VPSville VS HostChum
Feb 9, 2009I need to move a VPS server from other host , i was looking for offers and i can`t chose between VPSVille and hostChum.
I`m looking in cPanel 3 or cPanel 4 from VPSVille UK data center (they have promotion 25% off recurring)
and from the other hand i`m thinking about Ultimate plan from hostchum and maybe upgraded with 512MB of ram plus.
What will you chose between those to?
VPSVille - Downtime
Oct 19, 2009Moved to them recently from Wiredtree as my clients were asking for a uk-based server. I am a small time host, mainly to friends and family.
I've had more downtime in a week with VPS Ville than I ever had with Wiredtree.
How About The Support Of VPSVille.com
Apr 2, 2009they say they have 24x7 support,but I have ticket sumbited on 3/10/2009 on their controlpanel,until now,nobody reply,I don't know why.

Feb 13, 2009I have order VPS from VPSVille UK base data center CPanel 4 VPS plan. i have old VPS server with Cpanel too and i have try to transfer few Accounts from the old one to the new vps from VPSVille.
The sites hosted on the old server are working fine with NO ERRORS OR PROBLEMS!
Some sites have transfered and all work fine like mySQL, mail, viewing images, flash etc. But some of the sites have some errors like [url]can`t connect to database i have transfer the site automatically from WHM transfers option and manyaly creating full backup and then restoring to the new server and all the time i get the same message, the problem is not just with joomla i have problem with [url]forum PHPBB3 forum i have already transfered joomla and phpbb3 site from the old to the new server ( romanticni.com.mk and forum.romanticni.com.mk ) and all works fine on but with the user tehnolog mysql do not work like they should i have.
Additionally i have transfer [url]and on the user account paffi i can`t view any hosted image i have try to upload new images from my HDD not and i can`t view them too, Mysql is working on paffi but i cant view images. when i try to open any image i get this screen: [url]for example
User accounts paffi and tahnolog are hosted on the same old VPS and the bout f them work fine there.
I have try to contact VPSVille support and they just escape from helping me saying like i need to contact my old host because my sites do not work, i need to contact webmaster etc, etc.
VPSville Impressions After 4 Days
Oct 7, 2008We moved our hosting from Knownhost to VPSville approximately over the weekend and here are the initial impressions of VPSville. By the way, Knownhost support is great, the best, and we had no problems with them, just wanted to get the server out of the US.
We decided to try out VPSville based on the few reviews on this site and taking on their supposedly 'Stellar 24/7' support and 'Satisfaction guarantee' as promised on their website.
The few support tickets initiated so far were either answered very late (up to several days) to one ticket not having been answered at all.
The answers themselves were not very satisfactory and very incomplete, and kept recommending irrelevant 'upgrades', instead of trying to tackle the problem. I solved one ticket issue on my own, but got the reply that basically a tiny server (HIB 1 - 128MB guaranteed RAM with 4x Xeon processor) is 'too tiny' to even support attaching e-mail attachments larger than 2MB via Roundcube, so that I should 'upgrade' to HIB2 (256MB RAM guaranteed). Now, having used Roundcube on a VPS with 128MB RAM and having researched the issue with Roundcube, I know that it has to do with modifying configuration files to reset the maximum upload limit, etc. All I asked was for was the easiest way to go about doing it, since they are the 'experts' and this is the first time using an HIB LXAdmin for me.
Regarding the servers themselves, the setup was instant and I have no problems with the servers, very satisfied.
It's just the support that makes me quite skeptical. I really think that either the VPSville support are manned by nameless non-technicians or their priority is to have their customers upgrade over every issue, instead of helping to tackle the problem.
VPSVille One Month Review
Nov 24, 2008I signed up for VPSVille about a month ago after the big problem they had with data loss, and for the price I'm paying for the VPS I think I'm getting a good deal. I'm on their basic VPS plan which is 128mb RAM, something like 5-10gb storage, and 200gb transfer. Using a WHT coupon this comes out to $10.
Why I chose them:
1) E-mail INTERAC payments - I don't use credit cards and PayPal shafts us Canadians with long bank transfer times. I can pay right out of my bank instantly. They seem to be the only host I've seen that does this.
2) Based in Canada. I make it a rule to do my hosting in the same country I reside.
3) Price. I only needed something to run my DNS and a temporary status page for my site while I relocate my colo gear. Plus I'm cheap.
Their web based control panel is pretty neat. I was able to use it to disable iptables after the default ruleset I enabled blocked me. It also appears to offer OS re-install in it too. Right now I'm running HTTP, DNS, Ventrilo server for my co-workers, and a tracker/server on the KDX protocol. Currently handles 30-50 unique connections average at all times of the day. No downtime at all, server load always seems to be zero. I've only contacted support once, and it was to ask if I could manually RPM a bunch of dev packages or if it was a template that had to be applied to the VPS.
I've currently got my domain www.preterhuman.net pointed to the VPS.

i open in vpsville.ca and they never answered
today my main ip is not working
i vpsville.ca support is very bad they never answered my emails and ticket
and i have question, where is my vps?
VPSVILLE Review, Very Happy Customer
Jun 13, 2008I haven't seen any reviews on these guys so I thought I'd contribute. I started an account with them last 5 or 6 weeks ago and had a great experience.
setup:
was very very fast. It literally took 2 minutes. I paid with paypal and the server was made by the time I got the setup email to my gmail account. I got a town plan mostly for my new blog.
control:
this is very important for me. I like to be able to reinstall the OS without opening a support ticket. vpsville does this very well, you can choose any Linux os you want and its setup fast!
I was also able to set the rDNS without opening a ticket. That was a nice change.
speed:
the server is fast, so fast it seems like a dedicated box sitting beside me. my ping time is only 10ms from my house (Toronto, Rogers network) so that might be part of it.
Low ping time
was very important for me as I will use it as a game server. compiling code on the server is really fast and so is yum or aptitude. apache loads pages quick. No complaints at all.
support:
really good. No complaints. I asked about lots of stuff and I always get a quick reply. I was having some problems with iptables and they gave me a firewall script that does exactly what i wanted.
