But when I go to the client's domain I just get the "This is the LxAdmin Default Page", when I should be getting "This is the default homepage for clientdomain.com" (or similar can't remember exactly) and none of the directories work for the domain, e.g. clientdomain.com/directory, I just get a 404 not found error.
In lxadmin currently no domain is set as default domain and what would happen if I set one of the site as a default domain? What changes can be noticed and will there be any kind of effect on that particular domain?
I'm having an issue with a client site and I am not sure what to do at this point. Conversations with the host (GoDaddy) haven't led to a solution and to be honest, I'm not sure it's their issue to handle although I will be firing off an email to their domain dispute department shortly. I spoke with a couple of supervisors there and they were as baffled as I am.
Here's the situation:
When people Google the name of the client's business, it returns their site but on a different domain. The entire site is there, nothing is changed but the URL. It's like having an unintentional mirror site except that none of the forms work which is what tipped off the users that something was wrong but of course, they don't notice that they're not actually on 'www.clientsite.com' so they think it's just a form error when in actuality, they're not even at the right domain.
There is really no way for this other domain to profit from mirroring the client's site; it's just a business profile type of thing with a few forms for contact, employment applications and vendor applications. No secure info is transmitted other than perhaps the occasional email address but we're not talking a heavy volume site, it's a niche market and really not something that would be a typical target. There's no eCommerce, no subscriptions, no financial info.
I'm at a total loss. Could this happen if this other site is hosted on the same server as my client's site? Could it be an actual error of some sort or would it have to be intentional?
The whois for this bogus site leads to DomainsbyProxy.com and I'll be sending them a letter as well but I'd really appreciate any input you all might have on HOW this could happen. Should I also contact Google?
A client is trying to add a domain that was accidentally deleted when he deleted an account, but now when adding the domain again it is not adding it. The task in CP fails. If I manually try delete the domain I get this error:
[root@ns1 bin]# ./domain --remove domain.com An error occurred during domain removal: Unable to remove domains: Package with UID '8972ffa7-50fb-4dbc-8639-bf08caee425d' not found.
In mysql I see the domain is still in the db so something did not go right when the client deleted the hosting package, and now it is in limbo as the domain cannot be re-added.
I rebuilt my VPS (again) today and noticed something different. Instead of the usual "Install LxAdmin" icon in HyperVM I read "Install Kloxo."
I looked at the demo and everything looked the same. Has anyone noticed any definite differences between the two? Has anything significant changed apart from the name?
The CRON service is running and works correctly, the Scheduled tasks on the administration Plesk Panel (tools & Setting / Scheduled tasks / root user) works ok, but when a customer sets a new scheduled task from her domain panel, don't works.
server has been reachable and up constantly, but DNS is NOT working for RANDOM people. No errors anywhere, no log entries, no reasons at all. Using Bind.
All my own tests, and few of friend's tests works fine, and then for a few doesn't work at all.
For those who used it for a long time now. Do you think it is suited for critical development and professional websites. What about stability .. and scalability ?
1st. I have a domain registered at domainsite.com. 2nd. I want to be able to setup my site in LXadmin.
There are 5 ip's **.**.**.33 **.**.**.34 **.**.**.35 **.**.**.36 and one default web address, **.**.**.101
1st. I went and setup a ns1.mysite.com & ns2.mysite.com 2nd. I went to my registrar and setup custom nameservers with the above ns's and I used the first 2 ip's.
All I can see is the apache of the default "root" I can login through ftp and see the actual files though.
I have a little offer if someone can help me. If you can help me get this working I can set you up with space 5gigs or w/e. I am totally confused, I almost feel like cancelling this account.
If anyone knows about HyperVM & LXadmin then let me know and I would love your help. You must be very serious and truthful because I am going to provide you with logins and stuff to help me....
Please help if you can. Oh and its VPS, 40 gig & 600 gig bandwidth.
I noticed, that FTP settings looks there quite.... strange.
I created users (let's say his name is 'usr' with few domains: domain1.com, domain2.com).
I can't just login to ftp using username usr and his pass - I need to create FTP users for all domai names - so, I can't manage more domainnames within one session. It is normal, or maybe I made something wrong - if so, how to fix that.
I just moved from shared to vps and I bought a managed vps with lxadmin. I have no idea how to access my lxadmin. All I was given was the ip of the vps
Virtuozzo based VPS comes with no control panel. I am wondering if it is easy to install Lxadmin or not? and is it all the same as lxadmin preinstalled by providers for operating?
I used a vps for several months with lxadmin, can deal with lxadmin well. so still want to have it.
Does any one know of any link/url to a working demo of LxAdmin? Because LxLabs demo is always out of order I wanted to give LxAdmin a trial before ordering a Xen VPS from VPSLink. It irritates me that LxAdmin demo is never working
I recently purchased a VPS and was wondering which control panel I should ask my provider to install. Both are free, but I was wondering which one you guys preferred?
Also, which one uses less system resources (like RAM, etc)?
I have a VPS with LXADMIN Hostinabox single server and want to use this VPS as a secondary/slave DNS server. My primary/master DNS is hosted elsewhere.
Does the LXADMIN Hostinanox interface facilitate the ability to setup the secondary zone?
which is better, LXAdmin or DirectAdmin? I have decided to sign up with world-of-computing.com. They have a promo code for free DirectAdmin. Should I go for it or use the 25%off promo code? The virtualization technology used is OpenVZ.
Does anyone have any experience with them? I had chatted with a Sales Rep for 45 minutes and he has been really helpful. But I know that support for sales and service is entirely different.
Also which OS should I go for (CentOS4/CentOS5/Fedora7/Debian4/Gentoo4/OpenSuse 10/Ubuntu 8.04)?
How do I uninstall LXAdmin, I got a complete empty VPS with no control panel with it, using Virtuzzo so I decided to install LXAdmin but no longer want it can someone please tell me how I would uninstall it now?
Anyone know the correct way to do this? I've been on here looking at a few threads and on lxlabs forum but my solution can't be resolved. I'm sure its something easy.
Here goes,
I'm migrating from an lxadmin VPS to another lxadmin VPS.
The problem I have is that my IP's for the HOME>DNS TEMPLATE and HOME>IP ADDRESSES are the same as my old VPS.
Now I can change the IP in the DNS template, however under HOME>DNS TEMPLAES>CREATE NEW it doesn't have my NEW VPS IP's listed in the drop-down menu. I read somewhere in an LxAdmin tutorial to update LxAdmin to get your current IP's assoicated with your new VPS. I did this and nothing changed.
In addition to the DNS Templates not being correct, In HOME>IP ADDRESSES it also lists the same OLD VPS IP's. Saw a thread in LxLabs forum with someone that had the same problem. Their help stated to just change the IP ADDRESS to your new one. I would do that but there is no option to allow me to ADD a new IP. Again i'm in HOME>IP ADDRESSES here.
