View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I deny all other traffic for the "System policy for incoming traffic" to secure the server by only allowing the explicit ports I've requested to open, my server stops operating correctly.
It appears when I set the "System policy for incoming traffic" to deny, it appears to be disrupting various functions such as web traffic over ports 80/443, FTP, SSH, they either work extremely slow or don't work at all.
I brought this up with my Plesk license provider and they stated that the Plesk firewall doesn't add any tracking for ephemeral ports, therefore if you set the policy to drop for incoming/outgoing, it's not going to allow proper TCP communication since the return socket can't be opened. Also that the firewall is an explicit deny system rather than explicit allow based system.
Am I doing something wrong? All I want to do is to block all ports other than the ones I've set to allow. Is this how it is supposed to work?
I have a problem with my linux server using plesk 12x, I am using postfix as the email service, all emails are working from the webmail (horde) and from any email client using smtp.However the service is not working from the website (contact form on Wordpress) nor through the ssh commands. I have searched for few days but I still seem to have an issue.

On our instance (Plesk 12 / Debian) I am logged out within 1 or 2 minutes quite often while working on config of the primary website (admin access). The session idle time is set to the 30 min default, and the problem isn't to do with changing IP addresses - the multiple sessions visible all have the same IP address.
This happens so constantly it is difficult do any real work. Where is the logic of session creation and termination? What do we need to look at to deal with this problem? We have root access.
Yesterday i was putting a website to manage in localhost but i had to abilitate the usage of mod_rewrite. when i'm in the index and i try to open links i have this message..The requested URL /c3click.php was not found on this server.Here are the steps that i followed:

I am running a CentOS 6.6 (Final) with Plesk 12.0.18 Update #27 on my dedicated server. I was advised to upgrade my server to one that has a SSD due to better performance. What they failed to tell me was that I would need to perform additional configurations so that Plesk stores the subscription files in the /HDD-var/ directory and NOT the /SDD-var/ directory. Current server
Here are my questions:
1. How difficult would it be (I am a quick learner and can follow exact steps or directions very well) to make Plesk store the files on the HDD rather than the SDD?
2. Is this something I should undertake or is this very difficult to do?
3. If I perform these changes, will they revert to the old way if I perform Plesk updates? Or will the changes I make become permanent?

I have domainA and domainB. domainA hosting files, for security ALL browser access should denied.. EXCEPT domainB make in php call with readfile() to a file on domainA. This should allowed.
domainB => readfile(http://domainA/myfile) => allowed ... all other access should denied.
So I set in vhost of domainA this:

I am using the plesk firewall and trying to set up SSH rule which only allows from my IP but deny from everywhere else. In previous versions this worked fine by adding an ip selecting Allow from selected sources, deny from others and the icon in the rules would be orange with the lines
allow incoming from xxx.xxx.xxx.xx
Deny incoming from all others
However this no longer works as the deny from all others is not appearing and is not being generated in the iptables by plesk.
I have a Centos 6 server with Heart Internet, who yesterday had an issue with the issue and once back online have been struggling til now getting the mysql service working correctly again and have now refused to provide any further support and redirected me here.

I've gotten to point 4. "~# mysqldump -uadmin -p`cat /etc/psa/.psa.shadow` -A | sed '1iSET FOREIGN_KEY_CHECKS = 0;' > /root/dumpall.sql" however it's saying "got error: 145: table './avenue141_dabs/av_options' is marked as crashed and should be repaired when using LOCK TABLES and any attempts made to get into the DB to repair is giving me "error: 1045: Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)
This issue is urgent as we have a few websites on this server which use mysql databases for their website.
I would like to install APCu (Alternative PHP Cache) & ZendOptimizer on plesk v12, I just wanted to know if there is any instructions for installing it correctly in a manner that will not cause issues with plesk updates.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI had a small question about ODBC. I created a new connection to a MySQL database with the 'ODBC Data Source Administrator' on my Win 2008 / IIS 7 webserver.
In this administration panel the ODBC data source works just fine. When I fill in the required values I receive the list of available databases and pressing the "test" button results in a successful connection.
But when I want to use this connection in other software, a C++ application and a PHP application, they supply me with errors "Couldn't connect to database", etc.
So the ODBC connection is correct (so are the credentials in the software 100% sure of that), but software can't use the connection. Because the software worked perfectly on an older server I think I'm missing out on some sort of setting which enables applications to use the connection (or something like that).
I have suPHP installed in FastCGI mode. PHP5 is my default installation but I have it setup so that PHP4 can also run. At least that is my intention.
I have PHP5 working without a problem.
PHP4 is loading if I add the directinf x-httpd-php4 .php into my .htaccess file.
HOWEVER: PHP (via phpinfo) is trying to load the config file from /usr/local/etc/php5/cgi/php.ini when it should be from ....php4/cgi/php.ini
Where do I go to fix this? Or is there a second directive that I need to load in the .htaccess file?
Also... In either php5 or php4, if I put a php.ini file into a directory, it is suppose to load that one. However, it is not doing this either.
I'm not even really sure if rewrite is what I need, but basically I have an alias/proxy setup on apache which points mysite.com/itunes/ to mysite2.com/pr/itunes/. My script php executes on the second server, so it assumes that the address should be mysite.com/pr/itunes/. I need to rewrite this to mysite.com/itunes. Here's my code:

My company and I are currently discovering Plesk on a CentOS 6.6 based system. We are migrating from an old system on which FTP usernames could hold uppercase letters, which apparently is not the case in Plesk 11 (or is it because of CentOS?).
Anyway, as we can't change these FTP account names, I was thinking about creating a rule with mod_rewrite in the proftpd.conf file.
So the question is: how can I reinstall/reconfigure proftpd with this module activated? I don't even know where to find the corresponding package (which repo, correct version, etc...)
After a few years with apache 2.2 I decided to try apache 2.4 Both are running on windows 7. I had to recompile my modules against the new api, but that was succesful. I am now confronted that the rewrite rule for one of my locations :

After installing a separate SSL to domain.com and www.domain.com, for some reason host.domain.com, which is the subdomain for plesk login, isn't being secured by FTP when choosing "Secure Plesk" after choosing the correct SSL. No error occurs, nor does the dashboard respond to it. It stays the same and unsecured. I tried rebooting server, restart services, etc.

I am unable to connect over TLS/SSL using my FTP client. I have ports 989 & 990 enabled in my server's firewall. My FTP client is attempting connection on port 990, but times out waiting for the server to respond. I also tried adding "TLSProtocol TLSv1" or "TLSProtocol SSLv3" to /etc/proftpd.conf, but get the same result, except that a non-TLS/SSL connection attempt then returns "server closed the connection".
Recently I configured parallels 12.x on Linode Cloud with cent OS. Using DNS Settings I added 'A' record (abc.example.com) as abc and point to IP. But the record is not propagated after 24-48hrs.

How can solve to Alias work with domain.tld format?
I have a weird problem happening to only few of my domains. From web browser, any of URL below is working fine:
webmail.domain.com
ftp.domain.com (it will open up a new window asking for login info)
domain.com:8443 (it will redirect to control panel login page)
However, URL below not working:
www.domain.com
domain.com
I have checked the DNS entries, all looks alright. I even initiate DNS test from dnsgoodies.com and it return fine.
I have two servers with the exact same configuration, besides from the version of CentOS that they were running when I deployed Plesk using the autoinstall script. My first server was running CentOS 6.5 during Plesk installation. My second server was running CentOS 6.6. No 3rd part repos were installed before Plesk.
On the first server everything is fine, but on the second server I have issues with FTP. I have tried applying this fix: [URL] ....
Before applying the fix I got 530 Login incorrect when trying to connect to FTP. After applying the fix and restarting the entire server I got 550 /: permission denied
I running magento on plesk 12 and trying to configure nginx, but only home page is working and all other pages are not working with error 404.

Creating of user is working fine only subscription don't want work and we don't know why we tried many things and none of it works.
I have set up a CentoS 6 & Plesk 12.0.18 server as master and a reseller. I enabled the shared IP under IP address in the tools section.
I then added a customer and domain. then I added reseller with domain and 2 customers with domain under that. I changed the nameservers at registrar to the IP of the new server. When I use the control panel and under each domain I use the PREVIEW and each domain shows the index.html file I uploaded. When I choose OPEN it opens a new window to the domains address and I get webpage not found. And yes it has been almost 36 hours since the registrar change in case you are wondering.
Is there a setting I am missing or is the server set up wrong? Why wont it show the webpages as it does in the previews?
We just upgraded from Plesk 10.4.4 to 11.5.30 and can't seem to get FTPS to work.
I presume it should be running on port 990, but the server is not listening on that port (only 21 for FTP).

I have a VPS on Webfusion which auto upgraded last night to Plesk 11.5.30 #45. However, I used to have the domain registrar, 123-reg manage my DNS & now since the upgrade I've lost access to all emails & ftp access but the domains still work ok.
whether I should delete all DNS records at 123-reg & point to my VPS now? The DNS parameters in Plesk appear to be different to 123-reg. I
