I use Windows Plesk v 11.5.30 with Mailenable Standard Edition 7.0 version. In mailenable site i saw a new version of Mailenable standard version (7.5.1). URL...Can i download and update Mailenable version of my Windows PLesk? If i made this change and have problem can i do downgrande later?
I added users directly to mailenable (using their migration utility to import from an old mail server which plesk does not support). The domains exist in plesk but not the individual email users/mailboxes.
Now I want to add those email users to plesk but it doesn't let (not surprisingly), when I try to add a user it returns an error: "Unable to update the mail account properties:mailmng failed: MEAOPO.Mailbox.AddMailbox failed"
My question is: How can I add the users that already exist in MailEnable to the plesk configuration? (i.e. ignore the error and add the user to the plesk database, or even better yet if plesk can read the configuration and add all users)
Tthe plesk kb articles suggest running mchk.exe but that is designed to take users from plesk and add them to mailenable, I need the reverse).
Is there a way to configure the mailing lists created with Plesk (using MailEnable 6.5) using Plesk or another web interface like it is possible with mailman under Linux?
It is not very convenient to be required to do such stuff via RDP (and so manual by me for every customer)...
I'm sure there is an easy answer to this, and i'm probably being a little lazy, but the google searches i did didn't really help.
As I need to have windows hosting, apart from the price, is there any difference between setting up the server with windows 2003 standard edition and web edition?
I want to run MS SQL and My sql databases, run asp, .Net 2 and php on the server.
I'd also want to connect with RDP which i'm assuming is fine.
Most of the searches seem to talk about the fact that you can't set up active directory,or making it a domain controller but not much else.
I see most of the providers offering Windows 2003 STD license $20-$30 per month. I wonder how is that done, do they buy licenses in bulk and then lease them monthly basis or there is an agreement with Microsoft. I have a few linux boxes colocated and would like to procure Windows licenses on my own. Also how to go for licenses for VPS server?
Im trying to setup FTP on Windows 2003 Standard. Multiple people will need access, the problem Im having is how do I make it to where certain ftp accounts only have access to certain folders and certain ftp accounts have access to the whole root directory of that folder?
For instance under websitefolder you have a folder called bobsfolder. I want bob to login and just be "jailed" to bobsfolder, but when websitefolderadmin logs in they have access to the root of websitefolder and all its subfolders.
Posted this as an add-on to another question I had in the Tech forum, had no reply, perhaps I posted in the wrong forum. Posting here instead:
I noticed MS has lifted some of the restriction concerning the Web Server edition, it's like half the price of Standard.
I'm mainly going to be hosting a couple of separate web sites, run ASP.Net and PHP, along with some database servers (currently considering SQL Server Express and MySQL).
Email server is being considered, though our load isn't too great, it's just for a couple of friends and myself. We're also intending to run game servers off it (Counter-Strike Source, Call of Duty series, etc.) on occasions.
Would the Web Server edition suffice for these? Or is it still technically limited/has license restrictions, and I will need at least the standard edition?
I may also intend to serve streaming windows Media files.
I am going to buy my own server and colocate this at a data center. This server is going to only host one website with Mysql as backend database. I notice there are 3 different Windows 2003 server, Web, Standard and Enterprise. I am leaning toward the Standard version. Can I use Window 2003 Standard Edition to run my the web server?
I've got MSSQL 2005 Enterprise running on Windows 2003 Standard R2 x64. The server has 12GB RAM.
Now, I've been trying to find some way to monitor how much RAM MSSQL takes up, but found two conflicting things.
One source says that MSSQL 2005 Enterprise can only use up to 4GB RAM on Windows Standard R2 x64. Another says Microsoft changed this to 32GB for Windows Standard R2 x64 only (i.e. not x86).
Could anyone confirm either of these? I'd find out myself if I knew how I could see how much it's using (it only shows 90mb in taskmanager).
I have been playing around with different virtualization platforms:
- OpenVZ (newer kernels do not support hard-cpu limits for whatever reason)
- Xen Server
- Windows Hyper-V
- Linux KVM
However, none of them seem to be able to stablish HARD limits on resources for a virtual machine. Or am I missing something?
HyperVM supposedly has hard-limits because they use OpenVZ older kernels, right? -- I have not tried Parallels Containers do they have hard-limits enforced?
I have a script which checks the mailboxes of all clients to notify them when they're reaching capacity.
This does so by checking the psa database for their set limit and matching that to the maildirsize file within the user's Maildir directory.
After upgrading, though, my SQL query no longer works - it was:
Code: SELECT clients.email as owner_email, domains.id, domains.name, Limits.value AS domain_quota, mail.mail_name, mail.mbox_quota from Limits, clients, domains, mail WHERE mail.postbox='true' AND limit_name = 'mbox_quota' AND domains.limits_id = Limits.id AND mail.dom_id = domains.id AND clients.id = domains.cl_id ORDER BY domains.name ASC
However, on closer inspection, all values in the domains table for limit_id are NULL.
Has this changed in 11.5? Is there an alternative way to quickly get all limits for domains?
With the standard-DNS-Layout every customer has an MX-entry like MX 10 mail.customerdomainexample.com
The problem is, that inbound mailservers get a TLS warning, because the mailhostname does not match mail.companydomainexample.com, which is the domain with a valid SSL-Certificate pointing to the same server.
Wouldn't it make sense to change the default template to mail.companydomainexample.com since it is the same machine anyway?
How do you reset the outgoing mail limits report?I have been doing some testing and I don't want the report to show that some of my domains are over their limits.
-----Original Message----- From: Provider Co. [mailto:<email>] Sent: <date> To: <customer name> Subject: Notification: Resource limits exceeded by reseller account.
The <account name> account is approaching or already exceeded the limits:However, no exceeded or close to exceeded resources were found. This is in the KB, but no date is on it. Has this been fixed?URL...
For some reason one of my customers email accounts seems to have been hacked. My admin account continues to say that the customer has reach over the 30 emails per hour limit. This is the email error:
following customers' domains, mailboxes and subscriptions are reached their limits for outgoing emails for the period:>From Dec/13/2014 05:47. To Dec/ 13/ 2014 06:47
Subscriptions customerdomain.com, the limit is 100 messages per hour 336 attempt(s) to exceed limits from Dec/13/2014 04:31 to Dec/13/2014 05:47
So far it has sent over 5,000 attempted in the past few hours. The customer used gmail to send from domain before, so I've changed their gmail email password. I've also changed the main email password, and the plesk username and password login for the customer. It still continues
URL....We are running Plesk 12 on a Linux VPS where we have multiple domains running.Multiple of these domains should redirect from www. domain name. ext to https://ext.domainname.com.This is configured with the Domain forwarding in Plesk, with hosting type Forwarding. But as described in the 2 links provided above, whenever you go to https://www.domain.ext, it does not redirect, and actually shows a Security error, since the domain doesn't have the SSL-certificate installed (because it should redirect to the https://ext.domainname.com).
Clearly we don't want visitors on the website to receive the (incorrect) Security error, and we want all traffic to http(s)://www.domain.ext to be redirected to the appropriate subdomains. allows us to redirect both the https/http connections to the domains, without forcing us to have the domains have a Website hosting add redirect them manually with (for example) .htaccess.
run a command on /var/git to set rights and onwer without being cautious enough.I have run chown git:git .* -R which did not only run direction downwards the tree but upwards as well :-(
Any way to reset permissions and ownership for the directories back to standard?I tried /usr/local/psa/bin/repair already. Did lot of the fixes, but not all is in line yet.
