This Site May Harm Your Computer - Says Google
Aug 2, 2007
When checking my daily logs, I noticed a strange referral, and checking Google serps I saw this strange message:"This site may harm your computer"
The referrer is as follows: "http://www.google.com/interstitial?url=http://www.mysite.com
Is there any idea as to how this can happen? and is there any way to find out that badware on my website?

please bear w/ me since this is my first time on launching a site online..
My site is being hosted by a free hosting company..
When I tried viewing the source code of my page some of the html tags are not seen like the <html>,<meta>,<head>...
and I can't seem to verify my site on google...
Verification status: NOT VERIFIED
Last attempt Jan 30, 2009: We've detected that your 404 (file not found) error page returns a status of 200 (Success) in the header.
why is this so?
Did the host delete those?
what should i do?

So I checked on the Google Webmaster tools, it has a nice graph now saying that it's hit my site 30 times/day for the last month or so. HOWEVER, when I look at my logs (I log googlebot) I have over 17000 page views in the last three days. Already I am using the Agent to remove images and some of the more expensive queries which are too old to be in the cache (Googlebot looks at pages on my site which are very old).
What other things should I be doing...? I appreciate that Google is indexing my site, but this is more of a scrape, than index. Just for this month alone, looking at my stats, I see the following:
144360 10.03% 143949 12.31% 1724938 17.72% 2 0.01% crawl-66-249-66-1.googlebot.com
2 visits, generating 144360 page views!!!!

I hope some of you are using Google Apps and can help me to find an answer to the following question:
I own two different and independent domain names (e.g. domain1.com and domain2.com).
I'd like to use the Google Apps (Standard, free edition) with them to create two different and totally independent mailboxes (e.g. abc@domain1.com and xyz@domain2.com).
But how many Google accounts I need to do this? Can I manage two (or more) independent and fully functional domains using one Google account?
P.S.
Help section contains descriptions of aliases for multiple domains, which are just pointers or shortcuts, but not a fully functional mailboxes, so this solution isn't something I'm looking for.

I was just wondering if there is a way to control your website (that is, uploading, editing and so on) when you do not have access to your own "home-computer". You do have access to other computers and the internet, but these computers do not have your local root folder of course.
So is there a way to control your website, let's say, when you are on vacation.

I recently logged into my Windows Server 2003 OS Server via Remote Desktop and was met with a message/box saying Why did this computer shutdown. It had a dropdown field for a reason and then empty text fields for Problem ID and Comment.
What steps can I take to figure out what happened?
Server is a fresh install of Win Server 2003

I have been using Vista 32-bit with FileZilla for 2-years on this computer. I haven't made any recent changes to my system, but suddently NO FTP clients work.
I tried FileZilla and FireFTP (firefox extension). Neither can connect. FileZilla just gives a timeout error. FireFTP has been "connecting" for 5-minutes. No success.
I tried to bypass my Linksys router and go directly through my cable model. They still do not work.
I *CAN* connect to an FTP site using telnet command.

Are all computer modems cabable of recieveing caller ID information. I came across some opensource code for caller on on a computer and the information says that the phone wire has to be plugged into the computers "caller id capable" modem.
Know I know most people these days have a network card because most people connect using a high speed connection. However I would love to setup this program on my home computers for when I get a call and I am at my desktop I can see who is calling

If I get a reseller account with like 50 gigs more space (or any amount) than I actually use, can I use some of that space I'm paying for to backup my home computer? This isn't really a question of how (although I'll accept advice) but more a question of 'is this typically allowed' or 'does anybody else do this'?

I am trying to install Apache + PHP on Windows XP SP2. I managed to get Apache working. However, when I setup PHP and tried to access a page with <?php phpinfo(); ?> it displayed nothing but a blank page. When I viewed the source is showed the PHP, therefore it was not parsed...
I have checked and double checked my paths, I have tried doing it as a module and cgi, I have read tutorial after tutorial and I cannot get it to function properly.
Apache 2.2.6, PHP 5.2.5

to ship 2 machines to LINX and DECIX from the US, and obviously need either adapters or just new cables. I'm just not certain what plug type is used at both or either location. I guess I'm looking for information similar to like what we have here in the US (NEMA 1-15 or NEMA 2-20).
I'm looking at these adapters:
Grounded CEE7/7 - Germany
British BS 1363 - UK

I have 3 computers on the same network. One running apache2 on Ubuntu 12.04 and the others with Windows7. I want to access the website I set up from a Windows machine. When I type in the URL, domain.com, I get a 404 error. When I type in 127.0.1.1/domain.com I get the directory listing for the website. I have to actually type 127.0.1.1/domain.com/public_html/ before the website can actually be seen. I would like to get rid of the public_html part. I am brand new to all this.

We are currently in a limited Alpha for a very demanding web application. We'll (hopefully) be in closed Beta in 3 months and go live / open beta after all issues are fixed.
Our problem is that we know that we will need, even for the open beta, a costly setup.
We are talking about 2 front-end servers for Apache / PHP / Memcached, 2 for a Mysql Cluster / replication / partitioned (undecided) and at least 1 just for pre-processing stuff that later will go to the database.
Growing from those requirements is very possible, so we would like to be able to add new computers to the cluster, more processing machines, more front-ends, a load balancer, etc.
Of course we have considered the Cloud (Amazon S3 and stuff), but those 5 initial machines are a must for us.
My question is, what is the best solution here, a rack with a private Lan/fast switches?
What are the recommended companies for this kind of installations? Will they manage everything or just rent the rack?
Any clues about how costly (setup and monthly) this kind of setup would be? I can't find specific prices for these "special installations" anywhere, they all want us to call and we are just preparing for 4/6 months on the road.

I have some customers who use a VPN to connect to the internet securely. (They live in a restricted country.)
So when they connect to the VPN, it gives them a new IP, and when they go to "whatismyip.com" it shows the IP of the VPN server, as expected.
The problem is that sometimes their IP changes back to their local ISP without any indication. The VPN still appears to work (green lights are displayed in the VPN icon in the sytem tray), but their IP is now the local ISP providers, which means they are not fully "protected" any more.
And that is bad.
So, what I'm thinking is to find a Windows program or script or something that runs every x minutes.. and checks to see what is the current IP. If it isn't as expected (the VPN server's IP), then a big red warning window would start flashing on the screen, so they can then reboot or restart the VPN.
Does anyone know of such a program?
(BTW - they are using openVPN, latest version. And yes -- it works properly 99% of the time.. but for some reason the IP just changes back to local ISP for no apparent reason. The log does not show any errors or helpful indicators.)
