Plesk 11.x / Linux :: Enable Server-wide Compression Using Deflate
Aug 19, 2012
I have been trying to enable server-wide compression using deflate. My server is running a fresh install of plesk panel 11 installed over a fresh centos 6 64. The configs and settings (aside from files I mention) have not been changed at all from default.
I have created a new file in /etc/httpf/conf.d/deflate.conf This file is being included when Apache is restarted, so that's definitely working and the html doc compresses. But not matter what I do (I have tried every combination Google would find) css and js files will not compress. At my previous workplace we also used a Plesk server and nobody could ever get compression working there either.
Just in the process of upgrading to new box Plesk 12 (Ubuntu 14.04LTS). ON the previous (plesk 10) I was able to disable ftp services by editing /etc/xinetd.d/ftp_psa - this doesn't seem to be an option now. How to do this on plesk 12?
Does it make sense to enable zlib compression if eAccelerator is already installed? I'm running PHP 5.2.1 (FastCGI) with lighttpd 1.4.13 and eAccelerator 0.9.5. Also, here's a more general question. Since I manually compiled these programs, how would I go about updating them with the source files? Would I just repeat the normal installation process with the new source files?
I set multiple mail servers (eg media-26.com) in the black list of server-wide mail settings but i still get spams from these mail servers..does it work properly?
I've tried to enable https on a domain /server: vpn, debian 6.0.10, plesk 12.0.18/ but all I receive is a 403 forbidden error. I can't find any other related option, what could be the problem?
for a server-wide anti-spam solution I can implement on a Linux server. The mail queues are constantly getting backlogged with thousands of messages which bring the servers to a crawl. There are really two issues the solution needs to address.
1) Spam 2) Spam sent to other people that have the from address forged with our clients' email addresses.
We have spam assassin installed for individuals to use, but there's got to be some sort of solution that can clear out the vast majority of the junk before it even gets to the queue.
It probably goes without saying, but the solution needs to be open-source or have a very inexpensive license.
I have installed the nginx on my server and want to activate it for all my domains, to do this, i have to do it manually for each domains. But there should be an easier way. Apache uses too much ram.
We have many hundreds of domains on our Plesk 11.5 server (Linux) but many of them do not have SSL support enabled. Any script that would enable it for all domains and subdomains on our server, to save the tedious time of manually checking every domain?
I'm using on virtual machine the last version of PLESK 11.5.3 update #42 and UBUNTU 12.04.4 LTS provide by a main Italian ISP, the MySQL version is 5.5.35-0ubuntu0.12.04.2.I'm trying to enable the local-infile option in the /etc/mysql/my.cnf file:
[client] local-infile = 1
[mysqld] local-infile = 1
When I'm restarting mysql service (with command "service mysql restart") the PHP script works correctly and "SHOW GLOBAL VARIABLES" results "ON", but when server reboot or some hours by the restart the PHP script return to not work correctly and appear the standard messagge: "The used command is not allowed with this MySQL version".Maybe the problem is the start of mysql on boot? I haven't any errors in the mysql or system log!!
I just have installed plesk panel and when i get to the "Firewall" tool, then clicked on "Enable Firewall Rules Management", proftpd has stopped working properly.URLs....I have preinstalled the server 2 times, and every time i try to edit the firewall rules, proftpd got broken.
I migrated many domains to a Plesk 12 with lot of email accounts. I need to find a way to mass enable antispam and DR.Web anti virus.
How can I enable to all accounts the antispam with certain parameters Ex. 5 Points and Mark **SPAM** _SCORE_ in the subject and also enable Dr.Web for incoming email.
I have a Plesk 12 server running under Debian 7. I have a website with only mail so I disable web hosting. The problem is that the client needs to use webmail but webmail does not work (maybe because web hosting is disabled)...
I am not able to enable the recidive jail in Fail2Ban. I get the following error:
Code: Unable to switch on the selected jails: f2bmng failed: WARNING 'ignoreregex' not defined in 'Definition'. Using default one: '' ERROR No file(s) found for glob /var/log/fail2ban.log ERROR Failed during configuration: Have not found any log file for recidive jail ERROR:f2bmng:Command '['/usr/bin/fail2ban-client', 'reload', 'recidive']' returned non-zero exit status 255 ERROR:f2bmng:Failed to reload following jails due to errors in configuration: recidive . There is indeed no /var/log/fail2ban.log, but I doubt that manually creating it will correctly fix this problem.
The problem is also discussed @ [URL] ...., but in my case I have not switched on jails before switching on fail2ban. Also, the given resolution does not work.
I have an error that has arisen me for no apparent reason. This error does not allow me to enable or disable DNS domains. I searched for solutions but have not found anything.
The error message is: ERROR: Call to undefined method plesk__client__domain__dns__toggle::_postRequestRequired() (DNSToggleUIPointer.php:26)
And as I said DNS appears when activated or deactivated by the domain from Plesk panel
