Does anyone know of a source for power cords in Toronto with a

The preferred configuration is
input: NEMA 5-15P (regular 15 amp plug)

The C19 looks like this:

Does anyone have any experience with Primus?
I went in, not expecting much, but i can say they exceeded my expectations and that I am pleased with them.
They are definitely not as fancy and over the top impressive as q9. But i do think they offer alot of value without many sacrifices.
Does anyone have any experience with Primus? Is there anything that doesn't meet the eye about them?

I want to get a server in Toronto and am looking for some datacenter recommendations for the area. I seen a thread from last May but would like some more current info. I’ve been looking at either ColoHotel or 3z, does anyone have any experience with either of these locations? Also does anyone have any other suggestions on who to look at or who not to?
My requirements are pretty basic 100Mbit would be better then not, remote reboot, 24/7 access.

Does anyone know of a Toronto colo provider with minimum 99.99% network uptime SLA? I'm currently located at a toronto datacenter, but network hiccups are unacceptable and the SLA is only 99.9%. I know 151 front street has a great connection with 99.99% SLA.

Toronto Canada recommendations
I'm about at my end of dealing with Toronto providers but before we pull the plug on our T.O location, I figured I'd request a couple more recommendations.www.servertag.com - Used them in the past and had some issues with downtime / response times. Would rather not use them again.www.upscalehost.com - Amazing Toronto host but they're killing us by charging 95th percentile.
We're after a standard dedicated box (not celeron) with 1500-2000GB monthly limit.
Know of a company? Maybe a neighbour with a rack in 151?

do dual power supplies use more power than a single supply?
E.g. Say I have a server than uses two amps, powered by a single power supply. Now if I switch to a dual supply (and say each supply has the same efficiency rating as the single), does my server use more power? How much more?
My simple view of this is that it probably does, but maybe not much. The second power supply consumes some power itself, but since its not under load, it doesn't consume much. Therefore, my server with redundant supplies might use 2.1A or 2.2A.

We are looking for co-location in all big cities of Canada. To start with we are looking for Montreal, Vancouver, Ottawa, Calgary. The space required is 1U to 2U. Monthly bandwidth consumption will be around 5MB or slightly more. The Gateway will be connected with PRI's coming from telco. We'll take care of Telco.

I bought two Dell R200 because they was extremely cheap.
My target is Open Source SAN with active/passive setup.
Now i was wondering what RAID-level I should go for.
I will use 1TB SATA-II disks.
1) RAID-1 in both servers and mirror each other with DRBD.
With this setup i have like double RAID-1 so i lose lots of disk space.
4 disks -> 1TB
2) No-raid at all and i will mirror data with DRBD.
4 disks -> 2TB
Then there is change to go for RAID-5. Theres enough space to put third disk in that case
3) RAID-5 in both servers. Mirrors data with DRBD.
6 disks -> 2TB but more performance.
But in every setup i lose space more then i would like to.
Actually i dont need space more then 1TB, but i would like to get best possible redundancy and most space available i could.
Also need to remember that those servers does not support hot-plug HDs so in case there is disk-failure i need to be able to shutdown one server and iSCSI should still be up and running.
Of course theres change to make it active/active.
I was thinking that if I go for the RAID-5 I will make LVM-VG on both nodes (san-vg1 and san-vg2) and use it 50/50.
In case of fail both VG's will be used from working node.
Im going to use Debian Lenny I guess..
I was looking for OpenFiler because of the GUI, but im familiar with Debian and have always done everything from cmd.

Running ubuntu server 6 if I apt-get php5 the version I get is 5.1.2.
Now the latest version on the php.net site is 5.2.5.
Does it really make much of a difference if I'm slightly below current? What are your thoughts please?
I know if I go compiling from source php and mysql are difficult to get working together which is why I like the apt-get method.

Which PHP encoder do you all suggest out of Ioncube and Source Guardian? Or possibly another if you know a good one. I checked out Zend Encoder, but its expensive as hell.
Currently I'm thinking about Ioncube. I know the majority of web hosts have ioncube loader installed, but I'm not sure about source guardian.

when I compile lighttpd from source -- I cannot seem to enable/disable the modules I need.
I have tried
./configure --without-status --with-rewrite
and also
./configure --disable-status --enable-rewrite
but no luck. The rewrite flag may not work since the configure script may or may not detect the pcre library, but status should be disabled.
After the configure script is complete, I get a listing of the enabled/disabled modules that are in the build and nothing new has been changed.

if a program is compiled and installed (configure -> make -> make install) with a --prefix pointing to an empty subfolder, then would removing it be just a simple delete the folder and it's contents action ($rm -fr subfolder/).
Ok so lets say I was to install php from source with a complile prefix flag set to /usr/local/php
Then all the binaries and configuration files are set within the directory (php/conf , php/bin). If I want to delete the php installation then I would just remove the /usr/local/php directory, No?
