i recently changed host and after i changed host, i am unable to send emails to hotmail from my mail server. Gmail and yahoo are fine.
The error message from Hotmail:
SMTP error from remote mail server after MAIL FROM:<webmaster@joinmo.com> SIZE=3494:
host mx3.hotmail.com [65.54.244.200]: 550 Your e-mail was rejected for policy reasons on this gateway. Reasons for rejection may be related to content with spam-like characteristics or IP/domain reputation problems. If you are not an e-mail/network admin please contact your E-mail/Internet Service Provider for help. For e-mail delivery information, please go to [url]
I also ran a dnsreport and heres the result

I have contacted microsoft but really not sure when they will give me a reply .. meanwhile, if there is any solution to my problem, it would be greatly appreciated.

Gmail users are fine.
Two days ago, Yahoo and hotmail users were receiving emails in the Junk folder. I thought this was due to the Reverse DNS settings not being set. So, I contacted Rus from cheapVPS and asked him to enable the Reverse DNS setting after I entered it in the Hyper VM panel, and he kindly did it.
Unfortunately, since the Reverse DNS setting was entered, Yahoo and Hotmail users stopped receiving mails from my site. Gmail users never faced any problem.
the logs (from maillog) are as follows:

We're having a meeting today with Comcast about letting them move fiber into our facility. Please do not post experiences with Comcast CABLE. I want to know your experience as other datacenters and hosts with Comcast Fiber. What do you know about their fiber and what is your experience with them in both standalone and BGP?
Reliability, latency, peering quality, etc. We are in the Houston area, where so far I have heard they are pretty good with most I have talked to, and a few negatives. At what level would you use their connection?

I have Comcast Business PRO Internet service for work purposes. I've got two web/dns servers and two mail servers, each having their own IP. These are all fine.
There had been a couple situations in the past where I would receive a "Relaying Denied" message from my PINE when sending mail out. At examination of the maillog, It's essentially telling me that these messages are being generated because of the lack of reverse DNS.
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx-Oregon.hfc.comcastbusiness.net., instead of my.domain.com.
I did a couple searches on Google, and read somewhere that Comcast is unwilling to create rDNS entries, but they've not specified, so far, whether they subscribe to PRO or residential service.
Before I spend 90 minutes on the phone with Comcast, I thought I'd see if anybody here has been successful with rDNS and Comcast PRO before. It seems to me that by denying this, it defeats the purpose of the "dedicated" service that I signed up with ...

Are there any co-location companies in California (preferably northern) that have a peering agreement directly with Comcast?
Not sure if it's peering or transit I should be asking about. Basically I'm trying to get the best path I can afford to Comcast customers in California.

it looks like FDC is taking more pain than usual in terms of network upgrade, i see the network seems unstable till 5am and even now the sessions are getting lost, once in a while like once a hr, anyway this is not the reason i am writing this, but when did comcast become transit provider, i did a trace to UK for example and i see trace going through comcast and then hopping onto tiscali/level3, it looks to me like, comcast could be trying to even out (1:1) it;s carriers so that they get all inbound for free sort of and it;s upstream selling as a transit make money there. sort of, just a surprise to me at this point

I find it very interesting that the major ISPs in and around Portland Oregon apparently do not peer with anyone in the region. For low latency you're better off choosing a provider in Seattle or San Jose as traffic always seems to be routed there and back anyways.
Why is this? Is it simply not worth their effort to setup the peering connections because most traffic will be hosted outside the region anyways?

Is anyone else having a large number of Comcast email addresses being bounced back?
We found that it started two weeks ago and is spreading to other Comcast addresses that were previously working.
If you have received info on this or if it is happening to your network as well,

I've recently gotten a new dedicated server and am in a bit of a bind because all emails to Comcast are blocked. I have verified that the IP is not on any RBL I can find but it does appear on the Trend Micro DUL list. This is a list that appears to not be maintained but which the wingnuts at Comcast are using. Emails to the maintainer of the list or to Comcast are auto-responded to and promptly ignored.
I'm at wits end (admittedly, not a long journey) with this. As a small provider I guess I just don't count but it is annoying as hell that there is no way to get these folks to listen. Every legitimate RBL on the planet has someone to help with issues but Trend Micro appears to not. And Comcast doesn't care about their customers getting legitimate email. Actually, I guess they just don't care period.
Has anyone else experienced this and, if so, were you able to figure out what magical incantation it takes to get through to a human who cares?

It appears Comcast is now blocking port 25. As a result, I can't sent outbound email via my dedicated server. They had me change to port 587 for my comast email account, but that doesn't solve my not being able to send outbound from my dedicated server.
Is there anythighn I can do (like change the post my mail server uses to 587) so that I can send outbound mail from my server with outlook (over Comcast connection) or am I just stuck now with using web mail?

So got my dedi the other day. Everything is perfect. However I'm running into some issues.
I have setup some forwarders in cPanel to redirect to my Gmail but unfortunatley I'm not getting them all.
I sent some emails from various address and only received one.
Now I can only think of 3 issues.
1. Something to do with DC/Network.
2. cPanel problem (DC set cpanel up)
3. DNS servers (DC set them)
I have used the mail troubleshooter in WHM and all seems to be fine, it says its sending mail to Gmail so not sure what the problem is.

A few days ago I started having some people tell me that they can't send email to me. Basically, they get a permanent failure. It is very hit or miss though as I'm still getting some mail and not others.
There are a few things that I don't know if they could be contributing factors.
1.) I'm using GMail to check my POP accounts on my webserver.
2.) I have been receiving this message when CPanel runs it's updates at night. The version of perl you are running (v5.8.1) is too old. There are known problems that cannot be worked around with this version of perl. It is HIGHLY recommended that you upgrade to v5.8.5 or later. Any module install failures should be ignored until perl has been upgraded as some modules will not be able to install with this version of perl.
3.) I noticed the WHM interface is updated so maybe something upgraded and broke.
I'm running a Cpanel/Redhat server over at ThePlanet if it matters.

A client is not receiving some of her e-mails from one account she has on the server.
She receives most but some are getting lost (not being received or bouncing back)
All other e-mail accounts that she has on our server are receiving e-mail fine.
The missing emails are from different domains so it's not a problem with the people sending the emails.
I deleted and reinstalled the account on the server and got her to delete and reinstall the account in Outlook express.
That didnt work.
There are no spam filters in place either on the her server account or in her e-mail client and we are not using any RBLs to block email.
The missing emails are not in the mail queue either.

I moved to a new server today but I think there's one configuration setting causing some problems.
I'm receiving spam in my own mailbox, sent to other people's accounts. My own mailbox is the mailbox to which root and nobody and cpanel addresses are forwarded to. The target email of the spam mails don't exist, so the spam ends up in MY inbox. Any idea what's causing this? Maybe the accounts are not configured to use ":fail:" as catchall address? Though cPanel is configured to use that value as default.
My next question is: How can I change the catchall address of ALL my accounts and set them to ":fail:"? Is there a script I could use?

I made a change to one file in /etc/exim4/virtuals - all I did was to add a new line in a file like this:
mailbox: tony
Saved it and then did a
/etc/init.d/exim4 reload
All of sudden, all of my emails has stopped working!
I sent a test email to my address, never received it...
I looked at mainlog - nothing is being added to it.
Same with rejectlog
What am I missing?
Server is Ubuntu and this is a decidated server.

One of my clients is receiving spam from his email address. SpamAssassin is not marking it as spam. I have added an SPF record for the domain, but still gets these messages. Is there any workaround for this? I don't want to activate spambox for that.
Server is cPanel + CentOS 5.2

There is a strange problem with picking up and sending emails on Outlook 2007 which I have wasted hours on over the last week.
Whenever I try to pick up/send emails on domain names, I get a 800CCC0F error message. It says: "reported error (0x800CCC0F): 'The connection to the server was interrupted. If the problem continues, contact your server adminstrator or Internet Service Provider (ISP)'"
I have gone through all the steps here [url]and here [url]and on another websites.
I have been setting up email addresses on Outlook for several years, so know how they should be done.
The strange thing is the email addresses of domain names hosted elsewhere work perfectly. But both new and existing Clook-hosted email addresses are producing this error message.
I believe it may be an error with the software for two reasons:
1. The email addresses work perfectly when I open Outlook in Safe Mode.
2. Our web host's staff have not been able to find anything wrong and the email addresses work when they try to set them up on their computers.
Any idea why our email addresses may not be working and how I can fix this please?
I have tried System Restore and Repairing the program on my computer's Control Panel.
