I have noticed that hotmail will only accept HTML message from any of my servers.
Is it me or is Hotmail really a webhosters night mare.
I can send messages to Yahoo, gmail and others proviers, but hotmail doesn't accept any message comes from my host. not in inbox or junkmail.
I have VPS (linux cPnel) i'm using 4 nameservers.
It appears that MSN / Hotmail have recently began blocking an awful lot of servers I manage. Several of them (for a company I work for) are in a few blacklists however a number of the IP addresses I manage are 100% clean.
Anyone know of something MSN/Hotmail recently began enforcing?
The blocks began at around 6 PM EST on Thursday of last week.
The error message is as follows:
Your e-mail was rejected for policy reasons on this
gateway. Reasons for rejection may be related to content such as obscene
language, graphics, or spam-like characteristics (or) other reputation
problems. For sender troubleshooting information, please go to

I feel like a pawn for asking this on WHT but from what I can see
it's fairly widespread.
The domains in question do have basic SPF implemented as well.
not limited to a contact at hotmail / msn that would enjoy a phonebeating.
My webserver treat ALL files with html tags inside as html files, e.g. text files or EVEN files without extension.
How to only allow .htm, .html files?
I've deactivated temporary mime magic, I also tried with some RemoveHandler, AddType lines but nothing
I have just noticed that for several days I'm constantly receiving these infos in /var/log/messages. I haven't done anything that would invoke them. How can I disable these messages? Are they anything to worry about?

how to accept outgoing curl connections?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've seen this header being sent by a small number of visitors. I suppose it's due to some personal antivirus or firewall, as Norton Internet Security strikes out the Accept-Encoding header too (in a different fashion though - it asterisks them out).

What file do I undo in order to create a new password? I don't know the exact steps I'm supposed to take. I don't think this is a MySQL issue, but a server issue, right?
I used to create databases and tables on my regular computer and left off the password altogether while I was practicing. Now I'm taking steps to do it on the actual server, and have run across this problem.

I have recently switched from Ubuntu to Mint because I would like to enjoy out of the box functionality. I installed Apache, PHP and Mysql. When I go to localhost, the page displays correctly indicating that the server is functioning. In /var/www/html I created devPages. In devPages I created a symlink to a directory in my home directory where I keep all of my html/php files.
When I point my browser to http://localhost/devPages/1/ I get "You don't have permission to access /devPages/1/ on this server". This appears to be a permissions/ownership issue. I don't want to change the permissions for the directory or files in the home directory because they are set to work properly on my production server. Is there a way to get apache to accept files in my home directory?
I have set owner and group for devPages and the symlink to www-data. Set permissions to 755 for devPages.
By the way, under Ubuntu, I have always used a symlink and it always worked without any issues.
Why is this so hard to find? I've been searching for hours. I want a ASP-enabled host that do not charge me yearly, but monthly or quarterly, within acceptable price range. Basic features, really. ASP + MySQL.
The trubbles comes when i try to check out. Godaddy for instance. Trying to finish my order, but they still want my creditcard information (dont use visa, master or amex).
EasyCGI was very close. They accept true paypal-payment, but only on a yearly basis.
Do anyone know why this is so hard for them? And/or do you know any host that fit the requirements?

1. Are there any restrictions or special problems with hosting domains as a function of whether they are a ".com" versus a ".us" domain?
2. Are there any differences or problems when hosting domains which have index files which are htm versus html?
For these items, are there good sources for detailed explanations?
I want my server looking and open index.html first and after index.php, I mean if have both index.html and index.php in a folder, the index.html will be open by default .
I know it name: DirectoryIndex directive ..
PHP 5.2.5 / Apache 2.2 / suPHP enabled
index2.html shows "it works" but index.php does not, shows up blank ....
I have several websites running on Linux hosting with cPanel, that were developed as static .html files, where for ease of maintenance (use of includes) and future improvements I want the pages treated as .php. On one server I use, I just put:
AddHandler application/x-httpd-php .html .shtml
into the .htaccess file and the pages were treated as .php, exactly what I wanted.
The other sites are on a cPanel reseller account at iVhosting.com. When I tried this there, it didn't work. I tried some other ideas suggested by Google, which resulted in the .php files being downloaded as text files. I contacted iVhosting support, who stated: "you will not be able to do this on our server since we use phpsuexec/suphp for more security. PHP pages have to have .php extension."
So what can I do? I can't rename the pages all to .php because this would break incoming links and destroy the page's PR. Creating a permanent redirect for each page to the same name with .php extension would create a very large .htaccess and be extremely tedious to do.
I want to use php code in .html extension files. I tried to accomplish this through a .htaccess file, but that did not work out. I tried to add a handler through cpanel, but it does not parse the code in the .html file. I renamed the index file to index.php and works fine.
I would like to keep the .html extension.
I tried several Handlers through Cpanel which all failed to work.
Tried: AddHandler application/x-httpd-php .php .html and AddType application/x-httpd-php .php .html (with and without application/) and AddHandler server-parsed .html
