I am looking for a way to prevent panel users i created to change their passwords.
When i try to edit user roles, i can check/uncheck capabilities, but nothing on user password change.
I've tried to search information on this but both Google and this forum are flooded by "users password change" regarding "Horde", which i don't use.
today i changed the password for the admin panel for a customer (username eg. mylogin). 10 minutes later he called me and said that he cannot get into his emailaccount anymore. Checked the password and saw that the emailpassword for his emailaddress (eg. mylogin@mydomain.com) is now the same from the admin panel login. So i changed the emailpassword and checked the admin panel login - it now has the emailpassword. What a mess.. I'm running Plesk Panel 11.5.30 MU47.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION
In a costumer panel have a one database MSSQL, and assign to this DB 3 users, but the tab option "Users" don't work fot his costumer and show this error:

When you click on "Forgot your password?" in Plesk for Linux 11, you'll get an email like this: Dear <firstname>Your password could not be sent because it is stored in the encrypted form.To set up a new password, please follow the link: <link to reset password>
How can I change that? It's a bit sparse and it doesn't even include a email signature with the company name.
I have set the values for outgoing mail control low enough to catch the problems without affecting all but one of my clients. I have given him increased limits on certain of his mailboxes.
However when he wants to modify the mailbox, for example change the password he gets the following error.
The maximum number of outgoing email messages (in a pink box)
"The value must be in the range 0..50. Only the Plesk administrator can adjust this setting."
He cannot change the password for this mailbox.
Is there anyway of setting a custom limit on an account and also allow the client to retain the ability to reset his own password.
So, the thing is that I have Parallels Plesk 12 installed on my server running on Ubuntu 14.04. The webmail we are using is roundcube and it has a plugin that allows users to change their passwords. Theoretically the plugin connects to psa database using poppassd. Aaand it almost works, because when you try to change the password and you enter the current password it detects it as good, but it tries to apply the new password it fails.I found this info but it didn't worked for me: URL....
On the other hand, when I open the "Filters" tab i get an "Unable to connect to sieve server".

I have a Windows VPS with Plesk panel. Windows Server 2008 R2 with plesk panel version 11.5.30.
I tried to change the default plesk panel port (8443) to eg (1234) without any success.
The steps i followed are the following:
1) Firewall -> Inbound rule -> allow for port 1234
2) Firewall, Disable inbound rule for port 8443
3) IIS, PleskControlPanel, Bindings: changed binding from 8443 to 1234.
Now i type on browser: [URL] .... and while its loading after some seconds redirects me to [URL] ...
is there any way to prevent users to run phpproxy or any proxy script on server (server is Linux / whm )?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a client on a dedicated IP, today we needed to downgrade the web hosting plan. As the web hosting plan puts users on a default shared IP, this plan change also changed the dedicated IP to the shared one causing some propagation issues for a small period of time.
I have contacted WHMCS about this asking if they had a way of changing the clients plan but keeping the IP address intact as this could lead to some very undesirable outcomes. They explained that it is not their fault and to contact Parallels.
I know I can change the plan directly in Plesk however by initiating the plan change via WHMCS, everything is automated.
I use CentOS 5.5, Plesk 12 and Atmail. When I log in to

by browser and send emails to others, my home computer IP is attached to emails as X-Origin. I even used Thunderbird to send emails and same issue happens.
How can I prevent Qmail or (Atmail) to add my home computer IP to X-Origin? I am even OK if the server IP is attached to emails rather than home IP.
We set up a Plesk 12 server for web hosting purposes only.
All mail-related services, exception from "smtp server" and "Plesk milter" are disabled or uninstalled.
For specific domains, we want to prevent the useage of the php mail function with "localhost" to avoid problems with outgoing spam by unsecured scripts. Instead, we want to force webmasters to use external smtp servers.
Is there any directive or setting on domain-level that we allow for this limitation?
How to change the Password of my FTP?
I know how to change the pwd. of cPanel, but I don't know how to change the pwd. of FTP?
I have a Plesk 12 server running that works great. But the problem is that whenever one of my shared hosting customers changes something out a domain or subdomain, all the other sites on the server give a 502 error.
The reason why is clear to me: apache is reloading its config while nginx is still active, but sees apache as being down and therefor throws a 502 error.
Is there any way to prevent this from happening? Because it's happening a lot and people are sending in 'site down' reports while there's actually nothing wrong with the server or their site.
In my linux vps (cpanel based) hackers have hacked the password of the user ( website owner ) and he have uploaded some hack files(PHP) through FTP. Sometimes the hacker uploads perl/CGI scripts and sends spam mails .This happens frequently in server. How the hacker gets the users password? from some time, the plesk password is no more stored in chrome.I mean that even I delete all passwords/history etc chrome don't ask to save password...so something changed in the login page I suppose.from same time every time I connect to any plesk panel. This plan contains only one subscription in which I would like to permit users to use sftp. I'm using Plesk Panel 12 on Debian GNU/Linux 7.6 server. I created a ftp user in a subdomain (sub.domain.tld) of my domain (domain.tld).
In Tools and settings = Policy security, I allowed sftp and ftp connections. When I try to connect I get this message :
