We are getting following error while we view the awstats.
WARNING: LastLine parameter in history file is '20080518001148' so in future. May be you need to correct manually the line LastLine in some awstats*.domain.com .conf files.
is there anything to run on server to fix this issue globally as we are facing this for all domains on server.
Also in the awstats configuration file of the website(awstats.domain.com.conf). when we make the value
WarningMessages = 0
then the error gets fixed.
But after running /scripts/runweblogs < username > the value of WarningMessages again come back to 1
WarningMessages=1
and we again see the above Warning message in the awstats webpage.
I getting error from cpanel now about possible hard drive failure.First it was only secondary disk,so i send request to support to ask them why is that happening and they said it is just temperature warning, but they still checked disk.Testing took 3 hours, and support said everything is ok.
But now i start to receive again that message, and now not just secondary disk, also primary disk.So what should i do,should i just ignore that error considering now is summer and it's hot or contact support again?I am in that dilema beacuse if support will test disk that require offline testing and means server will be down again, and now even longer beacuse of both disk warning, and again if they realy fail then i will lost all data and experience much longer downtime.
How to translate non-chunked message to a chunked message using apache server side configuration?Idea is that apache must translate non-chunked request message coming from a client to a Transfer-Encoding: chunked message, before it reaches my apache C module. Here is the configuration i tried in httpd.conf, but of no success
which kind of operation have performed by this COMMAND because its always there on my server when i am monitoring server through top command .Is it generating logs? if yes then which kind of logs?
how to install awstats on my server so that it is viewable in web/ftp stats in cpanel by all account on my server. Its been a while since installing it on a server so ive forgot the commands.
ive just setup and installed Awstats on my server, its working great but i have one question id like to find a solution to.
i run a 'mobile' community site thats accessible on mobile phones, but for some reason awstats seems to think the browser called UP.browser (which alot of phones use) is a bot and therefore is not displaying it in the main results. does anyone know how to change this.
I have tried to manually setup awstats on a website in Windows 2008 with IIS 7. The problem here is that I have to create two conf files for each website, one named awstats.sitename.conf and the other awstats.www.sitename.conf. If I don't do so, then awstats does not work on either www.sitename.com or sitename.com. I cannot update the stats or view it from the browser. I have a few Hosting controller servers in which awstats is used and I compared the conf file with them and there is no difference. I wonder what could be the issue.
I have been more than 1 year with DownTownHost, and although overall they are quite OK, yet I need to point out some serious flaws which no one ever mentions. This is just an honest complaint.
Namely - downtime.
There is downtime on DownTownHost which in my case lasts a few days each month. I have not been analyzing my stats closely, but when I do, I notice there is a monthly downtime...
The reason - I don't know.
The last time, I can see from AW stats that for about 48 hours there was downtime resulting in site became inaccessible, and there were ZERO visitors for 24 hours at least.
It seems towards the end of the month, there will be downtime...of some kind. Around 27/28/29 of the month. Visitor levels will show a drop for a few days during this period.
Or if not the end of the month, then in the middle of the month....
But last month was bad....1 whole day my blog was not available. Zero visitors recorded.
I just want to know if anyone experienced this also or not.
My server is server 20.
DTH is OK in most things....but downtime is something I really don't tolerate....
Maybe there is an explanation for this, but if these continue, I will look for another host.
Not sure if this is the right forum; please go ahead and move if necessary.
I host a Google Earth file, and in awstats, GE shows up as an unknown browser. For that reason, it's pretty impossible to get more-or-less accurate statistics for what version of GE people are using by looking at the analysis in awstats. Example output:
In Webalizer, it does show you the top 55 Agents, and does manage to show some GE agents there, but it's not very pretty nor is it complete. Example output:

My question is, is there a plugin for awstats that'll give me better results for my stats? Or any other solutions that people want to suggest? I'd like something easy to install or set-up, please don't suggest I run any funky cron-jobs or something.
We run about 100 sites across our cluster, and we want to be able to view a more detailed report of what's going on across the network. We already have an aggregate AWStats view which shows overall network info...
What we were hoping for was a way to generate a table of each site, the core info for each site (ie: uniques, visitors, pages, hits, traffic) and then to click on the name of the site to go to the actual AWStats reporting page.
The thing is, I've SEEN this tool somewhere... but just can't remember where, and mutliple searches turned up empty.
I'm running Plesk 9.2.2 & using the supplied AWStats install. Where will I find the configuration that dictates when AWStats will be updated? It's currently updating at 3.36am daily, & I'd like to set it to hourly. Can't find anything in the root or psaadm crontabs & not sure where else to look.
how to install Awstats on IIS7? I tried to configure it and it got setup successfully, however, when I view the stats or update the stats, only the Not viewed traffic gets updated. There is no update in the viewed traffic. I browsed the website from separate locations and then updated the stats, but still the stats show not viewed traffic. I have only static html files and some flash and images on the website.
I'm not 100% sure where to ask this, so feel free to move it to a more appropriate place if necessary.
At present, my webhost provides me with some statistics about my website through "AWStats". The problem I have is that if I don't update the 'stats' everyday, then I lose that day's records and I have a gap in my statistics.
is there a way I can automate the updating of the AWStats?
I don't like having to come here for help, but I'm stumped on this one and my server tech isn't really helping - perhaps I'm overlooking the obvious. I have an addon domain on which stats are not updating. As of the 11th of this month, the site had over 1.2k uniques and right around that time we did a server move (on the 10th so it may have started then).
It is only for this one addon domain that things aren't working. It registers 0 new anything since then with the exception of yesterday when my tech says he repeatedly refreshed the page and it registered a grand total of 2 uniques. Back to 0 again so far today. I know the site is getting traffic.
Secondly, Webalizer shows very minor traffic in its categories with numbers that remain in the low single digits.
if anybody has been successful in disabling awstats for one domain only? I've seen this method somewhere else but was wondering if any of you guys have tried it here:
---------------------- Append the line, skipawstats=1 to the file /var/cpanel/users/<username> ----------------------
I am currently coding a backend to my website where clients can login and view their webmail, stats, etc.
What I am after is a script that will link my clients directly through to awstats, without going through cpanel or having to re-enter their username/password through the htaccess popup.
Does anybody know if I can pass the un/pwd combo through in the url string to popup the stats in the correct manner?
one of my domain expired week ago, I have it still under my control panel though, I didn't renew it neither have plans to renew
is it possible for me to still look at the awstats? as the awstats link stand as: [url] and when I use the ip address for the site it doesn't show up anything, probably it could be using different sites on the same ip
so do I have stand a chance to view awstats still ?? if yes how?
one of my clients seems to be attracting unwanted attention, it seems as if bots or something along those lines are attempting to exploit my box, while they are unsuccessful it would seem. I was wdonering if there was a rule I could put in Mod_Security that would ban them for attempting to
GET "/awstatsf/logger.php?action=log&type=Hybrid&host=hacked101&"
I've recently taken over the hosting of a large site and forum, and I want to use some for of statistics software of service so that I can determine how many unique visitors and pageviews the site and forum get (which can then be used when dealing with advertisers).
I've been using Webalizer for years, but it's not been updated in over 5 years, so it's out. I then stumbled on Awstats, which works great, but... it doesn't calculate the pageviews correctly.
At the present moment Awstats claims to have tracked approx. 2 million pageviews for the (vBulletin) forum. However, when I scroll down I notice that on number #1 in the "Pages URL Top 10" is image.php, which is used for avatars and is not a page!
Now it appears Awstats has two ways of dealing with this: the "SkipFiles" option and the "NotPageList" option. The first (SkipFiles) drops whole URLs from the stats, which isn't what I want: I just don't want them to be counted as pages.
The second (NotPageList) only accepts file extentions, not script names. This again isn't what I want: hits on showthread.php should still be counted as pages, only hits on image.php shouldn't be.
The site has a similar problem where I don't want scripts like stylesheet.php, rss.php and xml.php from being counted as pages.
My question: does anyone know a solution for this problem? Maybe a hack to allow "NotPageList" to accept script names and/or ULRs?
Alternatively: does anyone know another statistics package that's about on par or better than Awstats that can do this (and that works on Linux/Unix with logs generated by lighttpd+php-fastcgi) and that is not too expensive (max $200)?
Google Analytics isn't suitable for me (even though it would probably work well) because the site goes over 5 million pageviews/month and I don't have a Adwords account.
