solution? Kindly help me with this.

The video encoder that I prefer to use will only work in a windows enviorment
The windows server would pass off the converted video to the Linux server.
Will a Samba server for Linux allow a Linux machine to connect and share files with a Windows machine work for this application.
Although it's probably a dumb question but can Linux and Windows exist on the same server?
Due to some recent negative experiences, one of my customers had to cancel their account with IBackup.com's Pro services. It had provided exceptional reliability and did Windows backup of the System State, Exchange Server, SQL, and provided file versions going 30 back. But I couldn't get anywhere with technical support for 2 weeks on why it would freeze during the backups. The final straw came when I installed it to a brand new server and had the same issues.
I'm looking for a suggestion on a provider that does at least file-level backups and Exchange backups. I've looked around online, read reviews, but it doesn't look like the providers do Exchange backup. I don't need mailbox-level backup, just brick-level for disaster recovery. File versions going back (in case a user makes a mistake and wants to restore an old copy) would be nice, but not required.
I guess the Plesk 12 is the best version of plesk for windows since i work with plesk on version 8.
But the backup task still has a problem, now i can't backup my server using backup manager. If i create a manual task to create backup after few hours the server and plesk just get to slow to use. Only when i remove task i can use back server.
When Parallels create a backup task who's really work ?
How can i backup all my accounts of server in case of crash?
Any good backup software that can do the following.
1) Backup whole system image.
2) Backup regular selected files folders.
It must be able to do auto-rsync to another server that is located in another data center.
I do note that alot of the software out there can do the backup to local drives, or server located within the network but not external network.
If anyone know of any software that is capable of doing the following, do post here.
my plesk server was running OK for the last 13 months and suddenly it breaks apart on its own and I cant make it work again. [URL]
Is there a way to backup database at this stage? How?
Planning to reformat my windows server. and start over.
Getting error while running backup on server. Plesk 12 windows 2012.

i was wondering whats the difference between a windows server and a linux server. if a client asks me which one should they choose? which one is better? what should i tell them to go with
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am trying to restore a backup that Parallels Plesk made (latest version) and I used to get the option at some point to replace everything. Now, I only get the options to select what I want to restore and it fails because it says certain things, domains, content is already there.
I can't find the option anymore that allows me to say replace everything during the backup. Was that removed? If so, I'd really....really like it back.

I'm running Plesk v12.0.18 #22 on Ubuntu 12.04.
In the plesk backup-settings I've set the max. number of backup-files to 5.
Actually Plesk doesn't limit the number of backups stored in the local repository.
So unfortunately the partition is running out of space.
What can be done to solve that problem?
When I send files to my through FTP, the server cuts connection and I get this message in messages log file
FAIL: ftp per_source_limit from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
xxx.... my IP
And I've observed the connection is closed and opened during the transfer.
I avoid disconnection adding per_source=unlimited in /etc/xinetd.d/ftp_psa
But I see this entry in the same message log
mod_delay/0.7: unable to open DelayTable '/var/proftpd.delay': No such file or directory
When making backup, I get this error:

After a server migration, some critical Plesk settings were not copied across, even though the option to backup/restore panel configuration was used. e.g.
skeleton (vhosts.skel folder)
php.ini (Program Files (x86)ParallelsPleskAdditionalPleskPHP5* folder)
Default site (vhostsdefault folder)
health config (Program Files (x86)ParallelsPleskadminconfcustom-health-config.xml)
Additional Administrator accounts
Is there a way to get these things to backup and restore that I am doing wrong?
Are there other important settings/data that I have missed from that list? I am still paying to keep the old server in case I discover something else!
Using Plesk Backup & Restore for disaster recovery will lose these settings unless they take extra steps. e.g. I now have a simple batch file that copies these files to a private folder on one of the domains before the daily backup kicks in.
I have a plesk
[root@srv tmp]# cat /usr/local/psa/version
10.3.1 CentOS 5 1013110726.09
I have following problem:
When i do full backup and download this backup, plesk create a temporary file inside directory /usr/local/psa/tmp but after download finish this file is not deleted, and this is causing problem because i have a server with small disk space.
I keep getting this warning on one of my domains.
I was running on a Ubuntu 10.04 LTS VPS and had this error too, then yesterday imported the domain from the old VPS to our new Plesk Server (Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS) and I still get this error on this one domain.
This is the error in question...

When you delete a site backup from its "Backup Manager" Panel, it is removed and no longer displayed in the Panel. However, I cannot tell if this action actually does anything with the real site backup files in "/var/lib/psa/dumps". Does this action merely remove it from PSA's database but not touch any actual files? If this is true, then how are site backup files supposed to be managed if this action doesn't actually delete them?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a python script that generates images and is able to write them into a directory on the same web space
However, I would like the same script to write files into another directory located in the web space of another domain on the same server.
For example, script lives here...
/var/www/vhosts/domain1.com/httpdocs/scripts/myscript.py
this works...
/var/www/vhosts/domain1.com/httpdocs/scripts/images/
this fails...
/var/www/vhosts/domain2.com/httpdocs/web/images/
The directory structure already exists, so there is no need to create any new directories
I have tried setting permissions for the destination "images" directory to 777 and that didn't work.
Do I need to specify something within Plesk to enable it to write to another directory?

I have Plesk 12.0.18 on Ubuntu
I recently opened a new plesk account on another server and need to restore a backup from a previous server. Both plesk 11.5.
How can I do this ?
I don't have ssh or other access.
Can I just copy the guid ID off the new server and overwrite the extracted backup files?
Only issue I have with that is that a can't redo the XML file required for uploading backups to restore...
