Apache :: Connecting To Website Gives White Screen
Mar 14, 2015
So, let me start off by saying I am completely new to website and FTP server hosting. I've hosted game servers in the past so I know about port forwarding and the like but this is obviously a step-up. I've managed to get a fully-functioning FTP server that works great on the domain I'm using but the website using Apache just gives people a blank white screen (as stated in the description). I'm using port 55567 for the website as I don't know want to use 80 because of security risks and what not. The domain being used is delawaretexasrepository.t28.net. Below are the error.log, httpd.conf and httpd-vhosts.conf.
I'm using Oracle's VirtualBox.My network on the virtual box is set to Bridged Adapter
apache/2.4.7 php 5.5.9 Linux/Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS No errors in my apache2 error.log file.
First time creating a server on a virtual box. I am not confident i understand how my computer browser access the virtual box server i created. Once i understand that i could fix my issue. Which is, I can't finding my enabled site or localhost via my browser on my computer. All i get is a white page for both. I don't even see the it works page.
I am following this book and got stuck on chapter 1: Understanding and Setting Up Our Development Environment. link to book -- URL...
I have installed Oracle's VirtualBox, mounted Ubuntu, installed apache2 with $ sudo apt-get install apache2 -y. At this point everyone says, now go to your ip and you will see "It Works". Which i do not see. I see a white page with nothing on it. I then looked to see if the localhost /var/www/html/ index. html even exists. Which is does, i opened the file and i can see the line "It Works!".
My hosts file on my computer has ../driver/etc/hosts
We have a VPS with Eukhost, most things are good - decent price etc, but a lookup on the IP of the servers, a revers dns lookup etc all points to Eukhost - which is obviously not good for a web host!
How can we sell a service thats effectively branded by our supplier? Whats more, the prices Eukhost charge for shared and reseller accounts is too low to compete with.
So we're looking for a new, UK based host that can provide a completely white labelled service.
For one of my new websites, I need to have the ability to record a video. The basic idea will be that a COD4 player uploads a demo file, which isn't a video file at all. Just a file with actions in the game which the engine then represents. So the user uploads the demo file, and then this is transferred to a server, where the game loads up and then records the demo. Does anyone know any software which has a API of some sort which I can use to control how long to record.
Maybe a hardware screen recorder would be better suited, but which provider would offer this?
Should I be running linux or windows? Windows has more games written for it so I was thinking that but I'm honestly not sure.
I have a server that crash at random time intervals. Mostly it crashes in between 7 days. The console is just chowing a blank screen.
The specs of the system are: Linux Distro: CentOS 4.5, kernel 2.6.9-55.0.6.ELsmp (tried multiple kernels). Control Panel: cPanel 11.x Hardware Info:Tyan server barebone - GT20 B5350G20S4H dual processor intel xeon 4 GB Reg. DDR RAM 4 x 250 GB Western Digital WD2500JS-00 Hard Disks ARECA-1110 4xSATAII PCI-X Raid controller.
I tried everything on the software part. Update the kernel, keep system software up to date. Nothing workerd. The load is just normal and memory usage is only 1GB out of 4GB. There are no entries in the log files witch are pointing to an error.
Everything is leading to an hardware issue. I suspect the raid controller or memory. The power supply is not an problem I think because the server consumes still power when it has a blank screen.
We have see a interesting system from one competitors:
any user that have a email account receive any 24 hours a email report of all spam receive (as html attach) In this html file there is list and flag and user can be indicate that is NOT a spam and click submit into html file that send information to mail server
i registered some new domains and wanted to add them via Plesk. Before i did that i got the stanard Plesk default page saying that i have to add the domains via plesk as usual.
When i did that the domain switched to a white page and is not able to load .html pages, i can load a phpinfo.php or install wordpress etc. but when i try to load a simple .html file with css or something, i only get a whitepage..
i dont know why this is happening, other domains from december are working fine, new ones wont. the error.logs are empty and even after a whole server restart it wont work.I´m using Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Server 64bit + Plesk 12.0.18
After a few minutes or after specific actions Plesk shows the login screen without obvious reason. For example when I am trying to modify a file online and try to save it for the second time it always shows the login screen.
Also, when I enter the credentials I can see that the previous session(s) remain open. I have configured the session idle time to 1000 minutes, although I do not remain idle for 300 min anyway.
I am trying to access my server remotely using Windows' Remote Desktop Connection. It functions perfectly, but it does not go full screen because my local screen res is 1680x1050 ...
Does anyone know any other remote desktop applications which work better in this way?
I know I could just change the local res settings but it is a bit of a nuisance and looks really weird if I set it to something non-wide-screen...
I've installed apache on my windows 2008 vps . It's run and when I browse localhost , it's works fine . But when I enter the vps ip address , it says Chrome could not connect to ... , I'm sure that httpd is running on port 80 (I checked it via netstat -ao and task manage ) ....
I m newbie to apache server. I have created a web site using apache server with theURL... tutorial. I m able to access my web site on my ip address bt unable to access it using other ip of linux system. I m CentOS user. I can ping that ip with my ip. I have edited files as described in the tutorial.
I have 3 computers on the same network. One running apache2 on Ubuntu 12.04 and the others with Windows7. I want to access the website I set up from a Windows machine. When I type in the URL, domain.com, I get a 404 error. When I type in 127.0.1.1/domain.com I get the directory listing for the website. I have to actually type 127.0.1.1/domain.com/public_html/ before the website can actually be seen. I would like to get rid of the public_html part. I am brand new to all this.
I'm trying to fix a problem with open proxy on my website. It's running ubuntu & apache2. I also run pfsense for a firewall with snort. I have a SSL for the website, so I have regular port 80 redirect to https.
At first I did notice right away when I checked & saw this happen that proxy was turned on. So I got that turned off.
My firewall is still allowing these bad IPs to port 80. I would like to figure out what I could turn on the firewall or snort to stop those connections in addition to what needs fixing in apache. I've read the solution is to make the redirects go to a 403 error page.
I also tried adding a mod_security rule but ended up blocking all people from website, though I may have accidentally turned some other rules on too.
There are a few different problems it looks like.
First - It looks like they're trying to connect to my HTTPS then redirect to an ad through my domain name? Second - It looks like they're still trying to use my website for open proxy but directly accessing ib.adnxs.com through my port 80. My logs indicate I'm redirecting to a 301 page.
We have a Joomla based website and we are using the inbuilt cache to make the website fast enough for our users... but it really isn't working well... i would say.
The Joomla Cache is very limited and we were thinking if we can enable a server side cache for apache/php or something like that... which would work above Joomla and make all the contents cacheble.
I have a VPS and run few websites. I am not good in Apache and Linux. I just got a dedicated IP address for one of my domains. I like that the website opens just by typing the IP address in the address bar of the browser. How can I activate that?
We are getting infinite loops due to the user requesting the same page continuously , even if apache sends a 200. It is happening randomly once every two or three weeks for different users. This issue is not confined to one browser it is happening with firefox 21, firefox 5, ie 8, etc. It is not happening to the same user again.
It is a PHP based website with custom CMS.We are never able to replicate this issue. Is this something related to a plugin installed on a browser ?
Some of websites like youtube and facebook are blocked in my country and we can't access them .in addition most of tunneling protocols like PPTP are blocked too . I want to create a website that tunnels between our network and this website like proxy or other ways. Scripts like phpProxy are not secure and many websites don't permit the visitors who come with this scripts. A very good sample for my idea is walww.com . This websites is like alternate for blocked addresses like facebook, but it's premium and require charging cash .
How can I create website like walww.com . I have my own VPS and Host for this issue. Is that possible to serve this blocked websites trough proxy by configuring apache settings?
I want to setup a password for a website running on Ubuntu server, and find Apache can be used. It is implemented by config httpd.conf file and .htaccess file.
So I want to ask:
1. In this case, the password is setup for a path on the server configured in httpd.conf file. Like in the following example:
Code: <Directory "/var/www/html/MySite">
The password is setup for the path to Mysite, right?
2. If my content of website is not stored under /var/www folder, I cannot use this way to setup a password for website, right? May use PHP instead?
