Emails Getting Blocked By Comcast/Trend Micro
Apr 15, 2009
I've recently gotten a new dedicated server and am in a bit of a bind because all emails to Comcast are blocked. I have verified that the IP is not on any RBL I can find but it does appear on the Trend Micro DUL list. This is a list that appears to not be maintained but which the wingnuts at Comcast are using. Emails to the maintainer of the list or to Comcast are auto-responded to and promptly ignored.
I'm at wits end (admittedly, not a long journey) with this. As a small provider I guess I just don't count but it is annoying as hell that there is no way to get these folks to listen. Every legitimate RBL on the planet has someone to help with issues but Trend Micro appears to not. And Comcast doesn't care about their customers getting legitimate email. Actually, I guess they just don't care period.
Has anyone else experienced this and, if so, were you able to figure out what magical incantation it takes to get through to a human who cares?

Is anyone else having a large number of Comcast email addresses being bounced back?
We found that it started two weeks ago and is spreading to other Comcast addresses that were previously working.
If you have received info on this or if it is happening to your network as well,

I have recently switched to GreenGeeks, great company and great support, but I am having a huge problem that all my clients and I are having problems with. No one can send emails to ATT, Verizon, Earthlink, Comcast, Etc. because they bounce back as being blocked. I have contacted them to unblock the IP and they do, but then a few days pass and it's blocked again. WTH? I've contacted GreenGeeks and they are aware of the problem but I really need to move on with this problem, does anyone know of any solution to do?

Is it possible to see what e-mails are blocked/prohibited by Plesk Outgoing mail control? Currently i've set a limit of 20 mails on each mailbox. Yesterday I received an e-mail that there were messages blocked. For me personally it would be good to see what the receivers email adresses are and optionally what the content of the e-mail was. This way I can find out if it was really spam or not.
If the e-mails weren't spam, is there a possibility to release and send them?

2-3 months ago I ordered 2 machines to test them out. build and ship time was told a week. ok thats fair.
two weeks go by nothing.
third week get a hold of someone due to a company "move" and my sales guy being let go my order got lost somewhere. was assured it would be shipped out on monday overnight.
Tuesday rolls around no equipment. can't get ahold of anybody.
Week passes no word. I initiate a charge back. charge back starts its motion.
month later my charge back is reversed? puzzled. Geta hold of clark at RMM. was promised up and down that he would take care of it and call me on monday.
Few days pass. no word... So I get a hold of him on IM. he's still looking into it/talking to the bank?
another week or two passes. I contact clark the other day. says he has a conference and a meeting with the bank.. sure great whatever.
To this day still no response. So what i'm out 1425? i'm going to go backto my bank again and charge back yet again or send them after RMM.
Aparently the chargeback never went through because surprise surprise RMM's bank account was zero'd out. i.e no funds to take.
RMM. I'm tired of waiting and i'm tired of the lies. Just take care of it, I hav avoided this and I will continue to tell people why its not a good idea to use your company when people ask for hardware venders and requests.

to buy some servers ( I am at full capacity) and I was wondering if RackmountMicro.com is a good place to buy equipment? I used to buy from Dell, but i have had some issues and i think that their servers are pricey.
Any good words on RackmountMicro? to get 10 Dual Core 6600.

My Plesk Panel fails to find updates for some reason. It keeps thinking that 11.5.30 Update #31 is the latest version, although the changelog (URL..) clearly shows 11.5.30 Update #40 is available.I tried to manually run the updater from command line:
Code:
C:ParallelsPleskadminin>ai.exe --select-product-id panel --select-release-current --reinstall-patch --install-component base
No success.
I tried to switch to the Early adopter releases No success. How can if fix Plesk Panel to update to the latest versions again?
My setup:
OS: Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1
Panel version: 11.5.30 Update #31 , last updated at April 10, 2014 02:32 AM

I just applied yum updates and then attempted Plesk microupdates on a Mediatemple dv4 VPS running CentOS release 5.11.
I ran the 'up' alias (as I have done many times with success):
alias up='/usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/autoinstaller --select-product-id plesk --select-release-current --reinstall-patch --install-component base'
It halted with:

We're having a meeting today with Comcast about letting them move fiber into our facility. Please do not post experiences with Comcast CABLE. I want to know your experience as other datacenters and hosts with Comcast Fiber. What do you know about their fiber and what is your experience with them in both standalone and BGP?
Reliability, latency, peering quality, etc. We are in the Houston area, where so far I have heard they are pretty good with most I have talked to, and a few negatives. At what level would you use their connection?

I have Comcast Business PRO Internet service for work purposes. I've got two web/dns servers and two mail servers, each having their own IP. These are all fine.
There had been a couple situations in the past where I would receive a "Relaying Denied" message from my PINE when sending mail out. At examination of the maillog, It's essentially telling me that these messages are being generated because of the lack of reverse DNS.
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx-Oregon.hfc.comcastbusiness.net., instead of my.domain.com.
I did a couple searches on Google, and read somewhere that Comcast is unwilling to create rDNS entries, but they've not specified, so far, whether they subscribe to PRO or residential service.
Before I spend 90 minutes on the phone with Comcast, I thought I'd see if anybody here has been successful with rDNS and Comcast PRO before. It seems to me that by denying this, it defeats the purpose of the "dedicated" service that I signed up with ...

Are there any co-location companies in California (preferably northern) that have a peering agreement directly with Comcast?
Not sure if it's peering or transit I should be asking about. Basically I'm trying to get the best path I can afford to Comcast customers in California.

it looks like FDC is taking more pain than usual in terms of network upgrade, i see the network seems unstable till 5am and even now the sessions are getting lost, once in a while like once a hr, anyway this is not the reason i am writing this, but when did comcast become transit provider, i did a trace to UK for example and i see trace going through comcast and then hopping onto tiscali/level3, it looks to me like, comcast could be trying to even out (1:1) it;s carriers so that they get all inbound for free sort of and it;s upstream selling as a transit make money there. sort of, just a surprise to me at this point

I find it very interesting that the major ISPs in and around Portland Oregon apparently do not peer with anyone in the region. For low latency you're better off choosing a provider in Seattle or San Jose as traffic always seems to be routed there and back anyways.
Why is this? Is it simply not worth their effort to setup the peering connections because most traffic will be hosted outside the region anyways?

Dallas, TX (dal01) - 70Gs
Verio - 20G (2x 10G)
Level3 - 10G
Savvis - 10G
Global Crossing - 10G
Internap - 10G
Comcast - 10G private peering Which other providers have this?

It appears Comcast is now blocking port 25. As a result, I can't sent outbound email via my dedicated server. They had me change to port 587 for my comast email account, but that doesn't solve my not being able to send outbound from my dedicated server.
Is there anythighn I can do (like change the post my mail server uses to 587) so that I can send outbound mail from my server with outlook (over Comcast connection) or am I just stuck now with using web mail?

We're absolutely unable to track or find out who is sending it or how to stop this.

All of a sudden my sites are not visible to me hosted in the same cirtex hosting account. I have verified that it wasn't spyware messing with my local computer and can view the site via a proxy. They use cpanel and there is no block visible, but there has to be something somehwere. I told them to restart and that did make the site visible until I checked in the morning, Where would a block be if this is it and is there a chance this was done by a hacker?

I am blocked by MSN. All email messages directed to any @hotmail.com address is rejected, here a typical message:
A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:
name@hotmail.com
SMTP error from remote mail server after MAIL FROM:<user@mydomain.com> SIZE=1802:
host mx3.hotmail.com [65.54.244.200]: 550 Your e-mail was rejected for policy reasons on this gateway. Reasons for rejection may be related to content such as obscene language, graphics, or spam-like characteristics (or) other reputation problems.
I have never spammed nor sent similar content as that listed above.
My host provider says they are contacting MSN for an explantion, but time is running and I need to find a solution to this, because I have some customers (hosted in my server) which need to answer to @hotmailers prospects on their product/services.

I need to block a specific IP:
93.6.224.242
It adds fine when I do:
iptables -A INPUT -s 93.6.224.242 -j DROP
However, the IP is still accessing files and pages on the site according to Apache:
When I ban other IP's they are blocked from accessing anything on the server (e.g. it wouldn't even reach Apache level because of firewall), but this IP just isn't banning properly.

We just got a new windows server and didnt put an antivirus or configure windows firewall, while setting up for the 1st two months.
our IP address has been blocked twice now by this company, on saturday, released on monday and blocked again on tuesday.
[url]
we applied to have it removed which they did and blocked it again, they claim we were spamming, which we never did
We have installed mcafee and setup windows firewall.
