Emcvps - Adiungo - Reviews
May 27, 2008
i am expanding my network, instead of a dedicated server i am going to use some VPS servers which can handle the load of my site pretty good.
While searching i found these 2 hosts: adiungo & emcvps.
They offer almost the same packs, but i read some reviews that they were a scam or they did other things who were not good.
Anyway, has anyone experience with them? Or do i need to stay away from them?

Here is my review of EMCVPS.com:
How long was I a customer:
8 VERY LONG DAYS
How satisfied was I:
If the scale was 0-10 I would rate this company a -2
How fast were support tickets answered:
Typically within 2-3 hours per ticket (not bad)
How do there packages compare with others:
I would say this place offers better than average pricing. Compared to other large providers it does look from the outside of the box to have more value
After 1 week was I satisfied:
Absolutely NOT. I was not satisfied from day one!
Does this company oversell VPS boxes:
YES andI have e-mail transcripts to show this. I can not believe I got a tech support technician to admit the box was in fact oversold.
Other comments about company:
I joined this company under there VPS Hosting DELUXE plan for a little under $35 a month. The machine came with a decent setup including: 20GB storage, 3TB transfer, 712MB of Ram (what?), and 2 static IP's. Sounded great as they touted there larger customers and in fact I was impressed so I signed aboard. I then proceeded to setup 5 sites on my box and ran into speed issues on the box (day one). I backed up and looked over system resources.....I was using 426% cpu usage and it stated I had 48 megs of ram free from what I purchased. Immediately I felt there was an option I checked by mistake so I spent the next two days trying to figure out what was happening and why resources were being used up before the host cut my VPS off. After day 3 I decided to write in and got a generic response of my scripts must be using extremely high resources and I must upgrade...... This comment shocked me considering on wsservers I was using 110 megs of ram and only 100 cpu units on average. I declined the offer and continued to pester support until I decided I wanted to cancel on day 7. On day 7 is when I received a support reply stating my box was OVERSOLD and even though I had purchased an extra 700 cpu units they were never credited to my account like the server stated. To me this is bad business and a poor attempt at defrauding customers.
On to the bigger and better.....I request the refund that is stated all over there website, "30 days no questions asked". Not exactly......I first had to write support to receive credit for the 700 cpu units they did not credit me and they eventually agreed.
When I did receive my refund 3 days later they pro rated my hosting and over pro-rated at that. Of the $33.95 I paid ($41.95 total) they are only willing to give me $19.88 back saying I ABUSED there oversold servers. My sites do not require a lot of resources so this ultimately pissed me off.
Final Words:
This company is a semi scam bait and switch hosting company. They offer an unconditional 30 day warranty which is not what they honor when you request it. You have no access to see your site is oversold besides seeing your member base drop and sales STOP due to 3 minute load times on a site that loaded in 4 seconds on a much less powerful box. If you wish to join this company...good luck. If you like oversold boxes why not.
I have to thank my previous provider wsservers.com, not only did they accomodate my return within 1 hour but they also assisted me in getting back to profitability fast.
Emcvps= do you want no business nor customers
They have yet to give me a full refund per there own terms of service....

I had an annual VPS server contract with adiungo, that wasn't the best service, but it was cheap, so it was correct. Then they moved my account to EMC (emcvps.com), and after 3 weeks, my VPS stopped working.
I talked with them on the online "support" chat, by phone, by mail, by ticket, like 30 times.... and I got *NOTHING* more than excuses, ... "the admin will look for it and we will inform you by mail...." etc etc... I'm still waiting (that was 1.5 months ago.)
I have like 6 months remaining in my contract, but I don't want to know anything more about them.
I moved to a dedicated server, and rescued my backup.
Never go for these people if you want to do serious business....

i found a nice ovh server which is a quad core with 8 gb of ram on a 1 GBps port. I saw a few reviews and i heard people say that they will lower your speed or something. What i need to host is a game server which uses a lot of upload. At least 10 mbps at MOST excluding users that have to download a 5 mb file. Perhaps if i tested my upload on speedtest.net if i had a ovh server that is on a 1 gbps port. What would the upload be?

Anyone here used Midphase? Over at WHT you can find as many negatives as positives for almost anyone you chose. Anyone at Sitepoint used them? I'm very cautious about switching and have checked into several web hosts. I would stick with the one I have now, but server load spikes seem to come at the worst times and stay around for hours.

I'm with ASmallOrange ( ASO - www.asmallorange.com ) already for more than one year. I have to say I have been very happy with the quality and service I have received.
SERVER
Server is very reliable. Yes, I encountered some issue months ago, because some DNS attack and password issue on ASO's staff, but they handle the situation very good and they was honest about it.
SUPPORT
Their support is fantastic. Actually, I seldom contact support since everything is okay, but when I did, their reply is fast and prompt.
COMMUNITY FORUM
They have good and active community forum.
PRICE
Their price is reasonable. Yes, ASO do not offer "unlimited" but their prices compared to quality is okay.

Since it is required, my site with ASO : www.midave.com

any reviews on vpsrush?
I know they have started in just 2009, still there could be users who would like to share their review,
was lookin their plans for one of my friend, their plans look good
may be even impressive but after the mess around with the newly dooming/scam hosts such as hostchum, sarora, resellerways, it makes me think more than twice before selecting an host
See, I don't wish to raise up a discussion on the hosts again, its just my way of lookin at those recent dumb hosts which let lots of users in pain, including one of my dear friend.
I know its good to think twice, but it has made me lose faith really badly in the hosting industry thanks to the kiddies and scam hosts, to gain confidence back in the hosts might be a real tough buy
I know serving, wiredtree are still around but I am referring to the low-budget hosts..

Since moved to Seattle area 2 years ago, I searched for a Supermicro-server-built vendor closed to Seattle. I found some, but their pricing seem expensive. Some others are very slow in response, even from other WHT users, they seem good. Recently, contacted Scott Lee at Kerbo System, and I believe I have found a good one.
As usual, I sent a lot of pre-sales questions. Scott is very nice, to answer all questions with details. He shows a good experience in server hardware building. Then, I decided to order a new dual Nehalem system with them. Transaction went smoothly, and I have server on time. He even took some photos of servers for me, before shipping out, so I can show to customers. He also noted down for me all series numbers of all parts in server, so I can keep track, in case something wrong.
At first, I am not very impressed with their home page, but please don't let you down. Drop Scott an email with your requirements, or what you are going to do with server, he will reply with his advice, what he's thinking the best in your case. A good service, especially for business likes ours, not in the US.
So, a short reviews about Scott Lee and Kerbo System. I would highly recommend them to anyone needs Supermicro servers in the West coast.
Scott, thanks for a good service. We are looking for a long term business relation.

I am considering Makosolutions as a VPS provider as they seem to have a better offer than my current provider when it comes to price and specifications. Recently I read one negative review of them, so I am wondering if anyone else has any reviews of them, so I can make up my mind.
