Domain.com And Www.domain.com Resolving To Different Pages
For some reason, for one of my sites, www.domain.com resolves correctly -- however, domain.com resolves to the Cpanel default page.
I've set up this domain the same way I set up my others. Also, I checked the DNS entry and see nothing wrong w/ it. Here's a screenshot of my DNS domain zone file:

Getting Www.domain.com To Work, Domain.com Resolves Correctly, Just Not With Www
Okay guys, a quick question for all the gurus out there. I'll admit I'm a bit embarassed posting such an easy question, but give a guy a break, I've been using managed servers for god knows how long and I've finally decided to take a dive into administration. Everything is firewalled and secured properly, I'm just having trouble getting the ServerAlias to work right. What happens is I go into my browser and enter in [url]walaa! It works. Now, when I enter in [url], it does not resolve. I have checked with "dig" the domain settings and it looks as though all of the nameservers are set up fine, this is an apache problem. I'm running apache 2.2 on Ubuntu 7.10 for all those who are interested. Domain.com Or Www.domain.com For SSL Certificates
I'm setting my first eCommerce site and right now I need to resolve the following issue. I need to install (well, the hosting company will do it for me) a SSL certificate and I need to know what is best or common practice, to use domainname.com or www.domainname.com I don't know what difference it would make but it seems to do so because the hosting company is asking me to choose. Domain Names Not Resolving
Ocassionally some users have problems to connect the their websites, they can connect to the server via browser and can ping it and tracert the server IPs fine, they can also browse domains having a dedicated IP address. But they can't connect or ping their websites from their end, basically I think the domain name is not resolving. From our end and the rest of users everything works fine. Once I get a complain of this type I try whatever I can do Check to see if their IP is not blacklisted Restart named service Restart apache service But most of the time this doesn't work at all. Exactly as the problem comes it goes, nothing I did seems to have any effect on the solution. It goes and ocassionally reappears. Would you suggest me what would I do to find where the problem is and try to solve it.

Domain Not Resolving Properly
A client recently moved one of their domains to one&one (night mare I know) he then asked us to repoint the domain name to our servers using out name servers. We have done this and it is not resolving to our server. The problem is that the site is no longer showing and their emails are down. I used a domain dossier and the DNS record looks like it should be changed but I'd like some confirmation on this.

DNS Issues - Domain Not Resolving Sometimes
Does anyone have experience with DNS issues? I'm hosting a few sites with LiquidWeb (freeteams.net and laxteams.net are the big ones), who's been a terrific host, but I occasionally have some issues trying to access my sites. It occurs only occasionally (maybe 10-20 people have let me know in the past year), but with users in different locations and on different ISPs. It seems to also only occur for a couple of hours. When they try to type in a specific domain, it won't show up in their browser (browser-independent, I've tried it in Chrome, IE, and Firefox.) However, when they try the IP address directly, the site works. I have about 4 sites on one server, all with their own IP address, and the issue doesn't affect all the domains at the same time. LiquidWeb says it's an ISP issue (they've checked all the settings on the server, and everything looks ok.) I tend to agree with them, because when I or my users switch from using their ISP's DNS server to OpenDNS' server, it works. However, it's happened at a number of different ISPs around the U.S., including universities, which makes me think there's something I can do to solve the problem. Also, I don't want users to have to change their computer settings. Also, while I can't access the domain in the browser, I am able to ping the domain, and it will respond.

Redirect Domain To Www
The thing is that we have a dedicated server at our company hosting several domains, and right now you can access them both with the www prefix or without it, but there is no redirection in case you access without it, and this has negative impact with SEO related stuff. I have the rewrite apache module enabled (I tested with a script I found on the net), and I also tried a test configuring a single domain including some code about redirection. Right now I'm getting a nice "500 Internal Server Error" This is the code in .htaccess Code: Option +FollowSymlinks RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{http_host} ^mydomain.com [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ [url] (mydomain.com is, obviously, a replacement for the real domain in both cases)

Emails To Www.domain.com Disappear
I can get emails to admin@mydomain.com, but i really wanted to alias it so emails to admin@www.mydomain.com go to the same account. MX records for www.mydomain.com and mydomain.com both go to mail.domain.com. . This is on a dedicated server, centos, with exim doing the email handling. I was thinking maybe it would be like an alias of some sort, or somewhere to put a list of combinations i can accept email for.

Has anyone else had this happen with Enom? My clients domain expired a couple days ago and his page now has links with the following keywords: C*nt Hairy P*ssy Fat *ss Big T*t Round *ss Monster D*ck Big *ss T*t I called Enom, and they're only response was, "Well why did you let that domain expire?" I have searched google and these forums for this error but nothing came up that was relevant to me as i have not changed any server configurations what so ever at all, have not done ANYTHING to my server accept use the wget command since i got the server. When i type the urls in normal in a browser they work fine. Reverse Domain Name Server (DNS) ARPA For Domain On VPS
I have a vps with dedicated ip's for my domain names. I read that in order for mails coming from my server not be picked up as spam, i need to add reverse ip entries. Now i have already added the glue nameserver records on my godaddy control panel, ns1.mydomain.com -> 10.20.30.40 ns2.mydomain.com -> 10.20.30.41 But do i need to speak to the datacenter to add the reverse dns entries for my domain on their nameservers? What about if i host my nameservers offsite, but then have my webserver/mailserver etc inside the datacenter? Would i need to request the datacenter where the nameservers are hosted to add the reverse ip entries for the domain, and then the request the same from the datacenter for my web/mail servers to add the reverse entries? Is it really required?

Domain Parking - Wildcard Domain Name Server (DNS)?
We have a lot of unused domains that we'd like to setup domain parking for. To keep it simple, we'd like to just change the namesevers to ns1.domainparking.com and ns2.domainparking.com (not real nameservers!) and the domains would then automatically show a simple web page. We use cpanel servers and are wondering how easy this is to do? I've seem mention of wildcard dns? Is that the answer?

i have about 8 different domains i'd like to point to a nameserver (ns1./ns2.mydomain.com) on Win2k3 server, but i can't get them resolved through my nameserver without creating a manual forward lookup entry for each *parked* domain separatly.. Does anyone know how to resolve "parked" domains automatically on Win2k3 DNS?? I just can't find any answer for this, everything i've found required manual creation of lookup entries.. anyone?

32 Or 64bit & Existing Domain Net Vs New Domain
delving into a new server, a dual opteron w/Centos. Got two questions as I think about setup. 1) 32 bit or 64bit? 2) Regarding host names and server assignemt...I can either assign it as a node to a domain hosted elsewhere in a reseller account, or I can start with a completely unused domain which is currently parked. Any preference, in an ideal world? (I have absolutely no preference, but it occurrred to me it may or may not be of consequence, perfomance & IT-wise and generally speaking .. all things being equal, of course.) Like I said, a newbie. So I'm braced for the if-you-have-to-ask, you-shouldn't-be-in-one" musings for these rather basic boneheaders.

Domain Pointing On Another Domain
I have a domain aaa.com that has a page on it. It used to work fine. I added another domain bbb.com and both were working well. Today, I discovered that no matter if I go to aaa.com or bbb.com, it always shows bbb.com. I didn't try to do something like that and don't want to. Site Www Does Not Work But Without Www Does
Like the title says, I just moved my site over to my own server, and it is running cpanel. Anyways the main site [url]works, but [url]does not. What is really strange is, [url]works fine as does [url] So I figure there is something I have to do to get it all to work right. The other issue is that if you are logged into [url]but goto [url], you are not logged in anymore, but if you go back to the original link, then you are still logged in. This happened on the other guys server before with the main site as well.

I am moving to a new server. At first the [url]version of the site was fine. I had trouble getting [url]working. Once I had the path to the certificate file correct, I was good to go. So, I started moving data. I also ran some updates on the new server (installed mysql, php, related pkgs). What is the best way to get a Domain Name registered? Do I pay for the domain name fee or does the client go and get it? If I use GoDaddy for registering a domain name can it be used on another web hosting server? I see fees on some web hosting sites that charge to move your domain? hI am trying to setup a personal photography portfolio, at mhbgd.com It is registered @ dynadot. For some reason, it forwards to dynadot at the moment, atleast for me. I dont have the domain forwarded in the settings, it is set to the proper nameservers and the hosting account is created on my server. I contacted dynadot and she said it took her to the default cpanel directory page. She suggested that it was a cache issue with my ISP.
