May 12, 2009What is the technical obligation to have a dedicated IP address for SSL?
Can a different SSL certificate not just be setup for each vhost individually? The certs are based on hostname, right?
what's stopping me from using one IP per server as opposed to one IP per website for active services/projects.

we are using exim mail server and whm . i can't understand where is problem , anybody can help me ?

Aug 23, 2007I'm having an issue with php sending mail on my server...its not working!
I have a windows 2000 server running IIS 5 along with PHP. Now I know my scripts in PHP are correct, but they aren't sending out mail. I cannot receive them anywhere.
Is there something I have to configure in the PHP.ini file? Is SMTP setup by IIS5 or do I need to do anything?
Outlook Autodiscover Requires A DNS Change
Aug 8, 2008We host for a company that has its email on another server. Everything works fine with the DNS changes already made.
However, Outlook has an autodiscover feature that requires an additional DNS entry and I am at a loss as to what record type to use.
They had it set up on their old host as:
autodiscover.lif?.com to point to "autodiscoverredirect003.in?.net"
Does anyone know which record type to use for this?
Proper SSL- Liquidweb SSL
Sep 1, 2008I have a server qith liquidweb. Recently I'm getting the message..
host.domain.com used an invalid security certificate.
The certificate is not trusted because it is self signed.
Error code sec_error_untrusted_issuer
Liquidweb is tell me I need an SSL certificate? I don't get it sicne I have a new server with them that doesnt get this error and another older one that doesnt get the error.
OK find]e, whatever.
I have free SSL's at namecheap from positivessl.
Can I use this on my host.domain.com and will it give ssl to all the domains on the server?
I host a whole bunch of domains on this server

Aug 10, 2008For configuring mail.mysite.com as a smtp server so as tom send mails using it on port 25. Do i need to create a subdomain with "mail" and if so what shal be ip address that should be mapped to ip. Th ip address of the vps hosting or of that of domain name as ns1.domaincompany.com.

VPS And Smtp Mail Server
Jul 13, 2007I recently purchased a VPS, to host all my domains and so I can start working on my sites. The problem is however that I have noticed that my provider does not allow individual smtp servers. Is this normal for a VPS? Is there a solution to the problem that I could suggest?
The problem is that the sender is added as host.myhostdomain.com and not smtp.mydomain.com, where mydomain.com is the domain that I want to create a website for and myhostdomain.com is the name of the server.
If the SMTP server is not the same as the domain name, then my email will land in all different junkmail folders, which is not really what I had in mind. It is no use trying to build up a user database if you cant communicate with them. How should I be able to sell services, if I cant send an e-mail to my customers?
I just dont know. I have to admit that I am a bit disappointed. It is not like I am paying a forture, but I am realistic. If one of them gets big I probably have to host them individually, but until I get more traffic this is a good solution.
My hosting provider runs Cpanel/WHM/Fantastico/XController, if that helps.
I have already tried to approach customer support about this issue, but the response was simply "With the PHP email issue, there really isn't a way to have it sent from some other address. It is technically coming from the hostname, so it will be labeled as such. In the php script, you can have it set to a different from
address, but the actual sender will be from the hostname."
Accessing PhpMyAdmin Through DirectAdmin Requires Login
May 31, 2009I'm used to CPanel in which I can access phpMyAdmin without getting prompted for an additional login. With DirectAdmin, when I access phpMyAdmin I get a popup asking me for username/password. Is this standard behavior, or something with my DirectAdmin config? I prefer not having to type in an additional login to access phpMyAdmin.

Apr 22, 2008Right now I have maybe 6 personal sites that I keep on my new VPS. They are mixed together in the public_html file. Ex: coolsite.com and anothersite.com are found in public_html/coolsite/ and public_html/anothersite/ so the result is somewhat messy with many folders. What is the proper way to add sites so I have access to each site separately so it is not so cluttered? Or am I doing this right?

How To Setup IIS SMTP To Copy ALL Sent Mail
Nov 27, 2008I want to config my IIS SMTP server to copy ALL sent mail to another address.
Or, to log in more detail what was sent (I have W3C logging turned on but it doesnt record the mail subject or body).
Basically when a user complains they didnt get an email, I want to be able to look in the log to see (a) the mail was sent and (b) the body/subject of the mail.
Mail() And SMTP Not Woking On Just One Account
Mar 26, 2008One of my accounts, which of course is my main account, are unable to send out emails using either the php mail() function or SMTP, but regular email can be sent and received normaly.
All other accounts on the server works just fine though and I have deleted and setup all emails on that account and pretty much poked it anyway I can with no success.
When attempting to send emails from this account it does not show up in any error logs, email ques or anything like that as far as I can tell...it just get stuck in mid air like tha functions are never called...

so here is the problem.
i want to use pop3 account directly from my outlook, but i don't know how to fill the smtp outgoing address, which mean, i can logged in to account by i cannot send the mail via outlook, but if i'm using the webmail provided by plesk it's just run fine.

I monitoring under WHM of my server the QUEUE (under mail queue manager)
With the first (mail()) I see only 20% in the queue, other is sent immediately
With the SMTP I see 100% on the queue and I must send manually (with delivery now) and sent is really slowly
